God bless this place !! Came here during my lunch break . First time eating a lamb Greek sandwich! To start of , I got greeted with joy and kindness. Placed my order took a bite & then boom all the flavors exploded in my mouth ! Out of the nowhere my Wednesday didn't seem so bad. Every bite was fresh and soo good! Will be back !

So good! Delicious Mediterranean/Greek food near LMU and Otis College of Art and Design. It's a very small spot in a strip mall. There are a few small tables inside and a small bar area for a quick bite and go. The staff is super nice and accommodating to help you choose the best items. It is reasonably priced and a must go to if you're in the area looking for a good meal.

I had the Greek bowl tonight with quinoa and the chopped Greek salad. It was excellent. They've changed the salad with the Greek bowls. It has lots of sliced cherry sized tomatoes, and fine chopped cucumbers, An excellent improvement! So fresh and tasty.

This was our first visit, and we ordered quite a spread: gigantes, the salmon bowl with quinoa pilgouri salad and tahini, the shaved beef brisket bowl with rice and tzatziki, the lamb gyro with tahini (though it came with tzatziki instead), the traditional Greek salad, Greek lemon potatoes, moussaka, chicken avgolemono soup, spanakopita, and baklava. It was definitely more food than we needed for four people, but we were eager to try as much as possible. Overall, everything was fantastic, and I would gladly order it all again--except for the soup. Three out of four of us found it too sour. I've had avgolemono soup before and, based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be my favorite, but it missed the mark. The restaurant has limited parking outside and a cozy amount of seating inside. There's no restroom available, so keep that in mind if you plan to dine in. The service was warm and accommodating; we requested hot water, which isn't typically offered, but they made it work for us. The food was excellent, though on the pricier side. If you're looking for ambiance, however, this may not be the place, as the focus is clearly on the food.

I don't post many reviews. But I've been coming to this place for 6 years or so. I went in today and spoke with Carlos. I had already ordered, and I was talking about how great the lemon potatoes are, but that I'm trying to lose a couple lbs. He insisted I take some on the house. I can't say no to that. I wasn't expecting that sort of generosity, nor did I deserve it to be frank. But I'm happy I have em. This place has the best Greek food in Venice. I'm not saying it because of his generosity, but for the fact that it is the best. Pita, the best. Beef gyro, the best. Lemon potatoes, the best around(not even close). Local business and owner....the best. Thank you! For the past 6 years....

AMAZING greek food in Venice! Such a great option for lunch or dinner take-out. Friendly staff and delicious options. Food is ready very quickly and great prices! I enjoyed the falafel platter - the falafel was the perfect amount of moist and flavorful, the hummus and other accoutrements were all so delicious. My partner enjoyed the Lamb Gyro and was impressed with how delicious it was as well! Will absolutely be ordering from Ela again and recommending it to all of our friends in the area.

Do yourself a favor. Get the lamb here. In a bowl. In a salad. In a wrap. On the side. Just get it in some capacity. Those slow roasted, juicy, tender, and mouth watering flavors make the lamb the undeniable option at Ela. The chicken bowl with rice was also solid (I just added my side of lamb to that bowl). The rice and veggies were fresh and had nice, authentic, zesty spices. And the chicken was pretty good. But next time, I'll just get double lamb. The lamb stole the show. Ela's also has that hole-in-the-wall type charm. More of a to-go spot with its lack of space, but there are a few seats and tables inside if you choose to dine in. I wouldn't recommend dining in with more than 3 people here though. An excellent option for a healthy, fresh, and authentic meal. I'll for sure be back!

My husband and I happened upon this hidden gem one week night and were really impressed with the high quality of the food for the money, coming what looks like a hole in the wall. The lamb shank and chicken wrap were both delicious, and the tzatziki perfectly balanced in flavor. This will likely become a regular dinner place now. read more

We tried a bunch of stuff. Hands down best falafel I've ever had. Chicken Gyro was a bit light on the chicken, but very tasty with extra tzarziki. Speaking of tzarziki...it is very raw garlic heavy. If you aren't a garlic fan, get it on the side. Chicken exohito(so?) was good, flavorful. The babaganoush was delicious and well balanced. The hummus was fine, nothing special. The spanakopita was interesting, I think there was some roasted red pepper in it. Personal preference, I'm not a fan of cooked pepper, nor have I had it in spanakopita. I might pass next time. The dolmas were good, but expensive. We were disappointed they don't make a vegetarian version. The west side likes vegetarian options. We will be back, hope they can stick around in that suffering strip. read more

theres two main reasons why this place is getting such a high score. 1. The food is really good and tasty. 2. The owner is an executive chef that has run fine dining restaurants in LA for years and has opened Ela Greek Eats. So you are getting restuarant quality food at take away prices. Greek food is delicious, but can be very inconsistent when it comes to restaurants. However, Ela Greek Eats is a find. Fresh ingredients, expert preparation and nice touches make this a great fast- casual Greek restaurant. Try the Gyro Bowl with Lamb - you wont be dissapointed. read more

Hands down best Greek food in LA. Carlos's previous project (the chef behind this joint) Inotheke, was one of our favorite restaurants, and now that he opened this place - the food is exactly the same restaurant quality. Yes, the prices are on the higher side for such casual place, but totally worth it. Lamb shank, lemon potatoes, gigantes, meatballs - everything tastes amazingly delicious. read more

