We had crab cakes and beet citrus salad as starters,it was so good!Also shared a bottle of Frank Chardonnay which was very affordable and good too. I had the Miso sea bass and husband had the Braveheart filet. My miso dish started out good(loved the rice and mushrooms!)but the leeks with cod kind of had a sour aftertaste I didn't care for.I would get it again if it was just mushroom,miso and rice lol! That part was yummy. Husband's steak was so good!I'm definitely getting that next time. We had the butter cake and bread pudding for dessert.Liked both but preferred the bread pudding,one of the best we ever had. Service,hostesses was a class act and we felt pampered here. Unfortunately, I can't say I had the best first impression at Eldo, which came highly recommended from friends for my dad's birthday. I first made a reservation online, one week in advance for 5pm on a Tuesday. In the reservation notes, I specifically requested a table on the patio (I have a toddler that is in the throwing food on the ground phase), requesting a high chair and stating this dinner is for a 69th birthday dinner. When we arrived 5 minutes before our scheduled reservation, we had to wait almost 15 minutes past our reservation because our table outside was not ready. We had to wait for them to get cushions for the patio chairs, wait time 15 minutes. When they brought us back to the table stating it was "ready" - it wasn't; the table was not wiped down, there was not a high chair, no napkins/utinsils - needless to say, the table was still not ready. After almost 30 minutes past our reservation time, we finally sat down. Our server Nick was cool, personable and provided good recommendations. The best thing we ordered was the lobster roll. One of the best I have ever tried. They have a good selection of starters, seems to be their bread and butter at Eldo, just the starters. The oysters 1/2 doz for $24 was pretty good, nice and fresh oysters. The following entrees were pretty salty which included the Eldo Burger and Bolognese. My shrimp skewers were okay, it came with 2 skewers and the rest of the plate was a cucumber salad, a lot of roasted potatoes and 2 large homemade pita flatbread, nothing to write home about with the entrees. Pretty disappointing all together with the main dishes. With a bill of $325, sad to say Eldo is overrated in my honest opinion, sadly not rushing back for a second visit anytime soon. read more

We had our first meal at Eldo recently, and thought it was a solid four star, but not five star, experience. What went well: the hot honey fried chicken and crispy nigiri appetizers were superb (ok, five stars for them). The chicken and cod main dishes were solid (and large) servings, and were tasty. The place lends itself to warmer days. There's a lot of glass (large windows abound), which makes ambient noise and conversations bounce around. The table layout is not as intimate (or warm; see above) as it might be, and they could do with a few booths to cozy the place up a bit. Server was great. In fact, all the servers were great. The experience overall was pretty terrific, but not quite up to the level of 'perfection' we get when dining at Hawks in GB, as a comparison. I am happy to share some great intel. Not long after our visit, I got a text from the new manager Emilee. She reported that one of her first acts was to cover that ugly door and not allow anyone to use it. She even sent me a pic to show the change. My husband and I went for a second visit and I can confirm this is a gorgeous restaurant and that door is covered with beautiful velvet drapery. Service was excellent and food was good. The experience feels special and romantic. I could see that Emilee takes her job seriously by responding to the feedback plus the night of our second visit she was working hard running food and drinks to tables, helping keep things to run smoothly. Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got a chance to the other day. It was a Monday and they had an all day happy hour menu. We like to sit at the bar, so we found a spot that was surrounded by dirty dishes and squeezed in. It was a few minutes before we were acknowledged, and eventually got our drinks. Checking out the happy hour menu, we decided to go with a few small plates. We tried the Mexican corn, sausage and flat bread, fried chicken with cornbread, and crispy nigiri bites. Everything was fine, but nothing was great. If we would have paid full price, it would have been deeply disappointing. At this point we were still surrounded on both sides by dirty dishes. I was very fortunate to go to an event that was partially catered by ELDO, Hamachi Shooters have been on my mind ever since. Needless to say, I have been looking forward to dining at the restaurant. Pulled up on a weekday, service was pretty light but I still sat at the bar. Place is very nice, great ambiance, excellent place for a date night. I came specifically for the Hamachi Shooters and they were well seasoned and flavorful but lacked any textural contrast. Delicious but some type of wonton crisp or chip (or cone) would've definitely set it off. Still a banger but there's other things I'd try next time. Octopus was cooked perfectly (which is not easy, hats off to the chef) and had a great balance in flavors. This was an adventure in Potato Salad but I enjoyed it nonetheless. If you like octopus, I'd say def worth the order. All in all, great experience and will def pull up when in the area, 4/5. read more

