There are a few things you can count on when you visit this location. 1. Wobbly, sticky tables. I do not know if El Torito has anymore functioning tables. Every table you sit in is literally a balancing act throughout your dinner. Also, the tables are disgustingly sticky. 2. Horrible service. I mean I order a burrito, it takes 40 minutes, and it comes with only meat inside. How do you forget the other items that go inside? Not to mention appetizers come cold, and the servers give attitude. The sad part is when you mention that they mess up the order they offer to fix it but you need to wait another 40 min and they still charge you full price. 3. Mediocre food. read more

Its useless to book with opentable if they accommodate someone w/o reservation. We came in first but they attended the group w/o reservation who just walked in. After being seated our server was Mario who appears to be always rushing and does not pay attention to us. He messed up our order and took a long time to attend to our needs, but noticed that he takes his time with other tables. This is by far the worst service we received. They have happy hour EVERYDAY from 3-9pm and I can count on this place to satisfy my every craving. Greg makes KILLER margaritas and the chips and salsa are magnificent. This place has really improved during the pandemic and I was pleasantly surprised by all the tasty items included in our recent buffet from the catering menu. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portions. The carnitas and all meats were juicy, enchiladas were fantastic. Plus they did an excellent job in packing the food so everything arrives nicely with no leaks, etc. The salsas were fresh and tasted better than the generic flavors and not fresh salsas that we have had at restaurant pre-pandemic. First of all. The price. The price is fucking lit. $26 for all you can eat breakfast buffet AND bottomless mimosas?? Slap me upside the head and send me to bed. This beautiful b kept my glass full with a smile and even told me which dishes have cheese. I can't eat cheese. That's a whole other story. Cry for me. Well here once again, we came here I believe 3 months ago for brunch and it was a bad experience! Literally took over 30 min to get our drinks and then when he came back he brought one of the drinks wrong and waited another 15 min for it . Fast forward to now..... have my timer on today . So far we waited 10 min before someone acknowledged us but before asking what we wanted. They ask 2 other couples that got there after us . Well we have our drinks now but still waiting on the menu . About 4 months ago, I was on my way out of the restaurant, very disappointed with the waitress and the fact that she dismissed me as I sat at the table waiting to be served. The hostess by the front door asked me to wait so she can get the manager. The manager (Vanessa) came out and was very sincere with her apology and asked me to stay so she can make sure that I receive the best service. Her and another waitress was very attentive to my needs and turned everything around to a very good experience. Just had a meal this past Sunday there and was disappointed with the chilaquiles on their menu. Normally I expected them to be prepared as the uncooked chip were placed in the pan and then add the sauce later as they are browning. Terrible experience! The food tasted awful, and the service was horrendous. I ordered a very simple salad that was drenched in dressing with hardly any of the ingredients listed on the menu. Very disappointed since we've had wonderful experiences at other El Torito restaurants. I will never return and will never recommend this location. read more

You can't go wrong with El Torito. My parents in law from Texas love coming here when they're in town. In my younger years it was a perfect happy hour place. Now I come here with my family and it's super kid friendly. The food is great and the staff here is always sweet. They even have car seat slings to set a car seat up at chair level. read more

