    Jalapeño Avocado Hummus
    Terry E.

Jalapeño Avocado Hummus?! Are you kidding me?! It was insane! And beautiful too. We ordered take out. It was all ready the second we got there. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Everything we ordered was fantastic! We had the Shrimp Sewer (no idea if I'm spelling that right), a Greek Salad, a Beef Pita, ... it was all incredible! The favorite tho was definitely the Jalapeño Avocado Hummus. Also all very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back!

    Gyro Plate

This place is alright. It doesn't really scratch the Mediterranean itch. We ordered the baba ganoush and it was a little bland. The gyro was good but not great. It was perhaps slightly above average. The pita they serve with the gyro plate is decent, but I was not the biggest fan of the pita they served with the baba ganoush. Service is good. The ambiance is a little lacking. Overall I personally would likely not come back here as the food just didn't check the right checkboxes taste wise. It's slightly above average fare, I'd give it 3.5/5 if I could as it's not average but not confidently above average.

    Felafel wrap, chick schwarma

Chicken schwarma isn't shaved in the customary way. It's shreds fried on a flat top grill. Felafel wrap too dry to eat. Needs sauce, tomatoes, etc. really wrong. Very polite staff.

It is nice, classy, calm, and inviting. Service seemed to be a bit off put by me sitting down without a room, but we'll let that slide cause the food was amazing. You know when you order a breakfast burrito and you get to the end and it is 99.9% tortilla? This one wasn't that! Full of flavor with creamy avocado, crispy bacon and fluffy eggs. The salad is simple but pairs well with it, so does the Pizza Port Mango DIPA. Idk if it is enhanced Franks hot sauce, but it had a bite (mind you I cook with Thai chilis and habanero on the regular). If you are staying at the Viceroy or just in the area, for breakfast, I recommend stopping by. Aaaap... standard 20% gratuity. Good service so I was going to give it to them anyway (my actual server didn't give me any sideways look and was very friendly)... but if that erps you just FYSA

Upon arrival, we were informed there was no host so we could just sit wherever despite having a reservation. We had to ask for a server to take our order after a pretty long time of sitting down and he then informed us that they were out of almost all dishes (everything but a burger, pasta and salmon). I was shocked to learn that all pizzas and the majority of entrees were unavailable and we hadn't been told when calling to make the reservation or upon arrival. We were heading to the airport immediately after the dinner so we didn't have time to change the location for the dinner with friends. My boyfriend and I decided to order the burger and pasta of the limited options. I thought the burger was just ok, same as the fries and it's not an item I'd go out of my way to get again. The pasta on the other hand was very good and I'd happily eat again. All in all, the ambiance was great with the fire place seating but I wouldn't go back based on the food and service.

Where do I begin?…read more This was my last day in the beautiful land of California, and before heading out to catch my flight back to the South, I was craving Mediterranean food. I've been on a bit of a Mediterranean kick lately, thank you Cava for that. First impressions? The environment was beautiful. Seriously photo worthy. As a photographer, I couldn't help but admire the architecture inside and around the area. It had that visual vibe that made me excited to be there. There was no line when we walked in, so I quickly landed on my order: the Crimson Chicken Wrap (white meat) with a side of babaganoush, and the Chicken Shawarma (dark meat) with a side of fries. Everything sounded solid. But then... we waited. And waited. Over 30 minutes passed. In that time, about 3 to 4 other customers came in, placed their orders, got their food, and left. Meanwhile, we were still waiting on two of their more popular items. I tried to be patient, gave them the benefit of the doubt, until I saw someone who arrived 25 minutes after us get their Chicken Shawarma within 10 minutes of walking in. Given that we were on a time crunch with other places to be, the delay was beyond frustrating. We ended up speaking with the manager and shared our concerns, but by that point, the experience was already soured. Now for the food. I wanted to like it. The first bite had promise, but after that, it just felt like I was eating out of obligation. For the price point, the service delays, and the lackluster flavor, I honestly can't recommend the entrées I tried. The coffee? It seemed to be good, but not enough to bring me back just for that. I wish I could give Crimson a stronger review, especially because the space itself is stunning. But in the end, it was a case of style over substance. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, though I did walk away with some great photos, at least.

If you're anywhere near Santa Monica and craving something that hits you with bold flavor,…read morelaid-back vibes, and a little tropical escape on a plate--Cha Cha Chicken is absolutely the spot. This place isn't just a meal; it's a whole experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cheerful, colorful energy that instantly puts you in a good mood. The vibe is casual, funky, and full of personality--think beach shack meets Caribbean street food with a California twist. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the Coconut Fried Chicken. Honestly, this dish alone is worth the trip. The first bite is pure magic--Crispy coconut-battered golden-brown crust with juicy chicken inside served with sweet mango and jerk dipping sauce. It's crunchy and flavorful without being overwhelming. The coconut adds this unexpected tropical note that elevates it far beyond your typical fried chicken. Pair it with their sides (the dirty rice and potatos are a must), and you've got a plate that's comforting, exciting, and totally unforgettable. What makes Cha Cha Chicken stand out is how consistently it delivers on flavor while keeping things relaxed. The portions are generous, the spices are on point, and everything tastes like it was made with care--and a little bit of island-inspired love. It's the kind of food you find yourself craving again way too soon. Whether you're a local or just passing through Santa Monica, Cha Cha Chicken is a must-visit.