Had a reservation, arrived early but they still needed time to set up our table for 5. The food was good. I'm a fan of the lobster rolls appetizer. If there is one thing you order, let it be this! My family and I dined in on a Monday night with reservations at 6:45pm. We were very excited to dine here since we were celebrating my dad's retirement as a family and I have read great reviews so far. We sat down and waited 10 minutes until we were greeted by our server. We had to ask one of the employees for waters and menus, menus were given but waters were not filled until we asked again. While we sat with this unwelcoming feeling, I noticed that tables around us were constantly getting checked on which was disappointing since we had to ask for the menus and waters. We finally were able to look at the menu and then placed an order. Our appetizers did come out quickly which was nice. We ordered the octopus and crab cake appetizer. Both items were tasty so no complaints for the food. After the appetizers they cleared the table, and then the main dishes started to come out. All dishes were presented nicely but they forgot to give us new utensils so the food was sitting at the table for a couple of minutes and we ended up having to ask for new utensils. But, they did forget one main dish which was delivered 15 minutes after everyone else and our server did not seem to care. This was the worst restaurant management experience I've had not only in Eldorado Hills, but in totality. We arrived as a group of six with a 7:00 PM reservation for a birthday celebration and were not seated for over an hour because the table reserved for us was still occupied by a previous party who had been there nearly 3 hours, even after already finishing their meal. Despite repeatedly asking the hostess to check on the situation throughout the hour and manage the overstayed table, nothing was done. There is no area for waiting guests, so we had to stand next to other tables near the bar. We ultimately escalated directly to the owner and told him we were prepared to leave and dine elsewhere. The owner specifically told us he would "make it worth our while." Only after that conversation were we squeezed into a small 4-person table. While waiting to be served, we watched two other parties go through the exact same situation, both having to escalate to management just to be seated well past their reservation times. On top of the 6 person party that refused to leave after their meal was finished, there was a 20-30 person corporate party playing holiday games where throughout the night, the owner was drinking and socializing with this group, even sitting at their table, while multiple reserved parties stood waiting, frustrated. We spoke directly to another party who had a 7:30 PM reservation, and they shared how shocked they were by how we were treated. They weren't seated until around 9:00 PM, and only after complaining themselves. After about 1.5 hours, we were finally situated. As part of the owner's promise to "make it worth our while," we were brought complimentary rosé--which was bottom shelf, undrinkable, and largely left untouched. This was in no way appropriate or meaningful remediation. Food was mixed at best: - They were out of the truffle Parker house rolls, which was the item I was most looking forward to - Garlic shoestring fries were good, but no one cared for the Greek fries - Chicken cornbread was flavorful, but the chicken was dry - Burger and scallops was decent, but caesar salad was soggy and not great - Vodka chicken parm had far too little sauce - Wagyu filets were fine - For dessert, the birthday guest received a caramel popcorn sundae, which unfortunately had extremely stale popcorn--so stale it felt impossible to chew. It was left completely uneaten What makes this experience even more frustrating is that we personally witnessed other late-seated parties receive far better remediation: one party had their entire meal comped, while another received free appetizers in addition to the rosé. We definitely did not feel like our special night out was "made worth our while" after still paying a $500 bill. There is a deep issue of mismanagement here, made worse by clear favoritism. The owner was visibly cozying up to certain tables while completely neglecting others--specifically guests who had reservations and were waiting far past their scheduled times. This is not a one-off mistake; it reflects total mismanagement. Check my reviews- I've dined at a lot of establishments. The correct approach that is best practice in industry is: - Actively manage table turn times by clearing tables that have finished dining and have passed their reservation allotted time - If the restaurant is absolutely behind schedule, stop accepting new guests and suggest they come back another day - Treat all parties the same, not just the ones you choose to socialize with This restaurant's inability to manage reservations, hold overstaying tables accountable, and fairly remediate impacted guests--especially while the owner prioritized socializing with other parties--made this an experience we would not recommend. read more