So..bf and I were looking for a different happy hour place on Monday. We landed here. It was fairly busy, with only one waiter in the bar area. He was definitely busting his ass off. We got to seat ourselves, and he rushed over and handed us some menus, and chips and salsa. Yummm. Their chips and salsa was actually pretty damn good. Warm salty chips, and that chunky with a hint of spicy salsa. Dericious! Anyway, we were only there for drinks, and they have $4 house margaritas, and a dollar extra if you want to make it premium. Premium is just using better tequila haha. They have different flavors such as strawberry, pineapple, coconut, raspberry, and lime. I believe. You can mix and match as well! Bf got the house premium margarita, and I did a mix and match of raspberry and pineapple. *While bf and I were munchin' on our yummy chipz n salsa*...our waiter comes by and asks me, "You wanted the strawberry, pineapple and coconut right?" Me.."No, raspberry pineapple." *waiter is saying okay, while walking away..but I wasn't finished talking..* "PLEASE NO COCONUT!" I slightly raised my voice. Well, he comes back with our dranks..sure enough, there was coconut in it. D: D: D: I never once said coconut damnit! But, I just let it be. He did a very good job on coming back frequently. So i will definitely give him props for holdin' down the bar crowd. He also told us he'd bring back some more chips and salsa, and never did. Then came back and asked if we wanted more chips and salsa lmao. We ordered a round 2..bf same thang, and the waiter asked if I wanted the same. Before anything, I asked if he added coconut to the previous drink. He looked guilty and said, "yes." I told him, "pleaseeeee no coconut this time." Our drinks came out..and as I was about to drink mine, he swooped it away and said the bartender added coconut again. HOWWWW -_-_-_- BUT, I am glad that he checked. My drink was much tastier without the coconut :] When we were finished, he handed us a "lottery ticket" as he called it. It's basically a peel off ticket, and you could win a free appetizer, free meals, or even a free trip to the Caribbeans I believe it was. Either way, you'll win something. [Review for their Cantina] Like I have a choice, but ONE STAR for nice servers in the busy Cantina and extended happy hour... but R.I.P stomach :*( If you skim down the menu during happy hour, all the food items range from $2(tacotuesdays)~$12 per platter, and that's for regular food. You skim down to guacamole, by itself, and it's a whopping 7 bucks.. Which means only one thing: it's possibly the only thing they make from scratch? - $3 premium margarita is super sour and they garnish it with a lime, is that really necessary? - Chicken wings and chicken tenders both have the same "buffalo" marinade that is extremely tangy and inedible. I find myself chasing it with tortilla chips. Is THAT really necessary? - The taco bar had a really friendly server who stood there and guided me on how everything works, but the meat was pretty stale. There is also a flat grill where he makes fresh tortillas out of dough, but my tortillas were tough and cold. Hmm... El Torito, I think you were better off with generic Mission tortillas. Came here for the first time last week for dinner with my mum. We got a flyer in the mail advertising their "El Torito Trio," which is a 3-course meal for $12.99. They offer two choices for Starters and Desserts, with three choices for Entrees. Apparently it's only available for a limited time, although the flyer didn't give an end date. STARTER: You have your choice of their House-Made Tortilla Soup (Pepe's original recipe made fresh every day! Chicken broth, tender chicken, garden-fresh vegetables, jack cheese and fresh avocado) or the Mexican Caesar Salad. We both went with the soup. -- I thought the soup was pretty decent. It's warm and filling, there is definitely a good amount of chicken and veggies in there, and it's cheesy! I also liked the crunchiness that the tortilla strips added. Only one slice of avocado though :/ ENTREE: You have your choice of Chicken & Sour Cream Enchilada and Beef Crispy Taco, Beef Taquitos and Chicken Flautas, or Carnitas Fajitas. (Esther) CHICKEN & SOUR CREAM ENCHILADAS + BEEF CRISPY TACO: Tender chicken simmered and smothered in a savory sour cream sauce topped with cheddar cheese. Served with refried beans and rice. -- I wasn't a fan of the cream sauce that came with the enchilada, so I covered that taste with the salsa. Did I mention that they give you complimentary chips and salsa? Well, the salsa has a bit of a kick to it and is somewhat addictive. So it paired well with the enchilada :P I'm generally not a fan of tacos (I'm a burrito gal), but I actually liked this one. The beef is a bit dry but the rest of the taco toppings make up for it. I don't like beans so I didn't touch those, but the rice was really disappointing. It was very hard and dry, like it had been placed on the plate hours ago and just hardened onto the plate. No bueno. In addition to the rice and the beans they give you a scoop of corn mash. The corn mash (what is it really called?) is also on the dry side. I do wonder how long everything had been sitting on the plate before I got it... (Mum) CARNITAS FAJITAS -- This came with the carnitas/veggies/rice on a skillet, with beans/corn/guac on a small plate, and warm tortillas on the side. My mum said the meat was really dry and not flavourful. She ate her beans but didn't enjoy them. She was not a fan of her meal at all :( DESSERT: You have your choice of Mini House-Made Flan or Mini Deep-Fried Ice Cream. Our server said the flan is definitely better than the ice cream, so we both got the flan. -- We were quite full from our soup and entree, so we were glad that the flan was mini-sized. The flan comes with a caramel sauce and I thought it was pretty good. A nice sweet way to end the meal. While we left the restaurant completely full, we both felt a bit meh about our meal. My mum liked hers less than mine, so she said she would give El Torito 2 stars out of 5. I felt like it was more 2.5-star worthy, but I'm going to bump it up to a 3 since it seems like their HH is pretty good (I will come back to try that someday).
