I ordered the combo plate with TWO large pupusas revueltas (mixed meat, beans, and cheese). They were cooked to perfection and it came with a side of rice and beans. Gives wrong change!! Make sure you count your money when they try and give it back. I got a super burrito (9.95$) and I handed her a 20$ bill and she proceeded to only give me back 2 dollars. I like this place. I was in the neighborhood at the post office across the street and noticed this place. It was around lunchtime and figured I might as give this place a try since I had time to kill. Keep in mind that the parking on the street is metered so if you are going to a business in the are you are most likely only going to have an hour at the meter. Anyway, I headed across the street to check out this spot. You walk in and you immediately notice how small it is. Maybe 15 people max can sit inside this place. The next thing that I noticed was that there are only two people working at the time I arrived. There is one male and one female worker. When I approached the counter I was immediately addressed by the male worker. I ordered the super burrito which seemed like the right choice for me but unfortunately I could not get it with black beans, SMH!!! Once the food was ready I was out. This was the first place that I had been to in which I paid under $10 bucks for a super burrito! When I finally got a chance to eat this burrito I was cool. The lack of black beans was a bit disappointing but the other flavors in the burrito eased my pain. The chips included with the meal was a nice touch as well. Not the biggest burrito but definitely well proportioned. Had to take an hour siesta after, if that makes a difference. Well, good lunch and inexpensive, that is WIN in my book. The food we ordered was flavorless. I got the regular burrito with chicken and taco de cabeza. The salsa did not taste like anything too. They also overcharged me and when I asked for a receipt they said they already submitted the order so they couldn't print out a receipt. Then I pushed for a receipt. They ended up writing the items on a written receipt. Upon revision they said they charged for "regular tacos" and a "super burrito" instead of the regular burrito. They weren't busy so they wouldn't have the excuse of dealing with other customers when making this error. read more

Just go, I have been going here for many years and they just don't disappoint. The menu is broad and authentic. All the meats are consistently good and they even do machaca for breakfast and fried tacos dorados which are a staple in Southern California and hard to find up north. They just remodeled as of January 2020 and the place has been transformed. I didn't recognize the it when I walked by and I thought it was a new juice bar or cafe it looks so nice. read more

Hands down AMAZING! Ate here with my boyfriend and mother in law! I cannot believe how delicious everything was! Even the shrimp on the on the super michelada were good. This is how unbelievably good this place was. I had the aguachile. The shrimp were immaculately clean , the onion and cucumber were cut perfectly and they even added about a half of an avocado on top! Worth every penny! We also had some of the ceviche mixto too which was also amazingly good! The octopus, shrimp, and all the fixings were extremely fresh and delightful! Updating my review cuz I've been there numerous times since my last Review.As you know I've always order the burritos and the cheese pupusas, I found out this is mom and pop restaurant he makes everything fresh so if you dine in just be a little bit patient. Because the food is worth the wait it gets kind of busy especially on the weekends,so if you have time during the week go have a early lunch they open up 9:30am. I just found out that he will cook if you are having a an event just call in and he'll do the order that way you have enough time. I was there a couple weeks ago this guy had a huge order for a conference meeting the food smells so good I was starving I waited 30 minutes before he took my order. lol I've eaten the cheese pupusas the chicken homemade soup just like when I make it.The carne asada chicken burrito are so yummy, one of my relatives who loves the homemade chorizo haven't eat it yet. but I heard its really good,and gives you a lot of food for the price so go check it out if you're looking for good homemade Mexican food. Instead, this small and cozy restaurant has an actual restaurant style atmosphere. From the menu, they do serve your typical Mexican and Salvadorean cuisines, including Burritoes. I had the Carnitas (Grilled Pork) Super Burrito. Again for $6.50, the burrito has the choice of meat and beans, tomatoes, rice, sour cream, guacamole and cheese in a flour tortilla. The meat was charred very nicely and the fillings were very fresh, but the chef overcooked my flour tortilla. As a result, my tortilla was burnt and leaves a funky flaming aftertaste Complimentary chips and salsa was also offered. Budweiser was on sale for $1.50 a bottle. Both my husband and I had GREAT super burritos--exactly as we ordered. My husband wasn't pissed because they put salsa inside the burrito or had whole beans instead of refried beans or GOD forbid... they put cilantro in! He was happy just chomping away at his burrito. When he's happy, I'm happy. It makes for a more pleasant dining experience. The service was wonderful. Family owned. Great chips. Hot sauce. What isn't there to like. My steak nachos were covered in Flavorless meat, Tasteless guacamole, watery sour cream and don't even get me started on the pointless pico!! The only thing that had any flavor was the tortilla chips!! My daughter's super steak burrito was mostly beans and rice. Also fyi they don't have black beans. Her burrito had so little flavor we cut it open and put it in a bowl so we could take out some of the beans and rice. I don't know it they were better before but no one cares anymore!! Look at the picture I added of a whole stem of cilantro that was in my nacho!! I just cut cilantro last night for my own dinner and I got get how you miss whole stems. Unless, you just don't care!! This place is a little hidden gem, great food that is prepared fresh with generous portions. With every order you get chips and salsa and most come with a heaping portion of homemade rice and beans. They are famous for their pupusas which are prepared fresh as ordered. There is a bit of a wait while it is prepared but it is well worth it as each order is freshly prepared. The chorizo is excellent and does not contain all the weird icky stuff chorizo is notorious for. The owner uses his homemade recipe and serves generous portions of it. There are several healthy soups including chicken , vegetable and menudo. The carne Asada tacos are excellent and fresh. You might have to wait a bit for a table when it's busy because this place has return customers and a relaxed atmosphere. Try it, you'll be back for more! read more

Burritos here? Heck Yeah! I dropped by today for lunch. Not wanting to hit the usual lunch haunts I took a slight detour down and up the block. To El Taconazo. Don't get turned off by the lack of street parking. this is a little lot in the back with plenty of lunch parking. Burrito was the thought and aroma of the day when I walked in That burrito was (and is now as I am eating it) a perfectly balanced carne asada burrito. When the plate arrived at the table I thought "too large for my appetite today". The burrito I received was only the regular size. But that regular size was over a foot long of pure made-to-order goodness. All wrapped in a fresh made tortilla. I post a pic later so you can see the tortilla. When I first saw it my eyes started to tear up with vision of grandma's tortillas on Sunday. The contents of the burrito were no less tasty. In the end I ended up finishing the whole plate. Ole! (burp, burp) The interior for El Taconazo is your standard small taqueria family business. Brightly colored and lit. Compact but not cramoed. Clean through and through. How do I know? I parked out back and the owner let me pass through. The kitchen and eating areas were both clean and ready. Even the floors are shiny. I'll beck back again!! Boxes of junk laying on the table where the menus are, and the guy taking orders used his bare hands to serve chips and salsa. They only have their house made salsa, it is very runny and got a good kick to it! Not for people who like mild salsas! I ordered the enchiladas, and was pleasantly surprised! This is a total gem. It does not look like much from the outside, but the inside is lovely. The service is amazing. It is tiny, so they are quick with everything. Ordering is a bit easier is you speak some Spanish. The food is incredible. We have made this our weekly taco lunch on the weekends! Every taco has been well seasoned and delicious. Highly recommend!
