Wow! Z Garden was AMAZING! I ordered on Uber Eats & they had a BOGO on the chicken kebab plate. It was incredible - the salad, the rice, the hummus, the slab of garlic sauce (YUM) and the spicy kick of the pepper! PERFECTION. This is now going to be my go to Friday meal. Doesn't disappoint! So delicious!

Nasir took such great care of us! I came here with my mom and we had a great time eating together. We were both impressed with the falafel and how comfortable the chairs were. Definitely coming back!

I ordered lunch from here during the week and it was okay. I ordered via Yelp because their website was confusing. There were items without descriptions and I couldn't even apply the promo code to my order when I signed-up for the newsletter. Picking up my order was pretty easy as my food was ready by my assigned time. They have a small parking lot in a plaza shared with other businesses. When I visited, it was full so I parked at the nearby Rite Aid parking lot which was free and had ample spaces. Inside the restaurant, the interior seemed pretty clean and spacious. My takeout order was concealed in a plastic container which was placed in a brown paper bag and was stapled. It also came with a plastic cutlery set. I ordered the chicken shawarma pita wrap with the side salad. The wrap itself was good, but the portion was really small. The chicken meat was flavorful, but a bit dry. I did get a dab of garlic sauce which was nice, but wish they gave me more to cover the wrap. The side salad was solid though. The veggies were fresh, crisp, and seasoned well. I liked how the carrots were sweet. However, all of this was around $19 which I would not spend for this again. Overall, a decent experience here. I would opt for other Middle Eastern/Mediterranean spots that are cheaper and give you larger portions.

I had a craving for Mediterranean food so I ordered from Z Garden. I had the Chicken Kabob plate and it was great. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Also the Salad and Hummus was very good. Nice big portion and I was very satisfied.

Having recently moved to the area, I couldn't help but notice the incredible aromas coming from this restaurant every time I passed by. Finally, I decided it was time to experience it for myself, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, Nasser at the front counter was incredibly welcoming and provided us with fantastic recommendations. The menu was extensive as well as the selection of bottled drinks to choose from. I opted for the lamb shank, which was served with rice, hummus, and salad. It was so tender you could cut it with just a fork! The flavors were perfectly spiced. My boyfriend chose the combo kebab plate, featuring three - chicken, steak, and kafta. He cleared his plate before I was even done half of mine. The service was exceptional, and we loved the authentic music playing out on the patio. The entire atmosphere makes for great vibes while dining. As full as we were, Nasser indulged us in some baklava for dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal! We can't wait to return and try more of the menu. Highly recommend this place!

I don't consider myself a connoisseur in mediterranean food, but this was absolutely delightful. My taste buds were jumping for joy! The beef steak kebab plate was amazing, so many different flavors, I loved it. The staff was very friendly, I came in at an odd hour so it wasn't extremely busy. The space is inviting and comfortable, with some outside seating as well! Overall it was a wonderful experience, and I will be coming back again.

    Fantastic Food !

Very fresh and delicious food. Must visit for Mediterranean food cravings! The service was excellent too!

Combo kebab and chicken shawarma were incredible. The meats fell on the stick. They were so juicy and tender. Service was on point and the restaurant was so cute. Definitely my new go-to for Mediterranean on the west side!

Stopped by at Z Garden for lunch after seeing their yummy menu online. I got the chicken kabob plate while my buddy got the chicken pita wrap. The chicken is extremely flavorful with a smoky aroma and the rice is so soft and fragrant. It comes with hummus and salad which was refreshing and delicious. There was also complimentary pita and zatar olive oil which is a very nice touch. The restaurant ambiance is very nice, it has nice touches of greenery (really puts the garden in Z garden). The staff is very welcoming and friendly and i appreciate their good service. cant wait to come back

First time here at Z garden and wow, I was very impressed by the quality of the food! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles. We ordered the Babaghannouji, falafel, cauliflower fritters, and combo kebab. First, the portions are very generous. Second, everything we ate was incredible! The babaghannouji was Smokey and so flavorful, falafels were extra crispy, and kebabs were juicy! It feels like a friendly neighborhood restaurant vibe. I will definitely be back!! Thank you Z garden for the wonderful meal!

This is my first time here and I'm glad I tried this Lebanese food. I shared a combo plate which comes with 3 kabobs: chicken, steak, and ground beef, rice, salad, and hummus. Before the food arrived we were greeted with a plate of pita and olive oil with Zaatar. The food is well seasoned and the meat is very tender and juicy. The hummus is also delicious. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is clean. Location is near Santa Monica College on Pico and 24ths Street. The picture of the beef kebab is only a portion from the larger combo plate that I ordered to share. Will be back again!

Hungry Pocket makes the best falafel I've ever eaten…read more I started going here in 2009 while attending SMC. It was the first falafel I'd ever tried. Since that time, I have eaten falafel not only in different LA locations but also at locations across the country while living in NYC. Verdict: from coast to coast, Hungry Pocket makes the best falafel I can find. All other falafels seem to taste like dirt in my mouth in comparison. If you don't like falafel, you just haven't tried Hungry Pocket yet. I will edit this review if I find better falafel or if Hungry Pocket has changed/changes their recipe (will be visiting tomorrow for quality assessment purposes). The ambiance is that of a hole in the wall that you only know about if you went to SMC or know someone who went to SMC. You don't want anything to change because the whole point is that it feels like a hole in the wall that no one knows about. The service is direct. You order, they make your food right in front of you, you get it when it's ready, you eat it, and you are grateful. The baklava is also the best baklava. You should get a piece for dessert. Thank you, Jeff!!!

Their Shakshukah is a great way to start your morning. It is a wonderful breakfast item. It comes with eggs and salad with a great home made tomato sauce. They also have just eggs if you want. For lunch we love the Israeli Vegetables Salad, which has Finely cut assorted vegetables with lemon dressing, tomatoes and cucumber. It is the bomb. If you want to be daring, get their combination salad, which is a combination of all their salads. It is so good. Their Humus is great and has a wonderful lemon juice and olive oil. Recently, we were curious if our old go-to, Javan, was still any good. So, my wife and I dined there. The beef and chicken koobideh entrees were both excellent- so tender and juicy. This weekend, we have some friends visiting from San Francisco. As SF is a fantastic food town in its own right, we suggested two different food options that are better in L.A. than what you'll find up there: Korean BBQ or Persian food. The wife pushed a return to Javan. Alex, the manager, recommended the All Javan Combo for our party of 5. It includes tzatziki, hummus, salad, and flatbread to start followed by beef and chicken koobideh, chicken kabob, filet, lamb, and choice of rice. We added an eggplant stew with lamb shank and an extra skewer of chicken koobideh. Finished the meal off with hot tea, a sublimely-delicious saffron ice cream (house-made by Alex himself), baklava, and little bites that were like honey churro nubs. After we finished this feast of a meal, my daughter looked up at me and said, "This was one of the best Persian meals I've ever had." I must agree. This was a meal greater than the sum of its parts- food was very, very good and the experience was elevated by the warmth of Alex and his staff. It's rare that a restaurant works this hard to make its guests feel welcome. Free street parking and a full-bar (Alex is happy to whip-up a special cocktail for you). I give Javan my highest recommendation. Please eat here if you're in the mood for Persian food. Bon Appétit!
