The Sunday brunch here is really good! I definitely recommend coming here on a Sunday with bottomless mimosas and all you can eat. The quality of food for a buffet is excellent. I had to call three times before someone answered the phone, for her to tell me my order is not ready!! She said as soon as it was packed up she would bring it out. This was at 12:20. At 12:45 I called back four times with no answer from the restaurant! I walked in to see what the problem was... for my order to be Sitting on the table!!! Like Ready!!!! There were no Lines No People Waiting and you let my order just sit on the table as if I didn't ask for it to be ready at 12:00 noon. I Will Never give this Company my money Again!!! Came here to it some good menudo. It was a great place to eat . Came around 11pm I saw they had brunch hours. I think it finishes at 2pm . So we had time to get food and dessert yummy. I've came during happy hour and it was very busy, but Sebastian came to the front and seated us right away and took care of us, and offered a mojito flight which he said was one of the new drinks with different flavor of mojitos, and he said they're are refreshing. And he was Right those drinks where extremely good and flavors we ended up getting happy hour food and ordered salmon tacos and shrimp tacos. They were extremely delicious and the shrimp tacos had a nice cheese crust to them. Never had tacos like that and I've enjoyed them . Comfort food (and I'm not even Mexican). My date and I sort of ended up here by accident after walking out of another restaurant. Here, we were warmly greeted by a host. The Happy Hour and menu items looked so good that it was hard to choose. I asked our waitress, Carmen R (according to our receipt), for advice and then took it. BTW, loved her happy disposition. Of course, I couldn't see her mask covered mouth, but her eyes smiled beautifully. My date ordered a combination plate. Since I knew he wouldn't finish his beans and rice and I could steal some from him, I ordered 2 side dishes- chili relleno and sautéed vegetables; both were amazing. Carmen had recommended the chili relleno. Of course, this made me like her even more. Cost for value? That phrase is a bit confusing. Where do I begin? This has got to be the worst order ever delivered. 1. - they forget tortillas 2- they didn't include the ice- cream for my dessert 3- raw meat (I ordered it medium well) 4- a huge mountain of onions and tomatoes on the one dish I indicated "no garnish" no pico 5- the house margarita was. A joke.. it cane in a flat plastic container instead of a cup (it was more like a shot of margarita... they could have included a cup with ice, at least. 6- cant believe they had the audacity to send a burnt bread pudding.. Who does that????? I feel they owe me an apology, because I spent close to $100 for this terrible order. read more

Overall this is the worst el torito ever, and I've given it several chances but am always let down unfortunately. I won't drag my terrible server that I get stuck with every time in the bar area because that's not my thing, but I love to praise the good people! So if you do go here make sure to ask for Kenya M, she runs that floor like a boss and is so sweet and efficient, she ended up serving us after our server just avoided our table after he took our drink order. He never asked how drinks were, walked away from the table before asking everyone if they wanted to order, and again just never stopped again. But Kenya showed up and showed out, she's the best!!! Would not like to come here, but would come here if I knew she was gonna be our server! Again I don't like writing bad reviews because we see so many of those and not enough of the good praises, but I have really been let down by this location considering the Marina Del Rey location is exceptional as well as the Sherman oaks, and the now sadly closed Santa Monica location. Great experience at El Torito! Family all came in for brunch! The matriarch was celebrating her birthday and this is where she wanted her celebration! We slowly trickled in which I thought might be a problem but the staff quickly kept accommodating us! The party turned into over twenty adults plus about five children! Pretty large group that didn't even seem to phase our server! I wish I could remember his name... might be Manual but I'm not sure! Anyways, he was fantastic. He kept the Mimosas constantly coming for the ladies! The buffet has the regular items plus Menudo (very delicious), Pozole (needed alot of flavor), an omelet station which I heard was great and a taco station! My favorite was the Tacos de Carnitas with freshly made corn tortillas and the mini churros that I drizzled with caramel and whipped cream! My one complaint would be that people had to