One of the best portions per dollar deals you'll find in the Willamette Valley. Most of the burritos are supremely dank and under $6. I'd recommend the Oregon burrito with curly fries, but the fajita ones ain't bad either. The tacos are packed fattystyle as well, and I was digging the flavors of the al pastor. Some people might be a little worried about ingesting some bad juju here, but if you want that real south of the border slap to the nuts, that's a risk you gotta take, and I've never had stomach issues except because I bit off more than I could chew. Cause the meal was that danknasty. It's awesome as long as you avoid the South Eugene lunch rush - high schoolers are fuckin weird. In my dumb life, I've lived in south Texas and southern California and this outlet of El Super Burrito is at least equal to the best this-side-of-the-border Mexican food I've had. Good food, but if you're vegan or vegetarian stay away!!! Their cooks don't know how to separate meat from everything else. I don't know when things changed, but it's no longer awesome food here. When they first opened their food was San Diego style and friggin epic. Now the carne asada tastes like it's not marinated. Guacamole tastes great. Has spices and other great things. Avocado slices are a weird tasting fruit with a softish flesh that just has a texture that I don't care for. So passing off some slices of an avocado for guacamole is bull. And last night I ordered a chicken and steak fajita torte with a side of curly fries. The torte was just bland and not good. The chicken was okay, but the rest of it wss so bad that I took my meal that I had spent nine dollars on and put it out on the deck for the animals to eat. Bet the possum that got it loved it. So at least something didn't find the food to be unacceptable. And curly fries! Like the picture on the menu? I was served crinkle cut fries!Does anyone like those tastless, nasty ass fries. All white and pasty. Curly fries are battered and tasteful!! What jackwagon swaps those fries and think it just fine. To the one that did that, you deserve a great big "F you jackwagon!" Like I said. I have only had one thing here, three times: the chili verde burrito with black beans. That is what sufficed to chill my obsession. People told me about this place, but for three years I never made it... until about a month ago. I think this place is as good as burrito joints I experienced in SF. Let me say this first off. Best Al Pastor and Horchata I've ever had. I love their Asada and Al Pastor tacos. This is what first brought me here. I usually prefer Asada any day, but, after having the Al Pastor I soon fell in love. After getting my taco fix, I eventually got an Al Pastor burrito. $4.50 for an amazing burrito...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Sometimes I'll pay an extra dollar for a wet burrito which is just as amazing. The difference between this place and any other Mexican or "Mexican" place is easy to notice. If you haven't tried this place or if you're craving Mexican food, go here. Try the tacos and obviously the burritos. I'm not even a fan of Pork but I can't get enough of the Al Pastor, so that says a lot. read more

As a professional cook, and someone who's traveled Mexico extensively, using my mouth as my compass, I can agree with most folks when they lament that Eugene doesn't know what real Mexican food is. However, if there's one place that consistently takes me back to my travels down south, its this place. Simple to outrageous, they have it all - which is good, because hungover college kids need to have their greasy french fries in a burrito swill as well (whatever they want to call it "California" or "Oregon" burrito). Their fish tacos, battered (or grilled if asked) topped with slaw, white sauce cilantro and tomatoes are a good practice in keeping it simple. Same as one would expect on the streets in a Mexican beach town. My favorite however is their lengua. Burritos or tacos, ESB does an excellent job in correctly braising the cut of meat until its appropriately tender. Lengua is sort of my litmus test for a new Mexican joint, and most places fall short. Rubbery squares of tongue, clearly not cooked long enough, and flavorless to off tasting seem to be the norm at some of the more popular chains. ESB nails it, melt in your mouth and sublime every time. What many folks don't know, is that the original owner of Eugene's most prolific burrito joint (won't say the name, as the rules state not to, but just think "green sauce") lost his business when he fell onto hard times. A family member, or ex took over the chain, expanded on it, marketed it well and canvased the entire metro area with them, but completely changing in the process. As a little kid I remember what the menu was like, while now it just feels like it falls short. So its nice to know that that original owner got his act together, started over and opened this place and offers that same, original menu. Original recipes. No corners cut. Prices are substantially cheaper as well from what I've purchased (maybe not the tacos now that I think of it? But Burritos for sure). They also don't just have "green sauce"... They have about half a dozen hot sauces, all house made, from mild, to medium, to specialty roasted, all the way up to their yellow bottles of straight habanero juice. So hot it tastes like a chemical fire. Good in moderation, though. I highly recommend this place. Stuck between tanning salons, pizza delivery storefronts and some local bakeries, its in a strange spot indeed. But its worth it for the quality of their food. If family from SoCal came to visit, I would be embarrassed to take them elsewhere if they wanted cheap mexican food. Only downside other than the cramped location? Maybe their cleanliness? Sometimes comes across as a bit ratty in the dining area, however, I've eaten food served from crock pots under a tarp in Mazatlan, so what do I care. TO each their own! read more

They tasted authentic, were light, crispy & not greasy. Came with healthy portions of decent rice & beans. All for $6.50. My husband and I have tried this place twice and really enjoyed it. We were there on their opening day and tried their fish taco. This was a definite winner! The second time was for a breakfast burritos. We tried the Chorizo and egg BB and it was huge and yummy! I wont need lunch! The prices are cheap and the food is good. The burritos are huge and they offer them smothered in a red sauce which I definitely recommend! The owners work every day and have a hand in every dish put out. I had been waiting with baited breath for El Super Burrito to open ever since Fina closed down across the street and was replaced with hippy junk. I work nearby and all of my experiences with the staff of El Super Burrito has been fantastic. Their service is excellent and fast and has a family feel to it. The food is cheap, plentiful, and tasty! Not as many vegetables in the burritos as I have come to expect but the meat is the best I have tasted in Eugene-especially the Carne Asada. The specialty plates come with significantly more vegetables, even some fresh avocado-which was a nice touch for no extra charge. The burritos are about TWICE as big as I expected for the cost-around 4.50 on average. It may not be the best Mexican food I have eaten but when you factor in the price, serving size, service, and location (no other Mexican restaurants nearby) this is a must-try for those in the area and a new regular spot for me. read more

My review was 5 stars and talked about their great crunchy tacos were. That was in the summer time. Something changed and now I'm not going back. Now when I get tacos they are tiny and over cooked. They used to be big and great with fresh toppings. Now they stuff it with a messy handful of lettuce and if you want sour cream it's a messy plop on top. I'm not sure if they got a new chef or a new owner but something is wrong. I have had this experience 5 times now so I don't think it's some weird coincidence. read more
