    Hígado encebollado QUEMADO!

This place food is getting worse and worse you order eggs sunny side up and they send over hard, you order something different like tacos de tripa suave they send extra crispy if you complain they don't care today 1/1/26 I ordered hígado encebollado y todo estaba quemado.

Two nails found in our horchata.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'm so beyond disappointed .. after pouring out 2 large horchatas to share with the family, we found two needles at the bottom of the cup.

I was on my home and wanted to stop for tacos. The eating area was pretty crowded on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the three-steak taco dinner with extra rice. The prices are reasonable. FYI Make sure to bring cash. No cards. Cash Only!!! My tacos and rice were well seasoned. Freshly made and delicious. Fast and friendly service.

I've been searching for a decent Mexican place in this neighborhood foe a few years now. I just can't find it. A great Mexican place is super clean, consistently delicious food and fair prices. I have been here twice and this is not it. I was starving and wanted a quick bite to eat. I wanted a gordita or sope. I called placed an order and picked it up. They have a parking lot which is great because it's hard to find parking on central Ave. It's cash only. Not great. I also ordered a side of rice. The gordita was good but the Carne asada was so salty. The rice tasted ok but had a spoiled smell. Please do not serve old food. The food is not cheap and it should not smell spoiled. I'm not sure if I will be back. I tried.

Quarantine review: I have finally returned from my 3 month hiatus from Yelp due to covid. I've eaten here multiple times and every time has been sooo good except for this time. So I'm sad to leave this review now, but I will update this review next time to see if anything changed. My bf got the steak burrito dinner and he said his meal was fire. I got my usual, carne asada taco dinner. I also wanted to try something new and all the pictures of the sopes looked good so I got one with al pastor. My taco dinner did not taste the same, and I'm going to assume its cause of this whole pandemic. The tacos were good, but the tortillas were hard. The rice was hard and lacking flavor. The beans were very good so I finished that first!! I had saved a taco for later that night and I microwaved it, and it ended up tasting better microwaved. I will say I love all their salsa, but my favorite is the orange one! The sopes was a disappointment. They pack on so much on top that I could barely even taste the meat. I mostly tasted the thick tortilla, the sour cream, and the veggies. I don't like mushy food so eating this was too much for me and I gave it to my bf. Maybe this was a bad day? I'm not sure. The past times I've eaten here was 5-star quality. Hopefully it will be better next time!

I first tried El Taconazo at a festival in Little Village. I liked them a lot when I went, so I had checked out their location in Melrose Park. The tacos there were way to salty and I almost took them off my list. With so much competition for tacos in Chicago, it would have been an easy decision. I decided not to to take them off my list and tried them again at their Fullerton location. There I fell in love with their carne asasa tacos, and didn't care for their lengua and al pastor, and told myself I would only order their carne Asada. Fast forward to this location on Central, I ignored my last experience and again ordered a lengua, al pastor and carne Asada Taco. All I can say is wow. All three tacos were executed perfectly and absolutely addicting. They start you off with chips and salsa with three salsa and a bowl of like wedges so you can munch on chips while you wait for your food. Their service was somewhat quick, a little slow but the place is full so it was expected. But the highlight of the night were these three tacos. Their carne Asada skirt steak and it is grilled perfectly. Topped with cebolla & cilantro with some red hot salsa and it's game over. Every bite is just perfect. I always make the mistake of ordering al pastor with cebolla y cilantro and it doesn't taste that great to me. I like ordering these plain with some red hot salsa as well. The cebolla and cilantro cuts the pork fat too much and takes away the flavor. The lengua is also delicious. Although I felt like they skimped me on some meat. This taco with cebolla y cilantro topped with green salsa with some Limon squeezed on top make for a perfect bite. El Taconazo will forever be our go to taco spot.

Really nice late open taco spot. Remember: CASH ONLY The chips and salsa are pretty good. Very filling to get three tacos plus eat all the chips and salsa. The tacos are great. Carne asada is great. Tripitas is great, and I'm sure theur other options as well. Nice staff too whom are comfortable speaking primarily in Spanish but do know some English too, given my Spanish isn't fluent.

Hey hey, found another taco restaurant that I liked! I love these type of authentic Mexican restaurants. No frills, no fusion crap, just some good ole tacos at very reasonable prices. I ordered my usual 3 taco dinner and I was very pleased. The steak tacos were tasty and so was the al pastor. The meat was flavored well and tender. You also get complimentary chips and salsa when dining in, which is always a plus. Their chips were nice and crunchy with a good blend of salt and 3 types of salsa were offered. The service was great. We immediately had a server attend to us seconds after we sat down even though the restaurant was a little busy at the time. She even checked on us a couple of times throughout. Great place for a low key family dinner. I will definitely be back.

AMAZING. Menudo and Steak tacos. 9am grubhub on a Saturday The Menudo came with everything you needed. Great flavor and clean. The steak had a grilled flavor that was amazing.

Terrible service. I specifically asked for chicken Milaneza and I got something else. I asked the gentleman for an extra salsa and he charged me .35 to my account AFTER I left the restaurant without a notice. Who the fuck does that? Many times I've got spoiled salsa from here. Get that straight before YOU start charging people for it without a notice.

Ordered from them few times. Today I got enchiladas and as I'm opening the enchilada ... a black hair inside... maybe it's a new garnish? Disgusting!!! Never again

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. We ordered chilaquiles; one with chicken and one with carnitas. It was not bad but way spicier than anticipated, and we like spicy food. Service was also not great. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options. Would actually go 4.5 stars based on those 2 factors, but gave the benefit of the extra half star due to how good our service was and the excellent flavor of the veggie sandwich.
