I have never been inside, I've only ordered through apps, but for the passed several years this place has always been a favorite of mine. The prices compared to other spots like this are very competitive, and reasonable. The amount of food you receive is good. I love their tacos, and I get the chicken tenders and sometimes a cheeseburger for the dog. The food tastes and looks fresh every time I order it. The chicken tenders were definitely made to order and I can tell the fryers are clean bc the tenders were light gold rather than brown. They were juicy as well, yes I bought those for the dog but I figured I'd try one. The beef fajita taco was great, that's what I started out eating. And their iced tea was good too, believe it or not there are places that can mess up unsweetened iced tea. One day I'd like to actually visit this place in person. read more

Came here for late night Tuesday drinks with friends a the drinks did not disappoint. The girls and I got jumbo margaritas and they're were delicious. Definitely felt great after one drink. Don't go in with your trucker headset on. Food will taste bland. Us truckers get the bottom of the barrel. Asada didn't taste grilled or seasoned at all. The carna asada taste as if they cooked it in a microwave no char to it what so ever. Furthermore you know you been got when you get the bag and it's light asf. Drive by and wanted to try it out! Once you go in, the ambiance is pretty chill and the music makes it very private if you have a chat with who you are with. Service is good too, friendly and welcoming as soon as you come in. Now the food which is the most important subject... we ordered menudo, 1 large and 1 small. The small is good if you want to order something else like I did. It was good, not bad at all..the only thing it didn't have much grain "grano" but other than that it was good. Now on the other hand, the chilaquiles were not good! Too sour, not real homemade Chile which sucks because chilaquiles don't take that long to make and you can see it was Can salsa. The potatoes are cold which shows they are done already and just added to plate. I would not come back again, tried it and that's it but it's not my favorite place to stop by again. Authentic Everywhere I go the foods are always a bit different. I've had Mexican food in Arizona, Texas, and several other states and each has a twist on flavors and styles. I believe this to be authentic Mexican food in the Texas style. I'm not an expert on Mexican food, but I like when I go into a restaurant when they play music from their country. When I walked in I heard the beautiful musica from Mexico and loved it. I may not have understood it, but it sets my mind as if I was in Mexico. Ok, now for the food. It was ok. They brought out chips and salsa which I thought was really tasty. Got my horchata to cool my throat and it was delicious. I wasn't sure what to order but when I walked in it smelled like they were cooking steak so I got a steak. I realize ordering a steak from a Mexican restaurant is different than a steak at a steakhouse. Mexican restaurants typically have very thin steaks. I saw a picture of what looked good and ordered that. In the picture the steak looked pretty good and I didn't see it smothered in sauce. When the steak arrived it definitely didn't look as good as the picture and it was completely smothered in sauce...I could barely see the steak. So lesson learned. Pictures can be deceiving. The steak was just ok, nothing to feel good about. It smelled better cooking than it tasted. The rest was just mush of refried beans, rice and a crappy salad. I was thinking of giving less than 4 stars but I have to say there's really nothing else to eat in that area. This is probably the best option if you are right there.... otherwise go somewhere else. If you are in that area this place has a bunch of TV's so you can sit and have a beer, or margarita, and watch a game. read more

Ordered the chile relano and stuffed with chicken. The chicken was undercooked but the pepper was decent. The service was fast.

