Have used this towing service twice - once when my car's electronic security system was on the fritz and I couldn't get in (they even gave it their best efforts and couldn't open any doors), and once when my fiance's car battery died. They have been prompt, courteous, and extremely helpful and friendly both times. With my lockout, they were the only towing company willing and available to come out after "business hours" on a Friday night. They ended up replacing my fiance's battery for him with a higher quality battery than he was planning on buying, and the battery came with a lifetime free replacement guarantee. We'll never buy another battery for that car again. They replaced the battery quickly and we were back on with our lives within an hour or so of the breakdown! read more

I own a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country handicap equipped vehicle. Today my wife "who has disabilities ", was driving up West Ave towards Prairie Cemetery. At a spot where you normally start picking up speed she happened to look down for one second and found herself crashed into a stopped vehicle. The vehicle was stopped for a funeral precession coming into the cemetery. I don't understand why there isn't any lights or anything to warn drivers. The officer said to her that the van wasn't drivable and called a local company to tow it. She told them I was on the way. She went to the hospital. I got there just as they were driving off with the van. My beef is that when we called Elders to try to retrieve the van, with-in an hour after. We were told it would be $613.00! What? They literally moved it 3.1miles! then were told that they would waive weekend fees. What? Also if we can't pay the $613.00 cash then we would have to surrender the title just to get our belongings. Which is my child's booster seat my wife's walker and other items papers etc. That van, totaled or not has $20 000 in accessories and upgrades for disabilities. The engine has less than 75,000 miles on it. We also have free towing with AAA. If givin the option we would've had AAA tow it home. But instead of healing we have to worry about a greedy money hungry local business gouging it's neighbors. I'm not even given a chance to try to salvage it. My wife depends on that van. She has doctors appointments for her and my daughter frequently. Also drops off and picks her up from school everyday. I think that it's so wrong for them to gouge the very people who made their business. They are absolute criminals. According to multiple reviews I am not alone in this belief and have never bad mouthed a company before. My 16 year old son was rear-ended. The officer at the scene asked him if he would like a tow truck called.The tow truck driver assured him that getting it towed to Elder (where the driver worked) was the best idea because they work with all the insurance companies and it would be the cheapest and so on. They tow it 4.5 miles away to their shop (the car was rear ended a block from home) and the next morning.... he owes $458. CASH ONLY Plus another $160 for them to get it out of there (or keep spending $60 a day) SO $618..... He was told this is because it was a "police call" The one way tow was over $375. Then $120 in over night storage fees. Since they would be closing in a few mins.....his toe truck bills would be about $800+ if he waited or $600 if he paid right now. $600....for a 4 mile tow. They didn't care that they took advantage of a 16 year old and his frantic mother. Beware. They do not deserve your buisness. Pure cash grab. We are in a postion where we were able to pay them off. I feel terrible for those that are subjected to this type of shakedown for more than a day or two. If this establishment can tell me that any of my numbers are wrong...then I will remove this post. My car got towed due to an accident. I live out of town and had to work with multiple people on my side to get somone to go there. I contacted the owner and she was very helpful. She made my process a lot easier! It was very expensive to get out a couple days later, but it all worked out. Could have been alot more hectic. read more

This company, its' employees and owner are outright thieves. Our adult son got into and accident and the police called for a tow. The driver was rude and quoted a tow fee on site but wouldn't accept a card over the phone (son didn't have enough). Once the vehicle was towed they refused to accept a credit card as payment at all (in violation of their agreement with Visa) and all of a sudden the cost of the tow skyrocketed to over $200. Now they are holding the truck hostage with ridiculous fees unless we sign the vehicle over to them. Filing a complaint with the City of Waukesha and the State. Our motorcycle developed a flat that could not be repaired. Not only did Elders answer the phone right away but they came out to get us as quickly as possible which was less than 20 minutes. Kyle skillfully secured the motorcycle to the flat bed tow truck and got us home all the way into the next county. Pretty sure they delete or hide all of the negative reviews. These people are contracted by the city and are CROOKS. Double the tow price and charge you when you want to sign a title over, make you still pay the tip off rate even though you're signing the title over (note: most tow companies will wave the tow fee when your sign the title of the vehicle over, these people do not). Then when you tell them I would like to come get my vehicle they charge the tow rate plus a ton of storage after telling you- take you're time to figure it out. I have never in my life (and I have dealt with tow yards before) never met a company that knows they have a person by the strings and pulls out all stops to make sure they can screw someone, and knows they can get away with it because they have a city contract and tells you that out right. read more

