Chicken and beef adobada tacos w/ side of guacamole and green hot sauce
    Meg C.

Solid Mexican food with good birria and chicken tacos. Quesadilla portions are generous, sometimes a bit greasy. I also like their tres leches cake if I'm in the mood for something sweet. I live nearby and typically call in an order and it's ready in 10-15 minutes. The interior is clean and warmly decorated with bright colors and has a few tables and window bar seating. Staff are friendly and quick. Street parking is available and there's also a parking lot several doors down. Glad to have this place in the neighborhood for my taco cravings.

    Birria, Shrimp Quesadilla, Churros

The birria tacos were amazing (my boyfriend's words, not mine). Juicy tender meat! I ordered shrimp quesadillas and they were very cheesy with a good portion of grilled shrimp in them. What really wowed me were the side sauces and the churros. Super flavor exploding spicy salsa sauces and probably the best bb churros I've ever had. They have caramel filling inside!! Definitely a local treasure

Why didnt i start coming here last summer? These guys are as new to the neighborhood as I am so we kind of share the same move in time period. However its better late than never. Taco Tuesday : All tacos for $1.99( regular price $3.5). The place: small. Can host 2 groups of 4 and a couple of more people. Service: Excellent. All were smiling and prompt and made the food right after the order goes in and that too in front of you. Food: Delish. Had the lamb and the grilled chicken tacos. The lamb didnt lose its taste which was awesome as many places they try to hide it. The chicken was grilled yet it didnt lose its juice. This reminded me of all those tasty eats i have had in the west or small taquerias. Ask them for the Spicy mayo and the jalepeno green sauce. I expected more heat but didnt get much. Next time will make sure to ask them t One flip side: The price. At $3.5 I do not expect to get the tacos coming out of "Mission Street taco" packets. Its at par with BarTaco however less footfall and the rents might keep it high. I would expect at least more options like masa ? or atleast try to make them fresh? Maybe more tacos but only on Tuesdays?

    14.00 for this?

14.00 for this, The place is a rip off, Good way to lose business. I added guacamole that's it. Menu reads 8.99 plus each additional topping is extra. I'll never be back.

5 birria tacos: 5/5 so delicious
    Beth Y.

Tldr; the birria tacos are the best tacos I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and get one Birria taco: 5/5 I don't know how I've gone this long without eating a birria taco, but I have been missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures. Had my first one at El Vaquero, and it was hands down the best taco my mom and I have ever had. Perfectly juicy and seasoned beef with a crispy fried shell - TO DIE FOR! We came back a second time just for the birria tacos, and I'm sure we'll be back soon. Lamb taco: 4/5 I've never had a lamb taco before, and it was pretty good! But paled in comparison to the birria Fish taco: 2.5/5 My mom ordered this and it was just okay...really messy to eat and the shell started to feel soggy from all the sauce inside. Again, nothing could compare to the birria

Let's get to the most important things first- The food is outstanding. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and Chicken Quesadilla and they were both absolutely tasty- a unique combination of flavors and spices that was way better than most I've ever had. The steak in the Carne Asada was crispy and tender. The quesadilla had lots of cheese with the chicken and was not dried out like some places. Tip- when I ordered each of these in advance on the phone- I was asked what did I want on them. I asked for everything but sour cream- so perhaps that was the key to such great flavors. Portions were the right size and prices were more than fair. The place was very clean as well. The seating area is very limited- so mostly a takeout place. Without a doubt my new go to place for Mexican takeout.

    Carne asada fries
    Meredith P.

Good birria tacos but even better carne asada fries! The birria tacos we definitely tasty but I feel like they could use a little more meat. The carne asada fries were definitely the star of the show. First, I love that they were made with thicker fires and not wimpy shoestring ones. The fries were absolutely loaded with carne asada, cheese, pico guac, and sour cream (the sour cream was a little heavy for my liking). There was also some other creamy orange sauce they put on them that was very flavorful and totally added more flavor to the fries. Also ordered a carne asada taco and a steak adobada taco. They tasted pretty similar, both loaded with pico, lettuce, and cheese. I would say that the adobada steak had a little more spice than the carne asada. Overall I enjoyed my meal here, and would say it is a lot better than most other taco places I have tried in the area.

We are not that far from Medford and it took over 45 minutes to get there (traffic was crazy!) and we were running late. I called and they were super nice and said they could hold the table for 10 minutes (we were running 5 minutes behind our reservation) and not to stress out. When we got there, they were hopping! I am sure they get a lot of pre-show people because before I could even say we had to be out of there by 7, she asked if we were going to the show and assured us we would be out way before then. My hubby and decided to go the tapas route (which is basically the majority of their menu) and it was AWESOME! We started with the Queso Fundido. I am not a chirozo fan but the hubby is so I thought I would give it a try. It worked very well with the cheese and did not over power it. We moved on to the Cheviche Amarillo, Plantano Macho stuffed with beef, and Pollo Mole. All were perfect and just the right amount of food. I think my favorite was the Cheviche which was a white fish with sweet potato. The "sauce" was a citrusy topping and so light - did not detract from other flavors. Really all three were delicious. We also tried the flan because it looked so good coming out. Fair warning that I am not a flan person but it looked so yummy. Again, it was better than I have had but still not a fan - hubby on the other had devoured it with pleasure. It is a great location as well, and the space was very cheery, clean and despite being super busy we were not on top of each other - super worth the trip!

I got the margarita de la casa with salt, it was your classic margarita, but I liked it. Smaller size. For food, we started with the tamal with pork mole, which was really tasty, and fresh. Only one per order though, at $12 a piece. The size wasn't huge either. I then ordered the arroz del mar. It was creamy rice mixed with calamari, shrimp, and octopus. I was expecting more of a cream sauce but it was more like a watery broth, with a kick. It was spicy but tolerable. I liked the flavors but it didn't hit my craving. My boyfriend got the pollo con mole which he liked but I don't think he was crazy about it. I was still hungry so we ordered the plantano macho with beef. This stuffed plantain was good, I liked the cheese on it. But again, small size.. I will say I didn't know it was tapas style until we overheard the waitress tell another table. It makes sense in hindsight but we were quite hungry and this might have deterred us from coming. Portions were small even for tapas style. I saw a group and I'm not sure how they managed without ordering a surplus of food. I overheard them order at least 7 tacos...one per order... Strong flavors and fresh ingredients, I would say that. I think this is an elevated experience for food and it was a pleasant experience, but I wouldn't rush back because I don't think the portions were worth it even for tapas style.

The business is sort of in a house? It was small and kind of dark inside. It was definitely an interesting experience,,, The appetizer was reallyyy good, I forgot the name though... We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!
