And while some may want more details, it's not really necessary. Don't we go to any spot on the continual basis to have pretty much the same experience especially if we are ordering our favorite meal? Of course this experience was topped off by a true CSA, (CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL STAR) names Jules-pictured. After having a great experience at a Panini Kabob Grill restaurant in Costa Mesa a couple of weeks ago, we decided to try this location very close to our home. It was a mixed bag for sure. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked, so we chose an outdoor table. Our waiter promptly came and got us started with our drink and food orders, and returned quickly with our drinks. I liked him and his pleasant, cheery manner very much. But then it all started to go sideways. Our tzatziki appetizer arrived not too long after our drinks, which was great. It was a very generous portion, accompanied by an equally generous amount of pita bread triangles, along with a small salad of lettuces and tomato. Our entrees came out about 15 minutes or so later - but they were not, in fact, our orders. So the waitress who brought them (not our original waiter) returned to the kitchen and reappeared with our orders a few minutes later. We had ordered a Chicken Brie panini and a Chicken Parmesan panini, each with a very generous side of Greek salad. The sandwiches were decent, yet somehow rather lacking in flavor. Fortunately I had a cup of marinara sauce to dip my sandwich into, but Boyfriend didn't have a sauce and felt the Brie had overtaken his whole sandwich and the chicken was pretty tasteless. After we had eaten our fill, we sat and waited. And waited. Finally our original waiter came back to clear our plates and we asked for a couple of to-go boxes. He said "of course, be right back," but we waited again for another 10-15 minutes. He brought the boxes back and we asked for the check, which again took 15 minutes of waiting. To be fair, our waiter was extremely energetic and pleasant and he did keep apologizing for the wait. I feel like he was definitely overwhelmed and was doing his best, as he seemed to be nearly the only server in the place and he had way too many tables to attend to. It wasn't spectacular, but it also wasn't terrible. We may come back again to sample some of their other varied menu items, but this restaurant definitely needs to improve the efficiency of its service. read more

We had to come back. We had the beef skewers this time and the meat was so juicy. All the food was so flavorful and fresh. If you are vegetarian the salads here are just as delicious. They are fresh and the dressings are so good you might want more. Today, our waitress was Melissa who was very helpful. She brought the children water in disposable sealed cups and it's one of the main reasons we returned because this is a kid friendly restaurant. There are also boosters for the chairs if needed. We also had other staff stop by our table twice to make sure we were doing okay. A male stopped by to bring our check over since it was near closing time and he was also very polite and charismatic. If you want authentic Mediterranean cuisine don't hesitate to visit this place. I also want to add that this place is also pet friendly. I have seen people bring their pets and dine in the patio. The restaurant itself wasn't full. I could see that there were large tables outside that had not been cleared yet. Our order took about 20 minutes to come out. It seemed they had a lot of delivery orders to fulfill. The salad was over dressed. It's better to ask for the dressing in the side in the future. The rice and kabob were decent. I've been a loyal customer of Panini Kabob Grill for over 17 years, visiting various locations across LA minimum a few times a month. Unfortunately, my experience at the Marina Del Rey location the day before Thanksgiving was by far the worst I've ever had. When my friend and I walked in, the waiter Luis P (as it states on the receipt) didn't greet us and just said sit anywhere you want. The restaurant wasn't busy, maybe 3-4 tables at max, but the service was inattentive from the start. Luis dropped the menus on our table without a word, never checked on us during the 40 minutes we waited, and was noticeably rude not only to us but also to another nearby table. Slow service is something I've experienced at several locations, so expect to wait, but this time it went far beyond that. The most concerning part was what happened during payment. While we were still eating, Luis asked us to pay. A little strange, but ok. My friend paid first and selected no tip due to the poor service. When it was my turn, Luis brought the payment terminal but covered the tip options with his finger. I tapped to pay with my Apple Watch, assuming I would select the tip after authorization, but he immediately took the terminal away. Seconds later, I got a bank notification: the charge had gone through, and a higher tip amount had been added without my consent. I asked to speak with a manager. Instead of taking the issue seriously, the manager tried to claim that the tip "transferred" from my friend's payment, which makes no sense, because my friend selected $0. The moment I said I wasn't asking for a refund, but