I have been to this location a few times this year. I always have a good experience. I love the food! The service is good too. Today my service was great! Stephani H was our server. She gave us outstanding service. It's those little extra touches that she made that gave us a great experience. She is very friendly and is always smiling. She gave us some great food and beverage recommendations. She made sure to check in a few times to refill our drinks and chips. (This should be automatic; but I often find myself asking the server to come to our table. Not with Stephani.) Stephani also Invited us to come back for the Sunday all you can eat buffet and experience their bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary's from 9am to 2pm. I would have rated a 1 based off the food not being good and the bad service experience the server provided, but the manager that seated us was nice. The chips had a weird taste. My carne asada tasted terrible. I've ordered carne asada before and it's never tasted this bad the previous times. The area we were seated in was so dark, one of the lights above was burnt out, I had to use my phone to see the menu. The guy that served us, started out with an unfriendly attitude and it continued. We had to ask for silverware after our food was brought to the table. He didn't offer refills. It was funny how Christopher (name from receipt) tried to act friendly when we were paying in front of the manager. If your food isn't tasty, at least have people working for you that want to provide the good service, or get out of the service industry. I wanted to check El Torito out since it's been awhile. If i could leave negative stars I would. Went there today for a large party brunch and the waitress was slow and didn't bring me my orange juice with the champagne for mimosa, when i asked for the orange juice she acted like it was a bother and when she finally did bring it the glass was less than half full and was dirty and had stuff inside it like she gave me an orange juice that someone else didn't finish. And also for the 2 girls at the tortilla bar, when I walked up for some tortillas they didn't say a word to me and when I asked for flour one of them asked me rudely how many, they then talked amongst themselves and were laughing, but not a hello or anything to the paying customer. If you aren't happy with your job then why are you there? I let the manager know about the orange juice and she apologized but by that time I didn't want another one and also lost my appetite. Maybe management should retrain staff to be polite especially to customers who are paying good money for food and drinks. And for the staff who are rude maybe you shouldn't work in customer service if you aren't happy with your job! This place use to be one of my favorite places and I never leave reviews but this really upset me and I won't be coming back to this location again! El Torito, your employees are a reflection of your company and I would think you wound want employees that make your company stand out.... I finally decided to try the pepito salad here and i was not disappointed! The small detail ingredients make such a huge difference and the dressing is AMAZING ! With unlimited chips and salsa and $6 margaritas this is an ideal treat. The salad was a little overpriced but i could not complain about the delicious taste which made it worth it. Additionally, the bar has open seating and was not crowded at all, the server was very attentive, and we were able to watch the bartender make our drinks which was a plus for me. read more

I made an account just for this because I have never experienced something like this at this location i been coming here for years I've recently had an encounter with someone a manager i asked the young lady in the front for her name and it was Evelyn she was really rude and condensing when we went to the bar for just a drink demanding we have a card on file which has never happened before at this location we refused and she kept reminding the bartender who was helping us to get the card and to get the card for us to me she was being really obnoxious after we already said we would pay cash after every drink if we have but she kept demanding the bartender to get a card from us he would just ignore her after that talking to the bartender a little more I realized she is the problem it would be different if she knew was discreet about the card situation or maybe it was the way we looked or dress she didn't trust us but She kept opening up the screen and looking im a big observer so i know when im being looked at and i didn't appreciate it at all i only gave it another star because our bartender was amazing and our drinks were good and he kept apologizing for the situation read more

Easter brunch. The food was great. They ran out of green salsa and green enchiladas around 12:30. My server was super sweet and attentive until it was time to go. She kind of disappeared for about 15 minutes. She may have gone on break, and the other servers didn't cover for her. I made reservations, got there 15-20 minutes early, and wasn't sat until 10-15 minutes after my reservation time. Was told by one of the hostesses that they do not honor same day reservations. Which is understandable, but then don't make same day reservations an option on your website if you don't honor it. She was very snarky and rude. Ordered takeout and Leidy R. who answered the phone had a bad attitude. That should have been a sign but I ordered asked for a side of pico de Gallo and enough complimentary chips and salsa. The total was $10 inflated and I asked her to give me a breakdown of the cost since it was way over with taxes. She was dismissive and when I picked up my order I asked for an itemized receipt. She charged $1.50 for the side of pico( said had to charge me as sour cream) which is usually free when you order in and $5 for chips and salsa. I asked her why the chips weren't complementary? She said that's the fee. The food was cold and I ordered three crunchy tacos , they were all soggy since they placed them over the beans. Who does that? Zero stars for overcharging and soggy food. El Torito! Well I've been to this chain many times back in the days of me living in California. If your wanting true California Mexican this is NOT the place but it's decent and there is some good items on the menu. The steak fajitas usually come out sizzling. I don't care for the rice and beans. They both seem to out of can/box for my liking. The guacamole is pretty good and the grilled hot peppers are awesome !
