El Tap is an authentic Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is very attentive. Sunday thru Thursday they have specials from 2:30-6. (Drinks and food) We ordered Jalapeño poppers. They were just okay. They were commercial frozen poppers. I would have thought they would have made them fresh in house. The presentation however was great. Great use of garnish to make the Mexican flag. See picture! We will be back to try some of their other dishes that looked fantastic!

I've been here a few times while my husband gets his haircut next door. This is how they serve my drink (half full) until my husband comes and and orders one. He's always served a full drink

Ordered fajitas for delivery and it was drowning in oil. Mostly onion and teeny bits of chicken. Barely received but a very small tidbit of salsa despite 3 entrees. And an appetizer. Just seems like they have gone downhill. The refried beans seemed watered down. They used to be thick and the best around. New chef? New owners ? Something's not right !

Drinks after a long week.

Sat at the bar and had a few drinks with my wife. Good service. Had the fish tacos with corn tortillas and they were excellent. Only complaint was the bar area is noisy but overall a good experience.

Used to be our go to spot for Mexican food. My boyfriend and I got take out there last night and were disappointed. Two Chori Pollo dinners cost me $35. Quality wasn't there and barely any food. The manager was nice enough to re make it but it came out the same way.

I'll start by saying that El Tapatio isn't a bad choice when it comes to Mexican food. They certainly have an advantage over other Mexican restaurants, being in close proximity to where I stay from time to time. I've gotten food here a few times and none of my experiences have been phenomenal. Again their food isn't bad, I just happened to have had better and that basically sums it up. 3.5 stars and here's why... They do have a commendable angle when it comes to their brand. Lots of engraved decor, plaques, mats with their name on it and the interior is pretty special. Wooden tables and cushioned booths with archways, stained glass, tiles, and paintings all in Mexican fashion and the music to go with it. They do have an attractive drink menu, and are generous when it comes to their margaritas. I always see the bartender busy which is great. As for service, they should just be called workers instead of servers. I haven't had great service, as most of the boys here are younger and I suspect they don't take the job too seriously. I don't see them really go out of their way to fully cater to you but not a huge deal, this is no fine dining. I typically go for their Texas Fajitas which has steak, chicken, and shrimp for $16-17 and that's usually enough which also comes with chips and salsa even when you order to go and it's good! Ask for spicier salsa and you won't be disappointed. I've had higher quality meat and tastier fajitas in general but theirs is alright nonetheless. The Mocaljete for two is a whomping portion of food but I can't really say there were any major difference in flavor and thats a pattern here with their other entrees. It's not outstanding, perhaps not as exciting, but it does the job when you are in the mood. So, this may be a great place to enjoy some margaritas with decent Mexican food in a great environment with okay service but I can't say this is one of my favorite places get Mexican food. Not bad for takeout though because I'm nearby!

Best Mexican place in the area! Even when they're busy, the longest we've waited is 10 mins. Food is consistently very good!

I have been there 3 times. Food was average. The service was good and the food always comes out in time even in the rush hour.

We had our best experience yet when we visited last night. Service and food were better than on our previous visits.

Definitely good food and service. I frequent the place a few times per month with my family for dinner and lunch with friends.

We are up in Milford, New Hampshire visiting our daughter and son in law for Christmas. We met some…read morefriends and went to Amigos Mexican Canteen on South Street in downtown Milford. We arrive early and had some beers and cocktails, they were excellent. Our waitress, Courtney, was so nice. We talked about our families and she was so friendly. My wife had some fried shrimp and I had baked potatoes skins. Wow, they were delicious. She decided not to have a main because the shrimp and the chips and salsa. Everything was served hot and tasted great! I had a Steak Bomb burrito that was out of this world. So much food I couldn't finish it. My daughter had the Ruben Quesadilla which was another delicious meal. My wife actually had dessert, Flan and whipped cream. It tasted great! Great atmosphere to enjoy your family and friends! To end the night there was a karaoke DJ, Richie Rich, who had people come and sing! The people who sang weren't bad. My daughter and her friend got up to sing... not bad. Nice singing for "normal" people. We had a wonderful dining experience and Amigos made a great day better. If you're in southern New Hampshire, make sure to stop it at Amigos. You will not be sorry. Enjoy your family and your friends, they make life interesting. Happy life and safe travels! Enjoy each and every day!

We took a couple-year break simply because we're not in town nearly as much anymore. When we saw they were open again on Sundays, we were genuinely excited and decided to stop in today for old times' sake. First, the positives: the margaritas are still absolute fire. No complaints there at all -- they were fantastic and easily the highlight of the visit. That said, it's pretty clear the restaurant has changed ownership, and unfortunately a lot else has changed too. I ordered the Espinaca burger -- a burger I had waited years to have again because it used to be amazing. Today, it was very obvious that the patty was a frozen hamburger with toppings kind of tossed in its general direction. The quality that made it memorable is gone, and honestly, so is my desire to ever order it again. The appetizer was another disappointment -- clearly frozen, generic, and nothing like what Amigos used to serve. Our bartender/server, Andy, was kind and friendly, but he seemed stretched thin and behind on several tasks with a lot of people to manage, which didn't help the overall experience. For a $100 lunch, this was a real letdown. This just isn't the Amigos it used to be, and that's disappointing to say as someone who supported this place for years. I truly wanted this visit to feel like coming home -- instead, it felt like a reminder that something special is gone. Probably won't be back, which is a shame.
