Easy and. Fast dim sum. You can order via text on their phone line or call ahead. If you come first thing there is always great parking right out front. The prices were cheap for the food we got. Not as good as the dim sum places in SF but will do in a pinch. The only reason it's not as good is the shrimps in the dim sums are small and not as plump as the ones in SF. What a hidden gem! Dim sum has gotten really expensive at a lot of places in the east bay, but Dim Sum House still sells quality dim sum at AFFORDABLE prices. Most dishes are under $5 (about $1.25/dumpling) while other places are charging nearly double that. It is a true "hole in the wall" located in a neighborhood. Parking is limited to street parking but you shouldn't have a problem if you are open to walking a little. They accept credit card. You can order in advance by calling or texting their number. Found this Dim Sun restaurant on Instagram. The reviews all sounded positive so off to Hayward for Dim Sum take-out. I learned a couple of things on my first trip. The service is very good, the Dim Sum is cooked fresh while you wait, if you order on-line you can shorten your wait time, you can park around the corner in the neighborhood if you don't find street parking in front of the restaurant and they have a variety of frozens. I took pictures of the menu of what they sell. We ordered Sui Mai, XLB, Baked Pork Buns, Pork Puffs and steamed rice roll with shrimp. I forgot to take pictures of the food. All if it was fresh, we had to microwave the dim sum because it took about 35 minutes to get home. We need to try Dim Sum House again and eat it in the car, it will probably taste better fresh out of the steamers. The service is very good, food is good but nothing stood out as best dim sum ever but fresh and well priced for Dim Sum. We plan to go again, buy some new items and some repeat dumplings. I am always on the hunt for a good takeout dim sum spot. As much as I love gathering with friends or family for yum cha at a sit down restaurant on a Saturday morning, there's just something that hits different from being able to pick up a batch of freshly steamed dim sum and eat it in the comfort of your own home. In my case, most of our order did not make it home as I started scarfing it down immediately in the car... Stopped by here on a Friday morning around 11 am and ordered a ton of items to satisfy our dim sum cravings. We got the fried glutinous rice / salty pork dumpling (ham sui gok or the "football" as my husband affectionately calls it), fried taro puffs, siu mai, har gow, sticky rice in lotus leaf, pan fried turnip cake, chicken feet, spare rib with black bean sauce, and bbq pork rice rolls. Everything is made to order so all of the food came out piping hot and fresh. I loved everything but the ham sui gok, har gow and turnip cake were all standouts for me for their flavor, texture and overall preparation. These are typically my go to items though and Dim Sum House does it well. We also tried to get baked bbq pork buns but they said you have to come when they open to get these as they sell out quick! This is a small hole in the wall that seems to be well known and loved by locals. There's no parking lot but a lot of street parking and most of the street is residential. There isn't any room to wait inside. Orders usually take about 10 minutes but can be longer if it's busy. You can call or text them to place your order which is a huge plus, and they do WeChat as well! They also take credit card and Apple Pay. I love dim sum and grew up eating it all the time. This place is so good and even better than a lot of dim sum restaurants out there. For being a takeout dim sum place and the price being reasonable, you would think the dim sum would be mediocre. All their dim sum is made to order and they come out piping hot. Everything I've ordered from them so far is super flavorful. I usually call in my order and it takes about 10 minutes for it to be ready. Parking is hard to find since they only have two spots in front of the shop. You'll have to find street parking. When you go inside to pick up your order, you just give them the last four digits of your phone number so they can pull up your order. I like that they take credit cards since some to go dim sum places are cash only. I highly recommend getting the pork and shrimp siu mai, pea shoot and shrimp dumpling, and the steamed beef balls. Their pork and shrimp siu mai is soft and not chewy or gristly. The pea shoot and shrimp dumpling is flavorful and not fishy tasting. Some places that have shrimp in their dim sum can have a fishy flavor like it's bad quality shrimp. My absolute favorite is the steamed beef balls. Steamed beef balls is not a dim sum dish people order often since it's considered kind of basic. However, their steamed beef balls have so much flavor. It's very umami with a hint of ginger. It's a small mom and pop owned shop and is my go-to for basic dim sum cravings like shu mai (both shrimp and beef) and ha gow. I usually get that, their sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, fried taro meat dumpling, pork and chives dumpling and shrimp rice rolls. Sometimes I just don't want to sit at a dim sum restaurant and this spot doesn't break the bank. They're a reasonable price with delicious foods that I recommend when you have dim sum cravings. The best part is, they're open till 5 so you can pretty much have dim sum cravings all day and get it satisfied. They also sell frozen counterparts of their menu that I like to buy and keep in the freezer. Whenever I'm lazy after I come home from work, I just pop a few things in the steamer and it's dim sum for dinner. For a to go dim sum spot, this place slaps! For the hot foods, I got chiu chow dumplings, turnip cake, and black sesame mochi with coconut filling. I was surprised by the dumplings! The dim sum is amazingly delicious and large, very generous pieces. So glad I found you on Yelp that opens at 9 AM so I can pick up early for my office luncheon!! The har gow rice flour wrapper is nice and chewy and doesn't fall apart like other restaurants do for take-outs. I come here at least 3 to 4 times a month for dim sum. This place is togo only!! For a togo place, it is very good and authentic, thats hard to find. My go to are, Shumai (Pork & Shrimp Dumplings) are always fresh with good flavor and good size too. Hargow (Shrimp Dumplings) are also always fresh and tasty, also good size.
