Perhaps it was the hunger and the smell of grilled meat in the air, or that the bright yellow oven was steaming and the sweetness of fresh roasted corn aroma was my calling, but it called and I came. The menu was simple: Baked Potato (5) Roasted Corn (2.5) Lemonade/Pink Lemonade (2) Water/Soda (1) +(.5) for any additional potato toppings. That corn is so special because it's just slow roasting in that giant, yellow oven so old school and classic, where you know that's why the food is some delicious. Their famous corn should be topped with: salt, butter, cheese, chile, lemon and mayonnaise. I'm not a huge mayonnaise so I skipped that, but the rest melted all into a buttery drizzle went perfectly with the corn. They don't have the butter out, so let them know you want butter with your corn. Plus, the corn is ON the cob! The potato is amazing. It's huge so huge it's about twice the size of a regular sized person's fist. It's baked and the skin is crispy. Meaty potato loaded on top with different cheeses, salt, butter, green onions, bacon bits, sour cream and jalapenos. It's the perfect hotness and they wrap it up beautifully for you. I'm not even sure if these words should be used to describe food, but I am and they can because I have no other words. Must come try the baked potato because you won't regret it. Absolutely delicious and makes me love farmer's market to discover food vendors that you can't have every day. The lemonade isn't bad and not overly sticky or sweet. The pink one is always better! If you ever swing by the San Leandro's FM, this is the one stop that you should duck into for a second to indulge yourself-never had a better baked potato. Plus, it well worth that five bucks you have. The carbs are worth it because an extra hour at the gym won't kill.

Someone came out with our food and I sent our payment via Venmo. Husband and I got the sandwich, two iced coffees, corn, large salad and it was DELICIOUS. I called to place order. Got a recording. Got a return call confirming my order. Found it's better to text with C6 or F7 unless one can speak Vietnamese. Main associate lacks English proficiency. Much easier for her to get "code" Place was an easy find. Street parking slightly difficult. Unknown if parking in their lot is permissible. Went towards big building on the right . Found unit with "Taste of Asia" brochure on window. Just before the gate. Bingo! Stood in front of open door until Vietnamese lady came out with my order. $21 cash. Unknown if Zelle has tax added to it. Tipped a little. Lady hesitated to give change. Offerings (Vietnamese): street food, drinks, coffee. Sips: Cafe Muoi Bien (sea salt foam Vietnamese coffee, 7)-Viet coffee, sea salt foam, condensed milk. -coffee didn't look full. No doubt foam on top shrank/mixed into coffee. -bold coffee with alternating sweet & salty tastes depending on sipping foam or condensed milk. Bites: Banh Trang Cuon (Vietnamese Special roll, 14). There's also a salad version with same ingredients & no wrapping. -dipping sauce had sweet & savory notes. -rice roll had dominant theme of beef jerky. The surrounding nuanced taste was a symphonic medley of carrots, quarter sectioned boiled eggs, coriander, green mango, dried shrimp, fried onions, peanuts & green mangos, 5 stars Worthy! Quality: freshly premade. Quantiy: ample enough for a meal. Would repeat. *Taste of Asia "passport" given to win prizes from buying from food vendors in Oakland Chinatown & San Leandro Asian businesses. It was truly one of the best catering experiences I have had from the professionalism of the onsite staff to the exceptional quality of every dish served. I was unfortunately too busy managing the event (and enjoying the food) to take photos, but the menu absolutely deserves recognition. Highlights included the perfectly seasoned Farmer's Market Scramble, Chicken Apple Sausage, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Sauce, and Herb Roasted Potatoes for breakfast. Lunch featured incredibly tender Short Ribs, perfectly glazed and moist Grilled Chicken, grilled polenta, and the best honey butter cornbread I have ever had. Our guests consistently commented on how outstanding the food was...and this group is not easily impressed when it comes to catering. A sincere thank you to Pinky and the entire team for delivering such a seamless and memorable experience. I will absolutely keep PINX Catering in mind for future events and would highly recommend them to others.
