I don't often go to this location but we decided to go after church to celebrate my fathers birthday. I was completely and totally satisfied with our server Ricardo. He was very welcoming and friendly. Absolutely attentive and would always come to ask if everything was okay or if there was anything else he could do for us. I usually like El Toritos but this location gives the brand a bad name! Food cooked quite differenlty than other El Toritos (e.g. TONS of chunky onions in everything and even chunky onions in things don't usually come with onions!). Surely, they could have finely chopped the overpowering ingredient but my problem was I don't eat onions. After sending my plate back twice because of the onion problem, and still getting too many onions in the food, I gave up and just sent my food back. Management was lackluster and unsympathetic to our unhappiness. He did comp some of the meal but a few dollars off was hardly a dent in making it better. I will never eat at this location again...plus it is in an area that does seem all that appetizing. read more

The experience with this location is not the business. We had three servers come and wait on our table. The third waiter was the best out of the all of them. For the price of the food it tasted like the cooks have reheated in the microwave and the Sprite that I had tasted like club soda. They took too long in serving and waiting on us. so let me tell you all about the horrible experience i just had at el torito...it pissed me off so much i felt the need to come home and immediately yelp lol but for real if you read my other reviews you will see i am a stickler for customer service and the service here SUCKED. first of all it took forever for someone to acknowledge me, forever to get waited on , etc etc you get this gist every single thing took forever. now keep in mind its 2:30 in the damn afternoon on a wednesday, its not crowded at all and im in the cantina for the happy hour. First i order a regular margarita, $3, good price cant beat. I order it on the rocks..fine drink that one down, its time to order another and here is where things really go left. i finally get the slow pokes attention and order another, you know how you just get a feeling, well i could already feel she was looking at me funny as if i were drunk or something and shouldn't have another but keep in mind ive only had one watered down margarita no way in hell im possibly drunk. i go ahead and order another its blended, now this blended taste even more watered down but i can still taste tequila. eventually i knock over the drink because the hook/button on the cuff of my sleeve caught it on off it spills to the floor. I sat there no less than 3 minutes with no assistance. This is important because im showing you how much no one was around. I didn't get up myself as it was pouring into my lap and i felt getting up would have caused more "damage". She finally pops up and says Oh and just looks at me and it as if "im not cleaning that up" ..i say can you please go get someone or bring a rag or something. do you know this bitch grab some of the little flimsy cocktails napkins, placed them on the table and bounced 0_0 ...say what??? like really even though its a part of someones job at the restaurant (i guess not hers) you cant even send someone to clean it up?? she finally comes back and does take all the many napkins i used to clean up and throws them in the trash but whoopty fuc*in do...she then says do you want another i say yes. now she brings me another blended one and there was NO TEQUILA IN IT!!!!. and when she brings it back to the table she then talks to me like a 2 year old and says "now you be careful with this one" in a very condescending manner. i then explain to her as she is walking away by the way cuz she didn't give a damn that i was responding to her little effed up tone...that my cuff caught... I was so pissed and then to take the first sip and realize it was no tequila was in it i was pissed!!. its clear she thought i was drunk and felt the need to "Cut me off" and try to fool me. i just wanted to get the hell out of there then when i finally flag her down again and ask her for the check it then takes her forever to bring the check and forever to come back for the card. I couldn't take anymore at this point so my attitude clearly showed when she brought back my card. she then tries to make nice (id be willing to bet because its tip time) by saying ohhh your all wet.. heffa ive been wet and had you properly had someone come clean up you would have seen this. The name on my receipt said Sandra ...well she sucks and NO she didn't get a tip...im going to have to find another happy hour or at least try to sit at a table where another server is working P.S. i have been here once before and my service was ok, nothing stellar but not bad either which is why i didn't bother yelping and the margaritas were NOT watered down that time nor did someone try to fool me with lack thereof read more

I don't know what has happened to this place in the last couple of years, or if they hired a new chef, but whatever happened was a terrible mistake. This place has never had great service. The staff have always been rude. But now the food is horrible. We spent $90 last night and left the food there. We ordered nachos, sizzling enchiladas, and a carne asada burrito. The beans had a really bad flavor which killed the nachos, and the cheese smelled and taste rotten. I have never experienced anything so bad. I had gone there once before and my daughters got hot wings that were under cooked and as a matter of fact the food was bad then also; I just assumed it was a bad day. But last night sealed the deal for me. The chicken in the enchiladas had a really bad taste. It all taste like the food was rotten, and bc I tried to still pick at it and eat a little bc I was hungry, I was sick when I got home. Third strike with me, I will never go back to this location. I wish I took a photo because the nachos I ordered were just a disgrace. I avoid all El Torito chains, the few times ive been it's always been watered down and white washed. This was a celebration so I ordered chicken nacho, the salsa that was put on my nachos tasted like spaghetti sauce, the cheese wasn't melted all that great, the chicken was cold, chips were decent. My brother didn't like his burrito either that had the same spaghetti sacue. read more

