This place has some of the worst customer service possible. We placed an order over the phone and the person who took our order didn't bother asking for our names or how long it will take and just proceeded to repeat our order and hung up the phone. Firstly, this place is NOT a Mexican restaurant it is Salvadorian - for the geographically challenged, there is a difference. There is one Mexican item on the menu and several items which are very similar to their Mexican counterparts. The food is excellent, especially so given the price (super cheap), although the place is a hole in the wall. Don't expect fancy surroundings and you won't be disappointed. The location is in the oldest and least updated shopping center in Sterling Park (near Laser Nation). I had the Tacos, the Papyrus, and the Pastelitos all good. My boyfriend has eaten here, I haven't. He says their pupusas are better than any other Latino restaurant's. He's very critical and picky about pupusas. I haven't ever tried them because they don't offer any without meat or cheese but I thought since he likes them so much they must be pretty good. I love there food but lately they are taking to long with pupusas. So I went with my husband and daughter. I order a Sopa de Marisco and my husband a Carne Asada and 2 cheese pupusas for my daughter. So the 1st thing out was the Carne asada and then my sopa de marisco and it took them over 30 min to bring out my daughter 2 cheese pupusas. How ridiculous is that and its like the 3rd time it happens. So I know this might sound bad but could the pupusas be the only fresh thing they make because it takes them so long. I hope they figure it out because we like going there but I don't think we want to wait that long for a pupusa and everyone else already having they're food. I absolutely love this place. If you are looking for an authentic delicious South American food, this place is awesome and it's very affordable. My favorite thing to get here is the breakfast. I tried this place for lunch today and wow it is great. We definitely stood out in the crowd and speaking basically no Spanish proved difficult. We had the Carne Asada Tacos and Bean and Cheese papusas. They were fantastic. A little lime and their green salsa makes the tacos perfect along with the coleslaw (that's what it seemed like) and hot sauce on the papusa gives it that extra touch. I brought some of the tacos home to my brother who's visiting from LA. He says they're the closest tacos to what you'd get out of a taco truck in LA. I've somehow never had taco truck tacos in LA so I can't say for sure. They were awesome though. I noticed most everyone else there was eating soup. El Rinconcito Del Sabor used to be a clean place and the food used to be cooked very well and now the food is undercook the place is dirty and the customer service is very poorly l. I don't recommend this place and you better off at a McDonald's then this place. read more

Wish I could give it more stars but really, it wasn't all that the reviews promised. I was born and raised in latin america and have lived in Miami and SF where there is pretty good fare. I'm all for "hole in the wall" joints as long as the food delivers. The carnitas tacos, pork chop, pupusas, and side order of plantains...all of it was on the dry side. Flavor wise...mediocre. It took at least 30 min. for 1 taco to come out, followed by the rest. The service if ok...There is a strong cleaning product smell which kind of sets your head abuzz...maybe clorox for the floors? I recommend Tipicos Gloria or Guapos in Herndon for MUCH better fare. read more

I placed a order at 9:08 went to pick up the order from Them at 9:31pm and the told me I must of called a wrong number; I read the number to the short lady that's always running the cash register and she told me the number I read off to her was wrong! I decided to call it in front of her and by some miracle she said "oh wait you did call the right number" I'm not one to go on these rants and if she would of simply said I messed up or forgot to place your order...I would have been ok instead she felt the need to try to make me look like I was wrong and I never call the right place. We walk into a large cafeteria style dining room with plastic covered tables. The decor of the restaurant isn't the best, but we're there for the food. We had difficulties ordering because we didn't know any Spanish. However, the cashier was very helpful and pointed to the picture menu on the wall with pricing. There was also a printed menu pamphlet that had the picture menu and some descriptions of the items in English (thank goodness!). We ordered some carne tacos (comes with lime, green salsa, and a big slice of avocado), papusas (refried beans and cheese comes with a mild hot sauce), the fried fish (with black beans, salad, tortillas, and rice), and plantains. The fish (tilapia) had a little metallic taste, but it tasted as if it was fresh fish and it was cooked perfectly. Everything was so delicious and the price is really good. If you're like us and don't know any Spanish, don't be intimidated. Grab the menu pamphlet and point to what you want. And then take the pamphlet home as homework for next time. :) read more