I called Elder's to get their lot address and confirm that my car was indeed there, the guy who answers the phone says call back after 7 and then hangs up abruptly. When I try to call back he picks up and then hangs up once again as if he did not feel like doing his job. Stuck in the snow during a snow storm. I knew they would be busy and was told it would be two hours, very understandabledo to the 6 inches of snow. Elders called me back within the hour and said the truck is on the way. The driver was great on got my vehicle back on the road. This place is ALWAYS a huge hassle!! Organization and communication are a lost art there. My fiancé was in a car wreck and her car was towed there. Couldn't pick it up due to lack of paperwork. We didn't have the paperwork due to car being brand new. Talk about piling it on. If your ever in this position, just call someone to pick your vehicle or have it towed by someone else. read more

However when I went into see if they could have my car towed to another location the women in the office was VERY rude!! I am paying you for a service and customer service should be just another great service you provide. You are towing for the city of Waukesha this not only reflects your Business but the cities as well you would think that GREAT customer service would be something you would strive for. Very unhappy with the over all experience that was provided after already being in a horrible experience of a car accident. Elder's was great! I had to move my broken down car from a location in Waukesha County to a place in Milwaukee, in a narrow alley. The driver did a fantastic job! The spot was not particularly easy to get to, but it fit my car into the space like a glove. It was actually amazing to watch! He was efficient and friendly. Having to move this car was a major pain in my butt, but they made the whole experience tolerable. The entire process was handled very professionally and I would absolutely use them again. Also, they were FAR cheaper than anyone else I called. It was a great experience and I will definitely recommend them to others! read more

RUDE! Elders towed my car after it was totaled in an accident. They were closed at the time and would not even allow me to enter my car to get my apartment keys. When I said I had no way into my apartment and asked to just be allowed into my car to get the keys they simply suggested that I go stay with a friend for the night. When I arrived first thing in the morning to handle everything, they claimed that my registration was expired and that because of that I could not get the car. I knew my registration was not expired because I had just given in to a police officer the day before when my car got hit. I suggested an employee from Elders escort me to my car so I could show them where my registration papers were, and they refused. Everyone there has been extremely rude and difficult to work with throughout this process. Horrible customer service, treating me as though I am inferior to them, and stupid for not having the proper paperwork, despite the fact that it is all in the vehicle. read more

I was in a car accident and had to have my car towed on an early Saturday. The tow truck driver was prompt on coming to pick up my car. I wanted my car towed to a dealership to get the damage assessed. While he was putting my car on his flat bead, I guess his hydraulic system went out so he said he was unable to take it to the dealership at the time, he had to get the truck fixed first. This happened on a Saturday, so he said Monday he would be able to take my car. On Monday, Elder's refused to deliver my car and said I needed to come in with my id, title to my car, and insurance information in order for it to be released. They informed me it was not their fault my car was not delivered to the dealer, even though she said their truck had a minor complication. They wanted me (my insurance) to pay for the days my car was on their lot, even though my car was never even suppose to be on their lot, but was because their tow truck broke! Arriving at Elders there were three girls at the counter. Two of them were helping me. I gave them my insurance card, id and registration. They said that my name was not on the insurance I gave them (in a rude manner), luckily I had brought my insurance folder and policy information to prove I was. My dad had gone there earlier, who is also on the insurance policy trying to get my car out of there to the dealer and they refused for him to even go look at the car. They upset him so much, he walked out (and my dad is the most laid back person)! He warned me they were rude before I walked in, so I made sure to walk in with a smile and be polite. The ladies did help me, but not in a way customer service should. She even had the nerve to tell me, "An idiot would have known your car was totalled, no body shop would even want your car on their premises!" I explained to her my car was supposed to go to the dealer so my insurance could assess the damages to my car and declare if it is totalled or not. And the reason it was on their lot is because their tow truck broke down! Overall if you need a tow, call a different number. I called them because my mechanic said to use them, I wish I didn't. Two positives I got my car towed away from the accident scene, and she did give me a screw driver so I could go take off my license plate. read more

Jason, the company employee was professional, friendly, careful with my prized vehicle, and carefully placed my car on the flatbed, strapped it down carefully, and understood how much owners value their vehicle. My 77 year old Mother was in a car accident and her car was towed to Elders. She called the next day and was told there was nothing to do until the insurance company came and looked at the car. She assumed they were an auto repair shop. They did not mention that there was a daily storage charge of $45. The police report took over a week to obtain and by the time I was able to get her over to Elders they charged her $1,000 for storage and towing and it turns out they do not repair cars. When I questioned why they did not advise her that they were charging storage when she called they informed her that it was not their responsibility to inform her of anything. They were extremely rude and unwilling to negotiate the charges. I highly recommend that if you need your car towed do not allow Elders to be your service. read more
