We visited to check out the new carniceria! What a nice surprise. Wonderful fresh meats and seafood in the case. Lots of thoughtful products for a last minute cookout - charcoal, chips, tortillas, salsas, etc. make for a true one stop shop experience. We purchased 4 Cowboy steaks, some fresh chorizo, guacasalsa, and cotija cheese. Prime grade steak! Cut like butter and was the most flavorful cut of steak we've had at home. True restaurant quality tenderness and marbling. We have found a new favorite and plan to patronize this family owned business regularly. Atmosphere has always been excellent at this bar. When they converted to half bar and meat market that blew my mind. You can still order bar food but if you want the works it's there too. I got the carne asada with rice, beans and a lobster tail. It was very flavorful. The service is the best, all the staff is amazing and friendly! read more

First time coming here, they have a Carniceria/restaurant and let me tell you it did not disappoint. We got a steak some shrimp and whatever you buy they actually grill it right here for you. They have great customer service. I love the atmosphere. Taco Tuesday smelled good but never got to try it. Service is terrible. Had a Crack head waitress with nasty teeth walk past us, give 2 other tables menus who arrived after us. Then asked us what we wanted to drink turned her head and walked away. We never got to answer. After that service and previously waiting 20 minutes we walked out. Not sure if they are racist or what the issue was. This place won't last with this service. read more

Food was good. Service was par. But the reason behind the review is the fact that the owner decided to start playing LOUD (louder than usual) music the literal SECOND UFC 329 CONOR VS MAX ended. The place was packed because the fights but literally once the ref called it they turned music on. No audio for post fight interviews or anything (especially with such a bizarre ending to a fight.) It just shows that they aren't attending to customers but rather take the money and cycle through people for more money. Decided to go to JJ's to watch Mexico and s, Korea World Cup game. Tables were full but not packed so I found seating for my wife and myself. 15 minutes later the owner came by and asks us if we have received service yet, we hadn't so he introduces us to our sever. She says "I'll be with you shortly". 35 minutes later still no service so I decided to just go to the bar and order drinks. Bartender was very accommodating and she took our drink order promptly. Not one time did our area waitress come by to check on us during this time. Decided to order food. Again had to order from bartender at the bar. Portion was large but Carne asada lacked flavor and had lots of toughness like tendons. Two beers each- two large, two small- on tap modelos for wife and I and an order of nachos, $56 I live locally so will more than likely be back because it's close. Stopped by for Taco Tuesday last week and we found ourselves back again! We usually sit at the bar. Lexi, our bartender/server, was outstanding!! She is friendly, sweet, hustles, and is efficient. That's truly one of the reasons we decided to stop by again. For $1 Taco Tuesdays, we did not expect much for the price, but the tacos were delicious. We also ordered the fried ravioli, which were also yummy. We had the steak on Thursday steak night and it was cooked perfectly! The steaks were huge. Prices are very reasonable/affordable. Please stop by and see Lexi and the rest of the friendly staff. The ambiance was chill, although they end to get busy during happy hour. read more

Too PRICY A beer bucket of bud light was $30 #6 beers. Server was sweet especially when I wanted to shit my pants at the $164 dollar bill. No food was purchased. We are local to the neighborhood beer buckets of bud light are $15. Nice looking interior. I wanted to try the bar because it had good reviews but I think they are not from customers in our neighborhood. Yes, I knew they were featured on bar rescue after I found them on Yelp. read more

This place is all right, I don't like the fact that there's only one restroom and a lot of times there's a long line And they need to update their menu, a lot of things on the menu are incorrect and they don't even tell you in advance. Once you bring it up to them they get annoyed by it. For example, the sampler platter doesn't come with four wings and four boneless wings. It only comes with your choice of one. read more

Moved to the area a month ago and the second time we've driven to JJs and it's been closed. Came today July 6th at 3:30 to watch a soccer game. Doors were locked. No signs on the door indicating it's closed. Looks like drinks from last night left on the patio. About 2 weeks ago and it was closed for a private event. Both times we checked the internet and hours ahead of time. We were super excited to try and find a neighborhood bar but it's hard to patronize a place that's never open. read more

This bar is a dive bar for sure. It's that bar in town that is kind of shady, but you can still see some good people going there as regulars. So you know it's safe. My friends and I started coming to this bar this year more often than before. Well, I think my friends probably come here more often than me. I think I've been in there like so many years ago and didn't come back at all. And I think we kind of know why. Their food is ok, but their taco Tuesday is pretty good. Their drinks are kind of what's wrong with this bar. I mean if we asked for a drinks that are on the menu and the servers be like hold on, let me check if you can order that drink. We were like what? So they are not consistent with their drinks. I think some of bartenders don't how to make drinks, I think. I think my friend and her husband go there mostly for their taco Tuesday. I feel like they don't want you to leave because every time we want to leave it's hard to find the servers to pay our bills. Prices are pretty reasonable with food and drinks. Services are kind of a hit and mss thing. I gave them technically want to give them 2.5 stars, but they don't do halves here, so 3 then... Also because there's a bartender there that we like she does a great job, I forgot her name. Sorry. So the other half of the star complimentary to her service and consistency, I mean she probably earned all the stars to by herself. I kind of think she the reasons why customers come back. Oh forgot to mention, they do have DJ, on the weekends, and I think almost everyday, I think, not sure on that. read more

Met up with some friends at JJs bar for drinks and karaoke night and had a blast. Vee was our waitress and even though she seemed busy, she was still able to take empty cups and plates out of our way. She never let our pitchers of beer go empty and checked up on us just the right amount. Vee had great menu recommendations and let us know about the specials and was an excellent conversationalist all while still being professional. Great service, great drinks and great wings! The first thing I want to mention is that the atmosphere at this bar is nice and comfortable. We have been visiting here for the last couple of months. The main reason we keep coming back is the service! My girlfriend and I have had nothing but positive experiences with Veczel! She is attentive and very helpful. Even when I brought my 8-year-old son, she spoke to him directly in a friendly way, making him feel at ease to place his own order, and he even shared some of his interests. She created a safe space for him to express himself and connected with him. The drinks and wings are delicious, and I'm really glad we discovered this place because other spots in the area, like the Frog , had service that was extremely poor. I highly recommend JJs to anyone looking to enjoy some drinks and cool off from the heat. Also pre mix for the Micheladas are made by the owner's wife my girl loves them. read more

Bartender was nice and very friendly but everything else was subpar at best. They were out of the New menu item "fried raviolis" mozzarella sticks were substituted but came out cold. She said the owner was working the kitchen that day. I guess there's more than one owner and must have been the other guy that had told my husband to come in and he'd take care of him because this guy just stared us when he came out and greeted another gentleman next to us. This is the epitome of a dive bar. My only recommendation to go here is if you'd like to have a nice good looking bar tender other than that I wouldn't waste your money or time. read more
