Our favorite liquor store tacos continue to do well! We stopped in to see their new set up and grab some tasty tacos. Service was quick and the food was brought right out to our seat at the bar where we could watch everything being made. The veggie tacos are my fave because they cook them up with a healthy serving of cheese. Salsas were fresh and tasty complementing the tacos nicely. Burritos are giant and tortas are stuffed so it justifies the $ for those who usually see lower prices for a taco truck. On par with the usual Ballard prices. We are also a fan of their pupusas (veggie options here!) which comes with a portion of salsa and curtido. It comes as a plate of 3 and is super filling. Call in your order if you don't want to pay the extra Yelp $. The gentleman who usually picks up the phone is super nice! Cons: food usually takes longer than they tell you over the phone so just plan accordingly. They also seem to be out of seafood options often (100% of the times we've ordered). The parking situation is a little awkward since they are on a small lot next to the smoke shop. But overall a solid choice for Mexican food if you live in the Ballard area. read more

Fantastic food truck across the street from Ballard market. (Parks in the chevron gas station across from St Al's church.) We've been going here for years, since back when they parked on 15th and 80th. The pupusas are phenomenal. They are flavorful, freshly made and come with some great slaw and hot sauce. Yo. Super nice people. Call in your order and talk to some nice dude who speaks fluent English and will take care of you even with weird exceptions like nothing green for my really picky kid. These people know how to make tacos. Their burritos are HUGE. I think they're El Salvadorian so you get some Central America-specific items too which is awesome. I've been very disappointed when I bike here and they're closed. The hours can be iffy but that tells me they just show up, they make delicious food, they go home to their families and live happy lives making other people's bellies happy. read more

Yum! I was craving taco truck food and found this place during my online search. I ordered an Asada taco plate which was about $15 (seems to be the about the going price when it comes to taco trucks in Seattle.) It was very tasty and I liked the packaging it came in, made things a lot less messy than just throwing it all on a paper plate. Will definitely be back! read more

Wow! I found this food truck close to my son's house and went to get some tacos. They are street style. I wanted fish tacos, but they were out of fish. I got shrimp, beef tongue, tripe and steak. I was just going to get tacos, but I saw a wet burrito and ordered one of them. I got chicken with green sauce. My husband, son, son's girlfriend and I all thought that the food was delicious! I opened the wet chicken burrito and was amazed at the size! I ended up splitting with my husband. Everything was so flavorful that it didn't need any sauce, but since he sent red and green sauces, we thought we'd try them. The green sauce was good and mild. The red sauce was a lot hotter than I like, so be careful! The service was very good. The man taking the order (probably the owner) helped me get my order straight. He was very patient. The order was done in about 10 minutes. The ambiance isn't great because it's a food truck in a gas station parking lot with a couple of picnic tables, but for great food to go I highly recommend this place! read more

I love the Taco Loco truck! The staff is really friendly, service is always very quick--unless there's a long line, which does happen because the food is good. I've had the tacos, which are stuffed with flavorful fillings--chicken, pork, beef, "cabeza" and more. I've also had the big burrito--it's massive and difficult to finish in once sitting. The dishes are offered with mild or spicy sauce. Beware that when they say "spicy,"they mean it! My favorite dish is the Salvadoran pupusa, expertly made corn tortillas filled with your choice of cheese, pork, beans or other fillings. It comes with the Salvadoran slaw and tomato-based sauce. Prices are very reasonable, too. I highly recommend them for authentic Mexican and Central American specialties. read more