To my surprise I find this place to be underrated. I've personally eaten here twice and in a few minutes it'll be my third. Food is flavorful, I haven't been served anything that has been overcooked or undercooked. Waitresses are courteous, nice and although they don't come around often enough to check up on you overall service is good. There are a few screens and a small bar with some music playing in the background. Price to portion and flavor is fairly justifiable. I've been here about four times now. The food is pretty good, the staff seems pretty nice, and the music is decent but pretty random at times. Honestly I liked eating here. Unfortunately I may not return though. Twice now the staff has changed the tip on the receipt after I left. Pretty comfortable setting to enjoy a nice dinning, my favorite part about this location is that it's 24/7!!! Everything looked delicious and was delicious, I ate so much I felt like I was 8 months pregnant lol. Service was excellent I got a refill every time I even thought about asking. The only recommendation I can give the is to add salt to the charro beans, and add more beans to the nachos. My bean and cheese taco also seemed a little light on the beans as well. If you're looking for hot Tex Mex food you have arrived to the right place. Not the fanciest restaurant but it will get the spot. The enchiladas and beans and rice were well seasoned and taste like most enchiladas in the area. Tacos were good but the beef lacked a little flavor in my opinion. Tried the ceviche and it was well seasoned but did not contain much fish. Other people in my group order the menudo and said the flavor was good but the meat was really tough. I'm a trucker and live out in McKinney Tx and thought I would try this place out before I head back up there as I thought how can you get breakfast tacos wrong. I'm a sucker for a good Chorizo egg taco but I must say this was the worst I have ever had. The price was good $5 for 4 tacos, I just wish I could go back and get my $5 tip I gave them back. As you can see from the picture this is not chorizo I don't know if they just ran out and tried to fool me with a tiny sprinkle of unseasoned beef but I'm no fool and I was so disappointed I did not even finish all of them. Review is mainly for the food. Usually get the rodeo special and asada mini tacos which are always tasting. They kind of go a little much on the salt/MSG sometimes, but who doesn't. I don't know how great the eating-in situation is since I usually takeout food and it looks like it's in an interesting neighborhood near a truck stop and the restaurant has bars on the windows to prove I should have some concerns. This place sucks! So so so bad! I got two tacos ala cart one fish and the the other lengua. The fish taco was so fried that I could barely bite into it and the lengua was so bland no salt no seasoning no taste at all! My husband got the ceviche. He wanted the small but was pressured into getting a large. It tastes like pine sole he left most of it and the menus says it's 9.99 for a large but was charged for a ceviche for 2 for 13.99 a rip off to the max! Last but not least the margaritas are wine "based" whatever that means? Very weak and gross! For all of that we spent 50 dollars and let me tell you we were disappointed with every single item. Went here last night and went through the drive thru. I ordered a lg guacamole, small chips and queso (with salsa) and an order of cheese enchiladas. Now I am very picky when it comes to food especially Mexican food. But this food was pretty good (even tho cold) because I live 20 min away. The salsa was fresh and had just the right amount of heat and good flavor. They give you a lot of chips and they are thick which I like. Their enchiladas are really good which I ate cold. That's how good they are!!! The only thing I didn't like was the queso. It was not hot when I got it. I wanted to eat it on the way home. It was a glob. But today I added some salsa and heated it up and it's great! The manager told me they have another location at I10 and Wurzbach. Maybe I'll try there next time. If I'm ever on this side of town again I will come here and may go inside to eat. read more

Great Meal! Light and tender chips, salsa is thick, chunky, has a nice bite and a bit more garlic than most places I've been (which I don't mind). I prefer a thicker salsa because it stays on the chips better. I ordered the Spicy Pork which was tender strips of seasoned pork. It looked like it was going to be dry but it wasn't. It came with refried beans (I believe charro whole beans was also an option), Spanish rice and a small salad (guacamole, tomatoes and lettuce). My server spoke some English so I got to practice my Spanish a little. There was another server who helped us both out which was appreciated. Nice place, upbeat music, clean and well lit. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the Carne Asada plate I ordered for takeout but have some gripes. I'll start with the good: I ordered peppers and onions with the dish and they were very generous in the portion. They were properly sautéed and I wasn't mad about the .89¢ they charged me for it. As for the star of the show, the carne asada was actually pretty true to the photo and quite delicious. The amount of times I've ordered carne asada and have been disappointed with a gray, stinking, and flavorless cheap cut is disheartening. They served a pretty decent cut (thinly sliced flank or something similar it looked) and it was seasoned well and possibly even marinated as it ought to be. The steak did well served on the toasted tortillas. The bad: the lettuce and tomato they gave me didn't look very bright. They were quite devoid of flavor. It really would have brought some life to the dish if they had taken the time to serve something fresher. The ugly: I don't know who made the guac today but it was sour and lacking seasoning/body. It was a bit runny which makes me feel like it could have even been watered down. To add insult to injury, the guac, which I was nickle and dimed for, was the tiniest and most inexcusable scoop of guac I have ever seen. I understand avocados are expensive, but you'd do much better serving a normal size scoop that is done up right (think what you would get at chipotle). I actually opted to not put the guac on the tacos I made after giving it a couple tries. The ok: beans and rice were standard but good. Overall, I'd say give this place a shot. I like to think I have pretty high standards when it comes to Mexican food. I often ate at my friend's parents' restaurant growing up and they would always go the extra mile to serve the authentic favorites they grew up with in Mexico. If you don't set the bar so high, you might really enjoy it. As for the owners, I hope you'll take my advice into account. This place has potential. read more
