Someone came out with our food and I sent our payment via Venmo. Husband and I got the sandwich, two iced coffees, corn, large salad and it was DELICIOUS. The portions are pretty substantial and I think a small salad would have sufficed. Will definitely be back!

I called to place order. Got a recording. Got a return call confirming my order. Found it's better to text with C6 or F7 unless one can speak Vietnamese. Main associate lacks English proficiency. Much easier for her to get "code" Place was an easy find. Street parking slightly difficult. Unknown if parking in their lot is permissible. Went towards big building on the right . Found unit with "Taste of Asia" brochure on window. Just before the gate. Bingo! Stood in front of open door until Vietnamese lady came out with my order. $21 cash. Unknown if Zelle has tax added to it. Tipped a little. Lady hesitated to give change. Offerings (Vietnamese): street food, drinks, coffee. Sips: Cafe Muoi Bien (sea salt foam Vietnamese coffee, 7)-Viet coffee, sea salt foam, condensed milk. -coffee didn't look full. No doubt foam on top shrank/mixed into coffee. -bold coffee with alternating sweet & salty tastes depending on sipping foam or condensed milk. Bites: Banh Trang Cuon (Vietnamese Special roll, 14). There's also a salad version with same ingredients & no wrapping. -dipping sauce had sweet & savory notes. -rice roll had dominant theme of beef jerky. The surrounding nuanced taste was a symphonic medley of carrots, quarter sectioned boiled eggs, coriander, green mango, dried shrimp, fried onions, peanuts & green mangos, 5 stars Worthy! Quality: freshly premade. Quantiy: ample enough for a meal. Would repeat. *Taste of Asia "passport" given to win prizes from buying from food vendors in Oakland Chinatown & San Leandro Asian businesses. The soup dumplings were served at a good temperature (hot enough to enjoy right away), with a soft layer, crunchy base, and a flavorful broth inside. They were juicy and well-seasoned, and best enjoyed carefully otherwise the soup will spill. The complementary hot tea was a nice pairing that helped balance the richness of the dumplings. The interior is minimalistic and clean, which I really liked. It feels modern without being cold or overdesigned. There is Wi-Fi. Parking was easy, and there was no wait to get seated when I went in on a Wednesday afternoon (12:30 PM) which made the whole experience smooth and easy. Overall, a solid spot for soup dumplings when you want something quick, warm, and well-executed! I would say this is one of the gems in San Leandro.

The Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao stood out as the best of the three that we ordered. It was very flavorful. The Shanghai Pan-Fried Soup Buns were okay. I definitely would get the Crab ones over the Shanghai ones. The dough on them was the perfect thickness and just the right amount of chewiness. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking. The restaurant is decorated nicely, and there's a counter where you can eat and watch them make the food through a large window. Service is friendly and fast. There was no wait for a table on a weekday for an early lunch.

A major plus is their fusion menu, which combines Hong Kong/Guangdong claypot rice, Yunnan rice noodles, ramen, udon, and even fried chicken. This variety is fantastic since my family members all have different favorites. The claypot rice is especially good. While many places serve this dish, quality can vary wildly, but the version here definitely ranks among the best, and the portion size is very adequate. The rice noodles are solid as well, and the pricing is reasonable. Service is another highlight, the staff is attentive and even remembers returning customers' preferences, which is a huge bonus. I know they've been facing some competition from a recently opened Hong Kong-style restaurant nearby (I've tried that one too), but honestly, Ji Bei Chuan still offers the better overall dining experience.

Overall, the place was decorated very well and relaxing. The staff were quick to greet us and take our orders, although ordering is also possible through a QR code. Both the cold cut chicken appetizer and black fungus were tasty, a bit hefty on the sauce but still tasty. The Gold Spicy Soup definitely packs a kick; be ready for a tasty dish with coughs on the side if you're a soup drinker - this soup don't play!