wait around for the food!! My dad sent me to get him some Enchiladas and I stood around for five minutes maybe more! Then there was a waffle incident.... they brought out three tiny waffles! THREE!! Lol! We all had a great time and basically that's all that really mattered! Our server/waiter did an awesome job! Coming here was okay. I ordered the three item combination platter. It consisted of a Beef Taco, Beef Enchilada, and a Chicken Tamale. The combo was also served with Refried Beans, and Spanish Rice. There was also complimentary Tortilla Chips and Salsa served. The proportions in terms of each individual item was quite small. Luckily I ordered the combo. My taco looked a bit beat up and greasy. The presentation of how a real hard shell taco should really look wasn't there at all. It tasted alright... Luckily for the larger chunks of beef. The shell of my was too mushy from the grease. My Beef Enchilada was good though. Same kind of meat, and lots of cheese on top. It was good, but wish it was bigger. And finally my Chicken Tamale was also okay. A bit too much corn maize flour they used to wrap, but again a bit small and not enough meat. My refried beans were good... since the majority was used as bean dip for my chips. And the Spanish rice was just plain. Didn't really touch it. The service was a bit slow. No silverware came even after the request, water refill was automatic, and the request for more salsa took awhile too. The waiter was nice but just weird that service was slow. And the restaurant wasn't filled to capacity. Btw, there was a small piece of wood in my food. More like a twig that's in my meat. I wasn't able to bite into it since it was hard. I figured It was probably a spice used to marinate the meat. I was only being informative and told the waiter. Anyhow, I didn't expect a complimentary meal or anything. Just the fact that something hard was in my food (twig). The manager gave us 20% off. Nice... why not. Yes, I would go back for my Mexican Food cravings because most places are only fast foods without the dining experience. Just don't have high expectations. But a strong two stars for now. We love the food here and wanted to have a dinner but today's experience was disgusting and very rude . My son has autism and asked the waitress to sit us at the outside table because my son can be a little loud and so I didn't wanna disturb other customers. This is where the hostess wanted to seat us in their "break room" which was another area of the location. Might as well we could go to their kitchen!!!!!! How embarrassing. I would like to share my horrible experience I was at the Pasadena Ca, location on 3/26/2024 at aprox 6 p.m. i went with my kids and I have to say it was the worst experience ever. to start my server not sure if I am pronouncing her name right I think it was Qiomara was very polite very attentive. on the other hand the food was just horrible 1 hours late, cold, had a what looked like a pubic hair, the presention was something you not even feed your dog I refused to eat. The manager there looked frustrated so I left. Please do better very disappointed. read more

$1 tacos!!! I came here with 5 other girls during happy hour for Tuesday tacos at 8:30pm. We each ordered tacos and and some guacamole and chips. Our tacos were delicious. They had carnitas, carne asada, and pollo. I love that you put on the salsas and onions on your own taco. I also love that they make the tortillas fresh right in front of you. For 6 people, our total was only $25! We were shocked. The restaurant was super pack but our waitress was pretty attentive. She kept refilling our salsa and chips. Servers Name: Kyle This is our " go to" Mexican restaurant when we are out all day and have our 7 year old daughter with us. The employees are really polite and the wait time is never bad. We went last night after a long day and we were seated right away and our waiter was extremely professional and knew what he was doing. He was very accommodating and kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. His name is Kyle . I don't remember if all of the waiters have a memory like his , but he didn't have to write anything down and he took our drink orders and dinner meals all at once . The drink I ordered wasn't quite how I'm used to it being made and I couldn't drink it . He took it back and let me replace it with another drink of choice without charging me for the first one . We were served in a timely manner and he got everything correct .I would have had to write things down. He even told our little girl that she could take her kids meal dessert home if she wanted to, because she was too full to eat it there .I thought that was sweet as many would have just taken her " no thank you" and left it at that .
