If you are looking to have intimate conversations be prepared to speak a lot louder, the DJ booth by the front keeps it pretty lively, but difficult to hold conversations across the table. Open authentic Mexican soda is always refreshing, and if you're looking for a place that has soft serve margaritas this is one of them. Best Tortas on the northside! I've lived in Chicago my entire life. I've been to more taquerias than I can count. This one stands out. I keep coming back here and will continue to come back here all the time. No one makes a better torta anywhere. The bread seems to be delivered fresh every morning from a bakery, the meat is so soft and juicy while being flavorful. The sandwich shits perfectly in my hand. The chicken tacos here are amazing too. If you are having a movie night I suggest ordering steak nachos to go. This place is always busy at night time. Expect to wait for 10 minutes for yoru food. But trust me there is a reason why there are a lot of people waiting in line. The best part about this, is the lack of yuppies and hipsters. I have been a customer of this establishment for as long as I could remember. After they closed down or a couple of months I was excited to find out that they reopened. After going a couple of time I realized that there customer service was not the same. About a month ago I walked in and orders 4 tacos plain to go. The waitress said it would take 10 mins. Once my order was complete I noticed my tacos had tomatoes and lettuce, I told the waitress and she said well it just has tomatoes and lettuce. I said I ordered them plain, she rolled her eyes and took the tacos back. What kind of treatment is that? I waited and took my tacos once they were ready. I have since gone back but I feel I will not be as pleasant if I receive that type of service again. read more

I have been to this place a few times, and all the time, they messed up my order. Not only that, but all of the food was burned. Horrible. Apart from that, mickey mouse came out of nowhere. Big mouse just came running around the restaurant. Warning: Do not go there unless you want rat feces all over your food! Also, they charged me for chips and salsa, that i didn't even want. I made the mistake of having a taco made by Taconazo before having a taco made by any other restaurant, now no restaurant can compare to the carne asada made at el Taconazo. The avocado portions were generous, and each bite was wholesome. I absolutely loved the decor in this place, with painted chairs, masks and other decor of presumably Southern American origin. Thankfully the sweet lady behind the counter could understand English, it made it much easier to order dessert that was only listed on the wall as a poster. Fried Plantain - a little too soft for me as I'm used to crispy fried banana, but this is absolutely wonderful dipped in the included condensed milk. Nieve Frita (Fried Ice-cream) - it was this that blew me away. Look at the photo. Tell me that isn't the most gorgeous thing in the world. Whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and a light round of strawberry syrup and chocolate sauce over the fried ice-cream, all resting upon a frita 'plate' that soaks up the flavours and makes for the most heavenly bite.
