The vibe of the restaurant is really nice on the inside however, the food is a 5 out of 10 at best. A lot of the side dishes are lacking flavor. Ordered a side of guacamole and got the receipt. Turns out it was $16. The waiter failed to let me know that it was gonna be that expensive. Barely touched the guacamole because it had no flavor. Normally, this place is great. I've been here a couple of times in the morning and have always had some of the best service. Unfortunately, my recent visit at night was a completely different experience. The atmosphere was nice and the music was good, and the food itself tasted fine. However, the service that night was extremely disappointing. My server seemed uninterested and inattentive, and it really affected the experience. On top of that, our meals came out at completely different times, so by the time one person was eating, another was still waiting. I'm not sure if the kitchen was short-staffed, but the pacing of the meal made it frustrating. For a "budget-friendly" spot, I ended up paying about $200 for my family of four, including the service charge. For that price, I expected a much smoother and more coordinated dining experience. If I could leave 0 stars, I definitely would. Do not waste your time coming here. Been here a few times and service was okay, but this time it was really BAD. Service was bad from start to finish. You have to flag down a server if you need anything, instead of them asking you. Additionally, they make it seem like you're burdening them for asking to order (we were seated at the bar top). Our server had an attitude the entire time like we were being an inconvenience. After ordering a shot, we asked for it be chilled or for a glass of ice. She rolled her eyes and said "we're closing right now", as if it was too much to ask for in that moment. So, she just left the shot and walked away. I came here a few weeks ago while on a road trip in L.A. The whole restaurant was such a vibe. It was a more mature crowd, which I loved. Everyone there was just having a great time so I knew it was going to be worth the wait (we were hangry). This place made me feel like I was in the movie, Coco. From the sugar skull paintings to the good music they had playing. We had 2 servers, who were both very attentive and sweet. The food was pretty good and we didn't have to wait long for our orders to come out. I'm big on chips and salsa and theirs was hella good that I had to ask for a refill lol. My favorite was our appetizer, the queso fundido. We also got tacos and a huge molcajete, which had some bomb ass bacon wrapped shrimp. Super yummy.... I wish I was able to try some drinks but we were heading back to Fresno at almost 11pm and I had to drive with my 2 kids and my mom but if I'm ever back in town, I am definitely coming back. All in all, food was good, service was awesome and the vibe was amazing. Turned my sad evening in to a really happy one. Had been wanting to go to this place for the longest and finally tried it. The ambiance and decor are super cute. This plate in particular was good in flavor but for some reason it felt like the food was cold (we were a party of 7 and they said the food would come out as it was being made so it would remain fresh - my order did not taste "fresh"). Interesting place as it was Cinco De Mayo. The entry was presentable, but the fragrance of fabuloso was a turn off. service was a 30min delay for standard chips and choice of beverage. Our seating location was in line of the bartender and waitress whom passed us as if we were furniture. When it was time to order our waitress lacked knowledge of favorable dishes that Katrina cantina offered. We both ordered birria tacos that arrived 45min. The presentation was like a weekends bbq with no fixings. The meat had no flavor and the juice cozomel missed all the authentic flavors birria should have. I rarely write bad reviews, but this location I do not recommend as I had a horrible experience with presentation and service being my 1st time. My only suggestion to the restaurant. Remove the birria until your cooks master authenticity. Educate or screen employees to make sure that they're aware of dishes the restaurant offers. read more

Great location, amazing staff. I've had every appetizer on the menu and oh maiii gahhhh everything is so good. I recommend the Katrina Sushi Roll, quesabirria pizza (FIRE!), shrimp queso fundido has some chorizo too. The drinks are pricey, the margarita I like to get is called "La Leyenda" it's about 16 bucks but you really just need one...it's so delicious and knocks you on your tooshy. It's a nice place to grab dinner and drinks kind of local spot. It has a casual ambiance and vibe to it. Their margaritas are you so yummy and they have in different flavors. The food is quite delicious. The services were great. The prices were ok, I wouldn't say they are reasonable or anything like that. They were on the pricey side of things considering it's Fontana area and out of the beaten path, too. But overall, it's a decent place for dinner, also there's room for improvements. That's why I have giving them 4 stars. They do close at 930pm I think. We saw stragglers in there that didn't want to leave. The servers had to tell them twice that they are closing. read more

Visited on 3/27/2022 around noon. After being seated it took quite some time for a waiter to give us our menus, silverware, and water. There was two waiter there and given that it was not even 50% full weren't sure why service was slacking. We ordered the sampler platter, quesabirria, 2x bfast tacos, and a shrimp burrito. Now here is why I gave them a 3 star. We waited over an hour for our food and when it came out we were missing an order which added more wait time. At the end of our meal we asked for a togo box and had to wait 30 more mins to get that box... Overall the service here needs a major upgrade and the food looks kinda appetizing but it was slightly bland. read more

What's for dinner? I got my New Year's treat from my youngest son and my daughter -in-law tonight. This is my first visit to this Mexican Grill restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. We were greeted by our friendly server and handed the menu. For a starter I ordered the mango shots which was one of the house specialty mixed drinks. The wet birria burrito was kinda spicy for me but tolerable . It was covered with cheese and green sauce. It was flavorful and had a lot of filling of rice and meat. My daughter-in-law had the Flautas de Pollo served on a bed of shredded lettuce with guacamole dipping sauce. I tasted a piece and seems too dry to my taste and kinda bland. My son on the other hand had the Red Quesadilla de Birria and wow !!! I was just used to a regular quesadilla. But this one was so tasteful, flavorful and no spicy .... the tortilla saturated in the birria consommé giving that orangy color and had that crisp look filled with shredded beef stew and cheese. Well one thing for sure for my second visit I am definitely ordering the birria quesadilla. I had read some bad reviews but I recommend that you try this restaurant cause we have different taste buds and opinions and sometimes you just happen to be at the right place but wrong time !!! Came here from the 1st time for lunch on a Monday, but not busy at all. Our waitress was the bartender too, my cousin and I ordered cosmos, I think they were fine, I ordered a Moscow mule, I feel that drink was lacking. The food was ok, nothing amazing that stood out about my huevos divorciados, they're good. I will say the complimentary salsa u get is SUPER tasty! I'm not a huge fan of Mexican restaurants since most of this food I make at home, so it takes something awesome to make me really give a great rating. (Next time I'll need to try something different) I will say the ambiance is great, so much color, loud music, the furniture is really nice too, modern, clean and aesthetic. I didn't see any happy hour deals or menus, so I can't say if they have any. I spent $40 for a meal and 2 drinks, not bad st all. I think I want to come here at night to see what the vibe is like. The service was good, empty restaurant, our waitress checked on us several times. My cousin did love her shrimp tacos. I would give this place another shot. read more

Service and food was great. No knock to anyone that is service worker. But to the manager/owner of this location who adds a service charge of 10% ruins the tip for your workers. We always tip everywhere we go at least 20-25% but when owners like to rip customers off like this when they are unfortunately buzzed or drunk . They probably won't notice like us. BUT BEWARE ALL CUSTOMERS OF YOUR CHARGES!!! They charged me for soda water with my tequila. We were charged $12 for soda water for my tequila soda water. When asked to see the manger they said there is no manager available to speak with. Sadly we told the bartender it seems like won't be coming here after being a local resident.