First off I must state that for dietary reasons I am temporarily off all animal products of any kind. I know this can be annoying and I try to get the easiest menu items so that it won't be a headache. This time I got the nachos, with no meat or cheese. Simple enough. The waitress was really understanding and really attentive. My friends food came out before mine and we waited several minutes and my nachos still hadn't come out. The waitress went to see why and she said they had to redo them b/c they had accidentally added cheese. Which was fine I get it, they're used to putting the cheese on top. When I finally got my food a cook or idk who from the back brought them out and he seemed mad and pretty much tossed my plate at me! He was incredibly rude!! In an area with so many great Mexican restaurants it is surprising that El Torito is as busy as it is. I came on taco Tuesday with a group of 11 that had made a reservation in advance. We were told that we'd have to wait "because it's packed", which apparently means about 1/2 full to the staff of El Torito. I was promptly reminded of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry wound up in the same situation. We were seated after 15 minutes or so, but only managed to get a waiter to pay us some attention after a half hour of trying to wave someone down. Drinks and tickets to go to the taco bar followed another 15 minutes after that. All told, we didn't eat a think for an entire hour and had to work pretty hard just to make that happen. The waiter's attitude was apathetic at best and quite frustrating. I would give one star, but our waiter was eventually replaced by someone that was far more attentive. Hopefully he is more representative of the rest of the staff. I give them the benefit of the doubt and two stars. read more

What can I say, Jose in the bar is amazing! My girlfriend and I always come here for Taco Tuesday's - the service is the best. Jose is very attentive and knows how to handle the craziness here. Can't wait to go back! The food is alright, but the experience I've had and will continue to have will be great, I'm sure. My husband went to El Torito for me to order food to go. I'm pregnant and was craving shrimp fajitas. He pays over $20 checks the food and it's chicken fajitas. Someone walks back in and tells the waitress that they didn't order shrimp fajitas. So the waitress got our food mixed up. Then she thinks that it's ok to just switch the food instead of making us both new ones. Her name was Jeannie, very unprofessional. So my husband tells her to make new shrimp fajitas. She makes him wait pretending that she placed a new order, but brings him back the same shrimp fajitas. How do we know? Because the food was cold when she brought it out. I'm disgusted. How do I know if the man who order chicken fajitas put his hands in the food, or did something to the food. I want my money back, and I will never visit that location again! read more

I went here last night & ordered the sizzling chicken, tasted it good however it was spicy. I sent it back because I don't do spicy at all. I explained to the waiter that I don't do spicy at all & ordered chicken and sour cream to go. I got home today, heated my food & my refried beans are spicy! Damn! came here for happy hour & our server was extremely rude. didn't ask us if we wanted water & barely even acknowledged us! we had to wave down another server (looked like a manager) to take our order since our waitress was too busy laughing & joking around with her other employees instead of attending to her guests. so rude. thankfully i'm here from out of town so i'll never be here again. really disappointing considering i've always had a great experience at the el torito chain. employees definitely need a refresher course on customer service. only positive thing about this visit was that our drinks were very good, the blackberry margarita was delicious. read more

Love this El Torito! The staff is really friendly and welcoming. It is apparent that the manager, Frank, really cares about what he does and the customers that come to his restaurant. My glass of water was never empty & my chips and salsa were always refilled as soon as I was starting to run low. I think that's really important. The blended strawberry margaritas here are the best. I came here for my anniversary and when we arrived we went to sit near the bar I was told that the section was closed then I went to sit some where else and again I was told that I couldn't sit there either so we sat some where else and again I was told I couldn't sit there. So I was "What the fuck I told three times that I couldn't sit where I wanted." I asked to speak to the manager she told me that there weren't any servers in that section. Pretty good for the price! We decided to sit at the bar to minimize time between margherita blending and our faces. Our waiter Damian was very attentive and helped us immediatley with everything we needed. my only complaint was that the food could have been heated a little longer. i got the three enchilada combo and my girlfriend got the macho combo. i think perhaps they started them at the same time but the macho took longer so my enchiladas cooled a bit. read more