to bring this issue to his attention, the manager literally stood up and walked away. We left shocked and disappointed. After almost two decades of supporting this brand, I will not be returning to this location. What happened felt dishonest and unacceptable, and I sincerely hope the company addresses these issues so customers don't experience the same thing. Employees like Luis should not be allowed to work in a restaurant or hospitality environment. It's a basic expectation that staff handle payments honestly and respectfully, and this experience made me and my friend very uncomfortable and disappointed. Expectations are already so low that we don't expect great service, we simply expected honest, transparent handling of our bill. Instead, what happened with the tip felt like a deliberate attempt to increase profit through dishonest means. read more

I would say this is one of the better Middle Eastern casual chain restaurants. There are quite a few around LA, as well as outside of the city, and they usually are very consistent. It won't be the very best option in town, but it'll be far from the worst and I do think the portion sizes are generous, and the flavors are always very good. They offer full service in that you sit down and a waiter will come get your drink and food order and bring it to you. This location is in a large shopping mall and parking is plentiful in the parking garage. The first two hours are free. The service can be a bit slow at these locations, and it was especially slow last night. We had to wait quite a bit and everything finally came out all at once. Our server was very polite though, and he really made up for the wait. We started off with the Hummus Trio and enjoyed it. I really liked the cucumber slices and each of the three were very good. I especially liked the Tzatziki starter, which was my favorite of the two. It had some great flavor and the portion size was generous. For my meal, I chose the Koobideh with a Strawberry and Date salad on the side. It was a great combination and it came with a lot of meat that was cooked perfectly. I catered from Panini Kabob Grill last week while hosting book club and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, organized, and stress-free which is soooo what I wanted when somewhat feeling the pressure to feed a group! The online ordering process was incredibly easy and pickup pretty much went just as smoothly. I even called to confirm my order ahead of time and they were completely on it - friendly and efficient! At pickup, I waited about 10 minutes past my scheduled time but of course I thought it was worth the short wait. For the food, I ordered the Family Combo (4) and split it half Mediterranean salad and half romaine avocado, with half basmati rice and half brown rice. I also subbed one kebab for a flat iron steak skewer, plus added the combo appetizer catering tray with pita bread. Everything was phenomenal. The meats were incredibly moist and flavorful and impressively, they stayed juicy even days later as leftovers. That alone deserves five stars in my book!!! The portions were generous (I definitely ordered too much food) but the price was reasonable and the quality was outstanding. My guests loved it so I was relieved! Between the excellent service, fair pricing, and truly delicious food, Panini Kabob Grill is now towards the top of my list for catering and group meals. All the locations in this chain are consistently excellent, with their food quality, taste, portion sizes & service. This location is no different! Located above the Ulta & Yardhouse , parking is easy in their lot. They have an outside patio w/heat lamps, a patio that's technically outside but is fully covered (also w/heat lamps) and inside seating. All the seating areas are casual & comfortable and the patios are even dog friendly. I love all the kabob plates that come with rice & salad; my fave is the flavorful beef koobideh or the juicy salmon. The generous portion sizes always ensure that I have leftovers for at least one more meal. This last time, I chose the grass fed lamb kabob & it was delicious as always! I could eat here every week. This was one of the most blatant experiences of discrimination my family and I have ever faced at a restaurant. We arrived before a white couple and were ignored while they were seated first without any explanation. When we were finally seated, we were completely overlooked--no one greeted us, no one offered water, and no one asked if we wanted anything to drink. Meanwhile, another white family who arrived after us was immediately welcomed and offered service right away. Let me be very clear: this did not feel like a coincidence or poor service. It felt like racial discrimination. The hostess, Sylvia, was the one managing the front, and the difference in how customers were treated under her watch was obvious and unacceptable. As a Hispanic family, we were treated as if we were less important, less worthy of attention, and frankly, invisible. That is unacceptable. People come to restaurants to enjoy a meal, not to feel humiliated or disrespected. No one should have to question whether they are being treated differently because of the color of their skin. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to think twice before supporting a business that treats customers this way. Management needs to take this seriously and address this behavior immediately. read more

