I got to try this food truck during my work catering event, and liked their taco a lot! I got 3 tacos (beef, pork and chicken), all were all tender and juicy! They were loaded with pickled onion, cabbage and tomatoes, and the tortillas were tough enough to support the loads! My friend got the beef burrito and we were both surprised by its size. "It's HIGE!" He said. "I KNOW, dude!" I replied. To my surprised, he finished the whole thing + a pint of beer. We tried this place when they came to Orenco Taphouse in Hillsboro. We wanted to get the panuchos but they were all sold out so we settled for chicken tacos (3 for $6) and a big chicken burrito ($8). The food was good - not the best I've had but pretty darn solid. The rice and beans in the burrito were nicely seasoned and the chicken was actually tender. Pretty good price for the quality and quantify of food you get. The hot sauce was super hot - not for me - but the spice fiends will enjoy it for sure. read more

You know you're having a great Monday when a taco truck unexpectedly pulls up outside your office. Usually we get the food truck folks here on Fridays when I'm not working so I always miss out. Today my little Lean Cuisine lunch can stay parked in the freezer. I'll get to you tomorrow. The menu was a little sparse, but my chicken tacos on homemade corn tortillas were supremely delicious. Came here on a friends recommendation a couple weeks back and had the Panucho. The Panucho is filled with black beans, shredded chicken, pickled onions, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and cabbage, over a fried corn tortilla. Presentation is very colorful as for the pliability of the tortilla it was a little difficult but after eating the first one you get used to it fairly quickly. The flavors are very symphonic on your taste buds as the more you eat into it the more difficult it is to want to stop because its so good! I am very impressed with this guys work considering he does all this work basically in a box trailer converted to a miniature kitchen. You can see the passion in his work and his smile he truly loves what he does. I would definitely recommend this place if you love hole in the wall mexican joints. Pricepoint is very reasonable and for a few dollars you can get yourself a fairly filling meal. Happy Eating Everyone! read more

Walking up to the cart, you can tell this is Elloy's passion. He's always smiling and happy to serve anyone who comes by. I sampled a shrimp ceviche, placed on a fried corn tortilla. For added kick, I could add some of his cart-made habanero sauce. Delicious and explosive. The habanero sauce bites back, but the diehard chileheads will still appreciate all that wonderful flavor. The perfectly fried corn tortilla is extremely stiff and gave a great textural contrast to the dish. It felt like I was eating a gigantic chip with shrimp salsa. Arguably, one of Elloy's best dishes is the panucho, filled with black beans, shredded chicken, onions, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and cabbage. Again, it appears to be a fried corn tortilla or shell of some sort. This one, however, was pliable to pick up like a taco. This was also great, refreshing in its own way with a pile of fresh produce. Awesome shredded chicken. Beautiful presentation. I heard from Todd at the neighboring Ole Latte Coffee cart that Elloy wanted to challenge me on how well I handle my spice. Elloy would be getting some fresh ghost peppers and making a spicy puree for some of his dishes. He mentioned a scrumptious salad that would be the perfect canvas for this one. I look forward to it! Oh, and Elloy has gargantuan-sized tostada bowls! Can you imagine the Aaron-sized taco salad that can be made? That edible bowl is literally the size of Elloy's head! This is the first foray into the biz for this young guapo running the cart, and he's been doing the dang thang all of three weeks now but ay caramba! Does he have an enviable skill set in place! I went w/the cactus tacos and the panuchos puercos. The pork was shredded and super tender and muy delicioso! The cactus flesh is quite similar in color, taste and texture to somewhere between stewed green bell peppers, and pepperoncinis. Furthermore, the cacti spines make for excellent tooth-picks (kidding! I didn't come all the way to Portland to eat tacos, but I can't pass up good looking food. They also have tortas, burritos, and tortilla bowls. These fabulous tacos, and the wonderful coffee cart next door, are the main two reasons, besides my family, that I ever miss Portland. Can't beat the price and the quality of the food is outstanding! This food cart has moved to the 3rd and Stark food cart pod, and wow, do I feel lucky that they are so near my work! When I saw that the tacos had cabbage, not lettuce, I knew I was in for a treat, and the food did not disappoint. The panuchos, as others have mentioned, are awesome, but the pork tacos are omg delicious. A corn tortilla, seared on the grill, and topped with shredded, moist, flavorful pork, finely shredded cabbage, and red onion is about as good as it gets. This is not your average Americanized "Mexican" food. This is food that wouldn't get you beat up if you tried to sell it in that country to the south, whatever its name is. From the tacos to the tamales, you can't go wrong. Do yourself a favor and go there before the lines form. read more

Taco salad bigger than my head, and I ate the entire thing! I couldn't stop. The tortilla bowl is fried when you order it, and it's perfectly crispy and chewy, yet somehow not greasy. The chicken has delicious flavor, and all of the veggies are fresh. Get it with avocado because everything is better with avocado. The horchata is fresh and perfectly sweet (not too sweet). One tip for finding this cart - it's located on the Stark side of the pod. read more

Got the pastor and the meat was incredibly tender and juicy, the black beans were appropriately beany (as opposed to those places that are ashamed of the flavor of beans. You know what I mean.), the cabbage subtle and rich and juicy and crunchy, and the hot sauce is not the for the timid. My lips are burning from the habanero as I type, and it is a glorious feeling. The $9 chicken burrito was bland. The hot sauce was mild. The black beans weren't drained all the way. Had better.

This food cart is all out on its own away from the central food cart block, but it's well worth the walk! I got a steak burrito delivered super quickly, and the steak was a little bit on the salty side, but the rice was fresh and clean to balance it. The best part though was the cabbage slaw, which was crisp, tangy and sweet, and very different from your typical burrito-to-go. And for a smooth $5.50, I'm craving it all over again. Very good little cart! Panuchos are the specialty but there are other typical Mexican items as well (tacos, burritos, etc). The panuchos are amazing with the rest of the menu being average or above. If the rest of the menu were as good as the panuchos I'd give them a 5. Price is also right at this place, a food cart actually charging food cart prices. read more