Not only were the tacos loaded up with carnitas, but the tacos themselves were bigger than your average food truck taco. They accept card, and asked if I wanted a mild or hot sauce. They use a sauteed veg mix with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. I could have done without the onions, but there weren't too many. The food is so. good. You can buy a ton of food- enough for 4 people for 2-3 meals for $50. The tacos are delicious. The salsas are great. The burrito is amazing. They prepare the food when you order so you may have to wait, but it's totally worth it and you can taste the difference. The pupusas are delicious. I could live a long, happy life off the pupusas! I was seriously craving some authentic Mexican tacos. As stated many a time before, I am a bit of a Mexican food connosieur/snob since I am from south Texas. I knew there were several taco trucks in Seattle, but didn't know quite where to find them, let alone which one was closest. Then I remembered the craptastic little place I always make fun of right by the Ballard bridge. I was desperate. I figured, what the hell? Why not? So off I went to the little taco stand. .99 tacos?! WHAAAAT?! I got two with the thought that if they sucked it wasn't much of a loss. They very much did NOT suck. They were phenomenal. The one complaint was a bit too much onion, but whatever. I just scraped the excess off. The green sauce was good; I didn't try the red (it looked scary to someone that is not a fan of spice). They had very Mexican music playing, but surprisingly, it was not annoying (and this coming from someone who isn't really a fan of Mexican culture). DO NOT COME HERE! Placed a very large order after this place was recommended by a coworker. My friend went to go pick up the order and they forgot a part of the order. This in itself is fine...it's a big order, it happens. But what was not okay was when my friend went back to pick up the order, the ladies made fun of him for no reason. They made comments in Spanish thinking he wouldn't understand, but news flash buddy.. it's 2020 and people can speak multiple languages. This is highly unprofessional and just plain mean. read more

First off, the beans here are really good. My kids love them, and I do too, for that matter. Also, the couple that work here are really nice. Now, I have only had the tacos here, and have not tried the other items off of their menu as many of the other esteemed yelpers have done. Specifically, I have tried the carnitas, al pastor, and chicken tacos. The chicken was good, but the carnitas and al pastor are not what you would expect. They are not necessarily bad, but they are not really carnitas and Al Pastor. In short, do I know better places? Yes. Would I go back again? Most definitely. Let's support this couple! read more

The address is not posted correct on yelp. We walked away with no food and a lot of wasted time and money we paid for their deal. We ended up paying our money to another company that stood behind their advertising. We also tried to call them many times before we arrived to find their location. Good taco truck in Ballard and for Ballardites. I find it comparable to Rancho Bravo. The meat is slightly different (not much), but they have a LOT better guacamole (and you get a ton of it), and I really liked the sauces. I used to drive all the way to Rancho Bravo before I discovered this place, just have my tacos be cold by the time I got home. So this is the perfect place for my little round taco delights. Really happy we found this one. Tacos are 99 cents. Tough to beat. read more

I have passed by Taco Loco many times but I'm always heading the wrong direction but this weekend I had a jones for a torta so I headed down for a try. I love a good torta and theirs had both good and not so good traits. I ordered the Torta Loco con carnitas and man is that thing HUGE! It has to be almost twice the size of any other taco truck torta but is also pretty pricey at $7.50. They add plenty of avocado and the flavors are nice. The not so good is that the pork wasn't what I would call carnitas. The pork appeared pale and tasted pale, not the charred goodness you usually would get. It made me wish I had gone with the chicken. I also got a side of beans and rice to share with The Wife. The rice was so-so but I did like the flavor of the beans very much. I spoke with the owner and he said that he is going to start being open 7 days a week here very soon and he is going to be adding ceviche in different preparations. I want this place to survive. The owner is very personable and we don't have many options for quick, cheap Mexican. I will visit again and give some of his other options a try but it won't be carnitas. They call it a Torta. I call it a stomach destroyer. For $7 my dude & I split it along with 2 $1 tacos & 2 $2 somethings. This was a bad plan. The torta is superlarge! It alone could have fed us. And delicious! I shiver with delight at the thought of the $8.50 torta that comes with pepper jack, guac & other deliciousness. The $1 tacos were a little forgettable, although the chorizo was nice. We also got it to go & the red & green hot sauce was hot love! The $2 somethings were well worth the extra cash as they were again, ridiculously huge and came with sour cream & guacamole. This place is located in a desolate little strip near the Ballard bridge. There is a pretty sweet taco van set-up w/ multiple tables, chairs, napkins, s & p, COVER, and all that other fancy stuff. Oh ya! Now here's a taco truck I can get behind. Cheap, delicious, and convenient. Yes, they're in a gravel parking lot on 15th ave, leave your lowrider on the street. I stopped in for an assortment of tacos and a tamale a couple weeks ago. Some of the better Mexican food I've had. The pastor was seasoned great and juicy, the carne wasn't dried out. The chicken tamale was a bunch of chicken in it along with a bit of pepper. This will become my new goto for tacos. Grab a growler at Hilliard's around the corner and call it a night. They also have a small covered, "carport/hooch" dining area with a TV playing futball. read more