Being here a few times, it's time to share my thoughts. And I'll start with parking. Free. Structure and across in the street in the shopping plaza. This alone, in the LA area is a bonus. I've never had a problem finding a spot. Weekday or weekend. Day or evening. I will say I feel the service is hit or miss. A little slow but I expect it in those instances where they're serving tables both indoors and out. Or there's a staffing issue. But friendly and no complaints even when I had to go looking for someone. First world problems. As for the food - it's why I'm a repeat customer. Wish liquor was served but there's beer. Not sure about wine. As usual - see pics. I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had, but it's consistently good. Enjoy the flavors and the portion sizes. Two horrible experiences at this location. I will start off with stating that the manager Fernando unfortunately is not the most seasoned on how to make a customer satisfied and most definitely not happy. I have been going to this location for quite some tkme but the last several visits were less than satisfactory. I arrived with a client and the wait was 30 minutes at the door and another 40 minutes to get our food. That was the first negative experience. The second negative experience was similar as far as wait times but further more, I ordered my kabob plate which comes with rice , vegetables and two grilled kabob skewers. I ordered a side of pink rose sauce. I absolutely do not mind being charged extra for it but the server came back and told me that they cannot provide that to me and that was per her manager. I went and spoke directly it the manager, Fernando to which he stuck to his ground and refused to get me a side order of the sauce so I can enjoy my meal. I informed him that they have the sauce in the back and I am more than happy to pay for it so I can be a satisfied customer. He still said no that he would not provide that to me. I went back to my table to finish my meal and as I was completely long the last bite he brings me side of sauce. After that experience I called corporate and as opposed to taking care of me to make it worth my time he simply said it was a learning experience for them and they made some changes. Doesn't help me out but I have ceased going to that location and also ensure that my family, friends and clients do not visit that establishment. True nightmare read more

We have been missing Panini since it moved out of Playa Vista during Covid! This time we ordered to go and were impressed by their service when they carefully checked each item in the bag to make sure we got the right food. The bag itself is also sealable so it can maintain the food temperature and moisture. We ordered the Strawberry-Date Salad and it is excellent! The red garlic vinaigrette goes perfect with the walnut, dates, cheese and strawberries. We also ordered the Charbroiled Chicken Shish Kabob with sides of Romaine Avocado Salad and Bulgur Wheat. Yum yum yum. This is some of the best mediterranean food I have ever ordered. Try their kabob plates, especially the salmon. Flavorful chunks of skewered salmon, served with delicious rice, and grilled veggies (onion, tomato, green pepper). Their hummus is also super, comes as a side dish. (I didn't like the variety hummus plate at all; the red hummus was way too spicy, and the green (cilantro) hummus just didn't taste good.) The plain hummus is delicious. Their steak kabobs also top rated. And......the baklava unfortunately for me who shouldn't eat it, is DEElicious. They have a small brick and mortar store in Marina del Rey, where the Ruth's Chris is, but if you order do so through DoorDash as their website ordering doesn't work great. I could eat this stuff 3 times a week. Hmmm, maybe I will! Oh, and the manager here is so nice. I am so sad to have to post this review as I LOVED Panini Kabob. I have been a long time customer at various other locations. I had Panini Kabob cater a luncheon for an important meeting. I pre-ordered everything the night prior and my estimated delivery window was between 11:20 a.m.-11:30 a.m. I set this up on purpose to ensure the food would arrive on time- at the request of the individuals I was catering for. The food arrived more than 20 minutes late- which cut into my allotted meeting time. I was not able to present for 20 plus whole minutes, and was not able to go over my pre-scheduled meeting time from 11:30-12:30. I called Panini Kabob twice before anyone called me back just to be told that there was nothing they could do and the "delivery was within the estimated time limit." Clearly it was not. Estimated delivery time was 11:20-11:30. It arrived PAST 11:50. The restaurant is refusing to even credit me to use at another event. I told the restaurant I was giving them the courtesy of telling them about this issue and why it was disruptive and gave them ample opportunity to correct. Unfortunately, they refuse to. For anyone thinking of catering for lunch- especially for a business meeting or marketing event- look elsewhere. It was not only disruptive to my business efforts- it was so embarrassing! read more
