El tequila is a very solid mexican restaurant in tulsa. It's better than your typical texmex and offers some pretty traditional flavors. I personally like their chile rellenos and add carnitas on top. The service is always fast but sometimes can forget some things. I highly recommend this business.

Went here for Cinco de Mayo tonight and surprisingly there was no wait despite it being filled up! Our waiter Luis was awesome and super efficient, and the food was delicious. I had chorizo street tacos but ate them before I even thought to take a picture, they were that good! For dessert, my fiancé and I shared the churros and they were a perfect dessert to split! We'll definitely be back!

I love this place. I go for lunch a lot and they have really good lunch specials. They recently updated the inside and it's more open. The prices have been raised a little but you still get great amount of food, fast service and it's always good and on point.

Pretty disappointing! This was almost the first time I took an entire order back and asked them to bring the cook and expeditor out to review the order for accuracy and to taste the slop they pushed out the kitchen yesterday. My order said it would be ready starting between 12:35pm and 12:45pm. I was there at 12:32pm, I walked in to pick up the order, there are a few booths with people but it's not slammed. I was told to go over to another area, so I walked over to a register area, no signs denoting "To-Go or "Order Pickup" or I would have gone straight there instead of waiting at the hostess stand wondering where to pick up from? A man after a minute or two came over asked me if I was picking up or placing an order. I advised my name for pickup and he said not ready I said no problem, I happily went to the bar to wait and was going to order a drink, so I thought. No one going in and out of the bar making drinks area greeted me or asked me if I wanted anything. So after the 3rd person back there who finally got close enough with the drink they were making, I asked if they did anything to go, as it had been 10 min already and I figured the food would be close to being done, the answer was no, she was at least polite. After about 10 minutes 2 orders came out, not mine still fine, I waited a few more minutes and mine came out and was put on the bar next to me. I ordered steak nachos with everything but jalapeños, the los flautas beef with beans and the el tequila dip with chorizo. The real bummer of the show was the stale not even close to crispy chips that came with the el tequila chorizo dip. I'm fairly certain that either you use the same ladle for the ground beef and chorizo or think your patrons wouldn't know the difference if you're mixing them or just messing up orders as I clearly tasted both meats. These chips I should have guessed would be a theme in my nachos. My steak nachos were just pathetic, floppy, sloppy, lukewarm warm and had 8 total (yes I took a picture) completely soaked chips at the bottom of some cheese sauce, with a pile of meat in the middle, some seriously sub par execution and guess what included a wet sloppy pile of jalapeños. The los flautas were beef (so that was right), which were sloppily put together lacking flavor, not crispy and I was given rice instead of the beans I ordered. Which I checked my order before submitting it that it was correct, I checked the name and receipt that it said what I ordered I was picking up when it was handed to me. I guess I should have opened the order and triple checked their work to ensure I was getting what I paid for. The amount of time it took me to get my order from their hands to my house was under 5 minutes. I'm of the opinion the food had sat for a while which is bad or this is the quality and execution they offer on the regular which is way worse, either way there's no reason for me to return here

El Tequila offers a large menu of affordable Mexican food and margaritas. The food won't blow you away, it's pretty standard, but a great bang for your buck. The lunch specials are a great deal and the servers are friendly!

Blah.. Blah... So many reviews.. thought I would try it out.. Once again got bit by the "okie palate" :( So many other places to spend your money in the area better than this Tulsa/BA. Typical Mexican food watered down. This is cheap Mexican food... rice...beans... tortillas and Canned cheese sauce... but their lunch "specials" are all over $9.00... so not only is the food bland and not seasoned it's also overpriced!.. 1 star rating based on quick efficient service with a lunch crowd.

Haven't been here in a while so we decided to pop in for lunch. Prompt and friendly greeting and was taken to a nice booth where the host then took our drink order. Our server quickly brought our drinks and asked if we wanted queso or a guacamole. Instead I ordered the Ceviche and it was so good. I ordered their lunch Carnitas while she had the Steak Mexicana. My carnitas were awesome. Very tender and full of flavor and a good portion for a lunch serving. Her steak was topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese and was very good as well. Not sure why we haven't been here in so long because I will definitely come back soon. Oh and also saw a 1 star review that was given yesterday about bad service and rude staff. Not sure what that person saw but everyone today was prompt and very friendly.

Manager denying any responsibility for fraudulent charge on my credit card.

Make sure you check your bank statement. Mysterious double charge for two different amounts. They blamed everyone else(my bank and their bank) besides themselves. It was two separate charges not add on after the tip. My bank has contacted them and they have yet to respond. Good food though just make sure they don't steal from you. Update: This is the response I received from the manager. He continues to say it's not their fault. I contacted my credit card company and they have quite a different story. This business seems very shady.

Very delicious food was great I almost fell coming in the door so be careful it's slippery we walked in with no masks and we didn't have to put one on when we entered but we were chased by a flying fish eating a pineapple.

There's a parking lot in this plaza, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. They offered complementary chips and dips (salsa and queso). We ordered additional guac. They were generous with the birria and the consome is chefs kiss!!! The staff did a wonderful job in assuring our needs were met and that we were satisfied. Really good and would order again. Rice and beans were probably above average. My dining partner asked how the chile relleno was prepared. (He doesn't like the eggy batter.) We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. I would go back when in south Tulsa. Not sure I would make it a destination. (Well, maybe. Those enchiladas were good! It is a cute place.

As what was stated over the phone, the moment we walked in, we were seated. The place is very intimate in space, I'd recommend for dates. I went with the Enchiladas, something I've been craving for a couple of months & La Tertulia helped that fix. There were a few meats to choose from & I went with chorizo. The wait on the food wasn't long (people were starting to fill in as well & it didn't stop the servers from being on point) & the food was really good. Coming in with 3 enchiladas, stuffed with the chorizo & the fixins, I was left full after I finished. The spanish rice & pinto beans were good as well, paired good with the enchiladas. The chorizo looked more like breakfast sausage more than the chorizo that's more on the dark brown + reddish tint I'm used too. The enchiladas also come with chiles (I picked green) & plenty of cheese. Side Note: Chips & salsa were also super good, my favorite type of salsa. Kinda like a Taquera/Molcajete style. I was so hungry that the chips & salsa didn't slow me down from running through my main entree.

The menu features many Mexican food favorites. Enchiladas, burritos, tacos and more. They're cooked well and served in large portions by a helpful server. A note - some of the dishes are plain and include a protein charge. I'm not a huge fan, but I'm okay with it if it's explained. I was confused during my visit because my enchiladas listed a $2.50 protein charge, but the protein charge was for each enchilada not the plate, so my three enchilada plate was $7.50 more than it was listed because I asked for chicken. I don't necessarily feel cheated, however I was surprised when the server gave me the bill. $2.50 is one thing. $7.50 is a lot more.

It's not a large place and only has perhaps four or five booths and a half-dozen tables, and it fills up fast at lunch. They're known for their "Wet Burrito," but the enchiladas and burritos are also outstanding. The refried beans are fresh and made in-house. The salsa is freshly made too and very good, but not memorable like the food.