My husband and daughter (2 year old) came with a reservation at 6pm to enjoy a lovely dinner for my birthday. Parking was easy and the space has outdoor seating, too but it was a bit cold that day for that. We were able to get a high chair for my daughter and the service was attentive and accommodating. We asked for the cornbread from a dish only and they were able to accommodate just the bread -- and we loved it! So good! We had the following too: - Mexicano shaved corn: so flavorful and limey - loved it! - crab cakes: great but least memorable of all dishes - brioche parker house rolls: love my bread and especially when warm. The truffle butter was also delicious with it but the bread can totally be amazing on its own already - yiayia's green garden salad: love the pine nuts and citrusy taste - grilled octopus: my daughters favorite and we enjoyed it too - braveheart fillet: decent but not as memorable as I'd hope - bolognese pasta: too salty and the noodles were too hard - least favorite dish. - two tickets to paradise mocktail: delicious drink with and without alcohol (husband had the alcohol) Overall, really enjoyed the experience and space. This is the spot in EDH, aka El Dorado Hills. The ambience was suited for a causal and semi causal wear. The interior design and decoration was appealing to the eye, very elegant and fancy if you're looking to dress up for the evening. Once seated, the service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and on point, whether it was topping our drinks and kept a manageable eye on our table. The cocktails were delicious with a touch of greatness . The old fashion was to die for, mixed adequately to perfection. The espresso martini to die for, the amount of liquor was perfect. I love this drink. The food, the lobster rolls were delicious, cooked perfectly with the amount of butter. Just delicious. The chicken parmagiano was huge in serving, topped with pasta, very tasty. I came here for a work related dinner and can't wait to bring my husband back for a date night. Upon entering we were greeted by the owner Angelo who was very hospitable. Adam was our server and was a rockstar. The service was great and not once did we have to look for him for anything. He was always in the shadows somehow but right there when you needed anything without even having to ask. We sampled a few appetizers but the chicken and corn bread as well as the truffle fries were my favorite. I then had the miso cod. NGL I could literally eat the rice cake that it came with just by itself every day. It was crunchy on the outside, chewy and moist on the inside with lots of flavor. And if you have room for dessert...two words. BUTTER CAKE so good and the ice cream was Love the ambiance. First time here, and I was impressed with both the menu and the reasonable pricing. I had some reservations going in after reading a few Yelp reviews, though most of the criticism centered on service rather than the food. I'd agree that the service could use some refinement, but the food overall was very good and I will definitely return. Our table started with the fried chicken and cornbread bites, which did not disappoint. I followed that with the chicken parmigiana, which was exceptional. The tableside presentation--adding the sauce, pasta, and cheese at the table--kept the generously sized chicken portion from getting soggy, and it was fried perfectly. The only miss on the food side was the Bolognese Pappardelle, which needed salt. Once adjusted, it was much improved. Service issues included inconsistent water and beverage service and a lack of follow-up after food delivery (we had to track someone down to get salt). That said, these were minor issues and wouldn't keep me from returning. They also have a nice-looking bar and what appears to be a solid happy hour menu. Looking forward to trying that next. PS. We came in with a reservation and were seated immediately. Given that the restaurant wasn't busy on a Sunday around noon, a reservation didn't seem necessary. The space itself is beautiful, with clean lines and inviting tones that create a great atmosphere. Service started a bit slow. It took a while to get water to the table, but things improved after that. We ordered a round of drinks and they were all well made