Amazing, fresh herbs in each dish - REALLY makes a difference!! This is a LA strip mall place that you could (and I have) just drive by for years and think 'yep, another gyro place' but it's NOT! Meat is the real deal... lamb leg to die for... get brisket on anything and everything. The black eyed peas & kale are DELISH!! Perfect timing I found it a month into quarantine because this is not a fine dining experience in the restaurant.... that's OK! It wasn't ever supposed to be. Pick up your amazing, fresh, hand made Greek Deliciousness and go back to your house. I'm coming here 2x/week now because I want this mom-n-pop shop to stay in business - quality food we all deserve. Stop going to the Whole Foods (Amazon) food bar crap next door and come HERE. Salads are BIG, feta is the real deal & a slab of it not crumbled over so you can't tell if there's just a teaspoon on it or what. Fresh dill, mint, etc... my mouth it watering just typing about it. Best Greek food on the west side. I have always like the Italian interpretation of food. The beet salad last time a bit off, too much garlic. I hope not to experience that again. Very disappointing based on the reviews. I've had much better Greek food - the lamb dishes were overcooked, everything was way too salty, etc. Probably fine if you're hungry, but not great if you're looking for a proper meal. read more

The food here was actually really good so I feel bad leaving a 3 star rating but the $10 gyro was TINY. I might have left feeling hungrier than when I had walked in. They also lack fries or small other items that most fast causal spots have available to beef up the meal. read more

Fantastic Greek restaurant. As a Greek American living in Los Angeles it is nearly impossible to find authentic good Greek food. Most places are Mediterranean and say they're Greek but they are not. I love the Greek bowls, which are a modern and clever spin on classic Greek food. Absolutely delicious. The moussaka is on point, I tried the dolmades which were a special And they were absolutely delicious. I'm gonna go back and try the other authentic dishes. There are different specials each week. Good reason to keep going back! The owner is a true Greek and knows what he's doing. You won't be disappointed! read more

Ingot the musaka and I am Bulgarian. Ours is a bit different but pretty close flavor. OMG the flavor was amazing . Yes it is a bit more expensive than usual ticket price but so worth it. I don't need to drive to Vegas to have my favorite thing. The place is super clean as well. read more

This is casual Greek/Mediterranean food taken to the next level. The restaurant is small, simple and elegant. I had the lamb gyro. Instead of the dry rotisserie meat that is typical of this dish, Ela does a braised lamb that is delicious beyond expectations. The Melintzanosalata is an elevated baba ghanoush that is at once, more rustic and tastier. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. read more

I have been waiting for a solid Greek restaurant on the west side and this place did not disappoint! I loved it! The lamb shank comes straight from flavor town, so delicious. Excellent lamb gyros; perfectly spiced lamb and balance of toppings. I liked that the lettuce is a more interesting variety than just Romaine or iceberg and tastes like it also has maybe been seasoned or dressed with lemon juice. Also a nice soft pita! read more

I don't often stray from my go-to restaurants that I always order from, but this restaurant randomly popped up while I was browsing on Postmates. I was feeling a little spontaneous from being cooped up all day and decided to try it out. Not only was the food prepared and delivered at lightening speed, it was hands down some of the best Greek food I've had since I've lived in la. There was so much flavor in every bite that I honestly couldn't stop eating it despite how sickly full I was. Definitely a new favorite restaurant that I'll be ordering from again very soon. It took two additional orders of the bread to actually enjoy the appetizer. - The Wagyu hummus was 4/5, tasty but I feel you're mainly paying the sticker price of $35 for the smallest pieces of the meat. - Skirt steak was 4/5 its rather hard to mess up a skirt steak but it could've used extra seasoning. Potatoes on the side seemed to just be thrown next to cuts of asparagus. - Lasagnette Bolognese 4/5 seemed pretty traditional aside from the noodles, it was like uncut lasagna sheets which was a nice twist on the dish but a pretty standard sauce. - Chicken Parm 5/5, the parm was rather large, about two palms together in size. The plate seemed to be slightly spiced which was savory. - Chocolate Souffle was 3/5, nothing too special about the dish, for $18 I was hoping for something a little more savory then a brownie bite sized loaf that may have been baked for a few minutes served next to a very small portion of their 'house made ice cream'. Thank you for the memories, not entirely sure I would be back. My bill of just under $500 did not really seem to be worth it.

If the portions matched the quality, this would've easily been a 5-star experience. That said, if you care more about exceptional food than portion sizes, this place is worth trying. One of the most memorable meals I've had on the Westside.

I love the food here. The wraps are great - the pita is better than nearly all other local Mediterranean places. I usually get a bowl that comes with a great parsley, Cucumber Cabbage, and onion salad (I tell them to leave the tomatoes out), Quinoa "Pligouri" salad, and shaved beef brisket or lamb with Tzatziki sauce. It is fantastic!, No ambiance in the restaurant - it is really a take out place as they only have a few tables inside - so I always take it to go. The people are very friendly, and the order is made fast. I highly recommend this place - I order from here all the time. read more
