This place is super authentic and delicious! I love that they tell you straight forward what's in their meals if you ask since most of us I assume visit more American Greek style places so when it comes to a more authentic style some dishes vary in ingredients! My first time I called to place a pickup order for a Greek salad and instantly they let me know it doesn't come with lettuce like most places do which I really appreciated and it turned out delicious anyway! Ela Greek Eats is a gem! Always fresh, and flavorful, and I have never had anything disappointing. We especially love the lamb gyro, any bowl with quinoa, fries, and the Greek salad are our go-to orders. You can't go wrong with the mousaka -- it is so rich and such a comfort food! It's the best greek food in Venice. I moved to LA a few months ago and was craving a gyro and randomly found this place. I've been coming back consistently ever since. I live a block away from this location and I always make the drive to Papa Cristos out of habit. I finally tried this place and am sorry I didnt try it sooner. It really is good, although I cant really compare to Papa Cristos, it is different but still delicious. My friend said the lamb gyro was the best she ever had. The dolmas are very good. Overall a good spot, reasonable priced but I'm docking it a point as dine in is served on disposable containers and disposable plastic cups. The gyros is nice and the bread especially spot on, slight thickness and chewy as it should be. Lemonade is fresh made and great price at $2 but very sweet, had to dilute it with water. read more

The Greek salad is a very high end version with high quality ingredients and I'm on a bit of a health kick so I tried the quinoa bowl with lamb and it was extremely flavorful while being healthy. Such a great find! We got the lamb gyro, Greek salad with lamb, gigandes, lemon potatoes and the spanikopita. Everything was excellent. The lamb is different than the traditional lamb found in gyros, but it's still great. Crispy and sort of like carnitas, but different flavors. Their tatziki was delish. They also use compostable containers, which I LOVE. The lids are still plastic, but it's still a huge improvement over most other restaurants' take out packaging. Such a thoughtful touch. Normally I'm a die hard for Good Greek Grill, but it's always nice to try a new place here, especially featuring greek food. We ordered greek lemon potatos, village salad, spanikopita, chicken souvlaki, lamb gyro and side of tzatsiki. This was $66 for that order, which is a bit ridiculous for what you actually got. And unfortunately, the food wasn't worth that. The spanikopita was so dry and thin, like they forgot the feta. The chicken souvlaki was 2 small skewers served on quinoa. That was confusing because we don't use quinoa in our traditional dishes. Lastly, the actual part of the meal that was so disappointing was the tzatsiki. It was runny, almost watered down and overloaded with too much mint and probably the worst I've ever tasted. I don't usually like to leave a not-so-hot review..but this food was pretty mediocre for being greek food and costing as much as it did. As a greek individual, I have some basis for what's good and not so good in greek food fwiw. There are a handful of other places that are definitely better. Disappointing- read more

Quality of the food is off the charts fresh and presentation is also great. If you need a night or afternoon off from cooking/creating meals this is an incredible option. Guys. You can't beat ELA for Greek in LA. So authentic, so delicious, so fresh. Soft pita, incredibly flavorful meats, top grade veggies. Not to mention service. The owner is usually behind the counter and is super sweet. The ONLY reason why it's 4 stars is the price. It's a splurge for us, but every time we do it, we rave. If a pita were $10 vs $12/13, I'd probably come here 2-3 times a week. read more