and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience declined once we got to the food. It took about 45 minutes for our meals to arrive, which feels excessive for a fixed brunch menu. When the food finally came out, there were several issues. My friend's salad was missing dressing, had a piece of brown, slimy lettuce, and most concerning, the shrimp were undercooked and essentially raw. It completely turned her off from eating, and she ended up leaving hungry. To the restaurant's credit, our waitress handled the situation very well. She was apologetic, acknowledged that they missed the mark, and removed both my friend's dish and her husband's order from the bill. We appreciated her effort to make things right. What was disappointing was the lack of involvement from management. No one came by to check on the situation or offer a follow up, which felt like a missed opportunity given how serious the issue was. Overall the experience of this restaurant was good! We came here for a company dinner and had a party of 12. Large parties 12 and up are asked to pre select their menu prior to their reservation. For the appetizers we shared yummy sushi bites, lamb chops and crab cakes. For our salad we had the option of Caesar or a wedge (the Caesar came as a wedge though) and for our main entree we were served Lamb chops, New York steak, Braveheart, charred broccoli and truffle fries (the fries were SO GOOD). Portions, excellent 3 platters of meat for all with leftovers to spare. Service was really good granted it was a little slow at times and took a little while to get our items but the restaurant was packed so that's to be expected. We came in on a Wednesday night and our server Adam was amazing!! Super attentive, kind, and really made the evening smooth. The GM even stopped by to check in, which I appreciated. We ordered family style: crab cakes (always on point), the ahi tower (crispy wonton chips with fresh flavor), the Eldo wedge salad (delicious with sweet bacon bits), scallops over a flavorful Thai curry, and the 24oz filet. The scallops were cooked perfectly tender and glistening. The filet came out a bit more medium than the medium rare I ordered, but still enjoyable. I just prefer mine a little bloodier.After dinner, we wandered into the casino area and I have to say, it's impressive to see a little casino tucked inside a restaurant. The space was bright, clean, and well maintained. Security at the entrance checked IDs, which made it feel safe and organized. We stopped by the blackjack table and everyone we encountered, including Amy, Clinton, and Tina at the cashier, were friendly, professional, and welcoming. We were so bummed to arrive at Eldo yesterday, having driven up from Sacramento specifically for the lobster roll, and tuna wonton appetizer that are both no longer on the menu. They obviously don't listen to their customers because the reviews here are about customers loving both of those items. Apparently they switched the menu u on Thursday, and the bartender gave us some excuse that they had added more seafood to the menu instead which we didn't see. We had these weird flavorless hamachi shooters with barely any fish and a bunch of bland guacamole. Their version of a wedge salad is mediocre at best. The couple sitting next to us at the bar was also there for the lobster role. Maybe they will bring it back or at least update your online menu so we don't drive for something not available. read more

What a disappointment, we had high expectations and service fell short. We had a reservation for 4 at 7:30pm on the patio. We showed up early and were told that we could be seated whenever we were ready by the hostess, which was great. We got a round of drinks at the bar. The ladies had espresso martinis, which were half foam, not good. Live music was good, but volume was too high, it was hard to have a conversation. The waitress was the main problem, not friendly. We had to ask multiple times for our drink orders. We ordered two apps, the dozen oysters and the lamb chops. The lamb chops app only came with two lamb chops, not easy to share with a table of 4, the waitress should have mentioned that when we ordered. Oysters were not separated from the shell, the wife said she had pieces of the shell in her oysters, rookie move from the kitchen. At this point we had been there for over an hour and had not been asked if we wanted to order our entrees yet. I had to walk over to the bar area to flag down our waitress. I asked her if we could place our orders and she quickly walked to our table, she actually walked right past me and beat me to the table. She never apologized for anything, even an excuse like, "I'm the only server", would have helped with our frustration. After ordering our entrees we still were not getting simple things like our table bused from our apps, waters filled. At this point we had been there for over an hour and half. We had to go to the hostess station to request to see the manager, when the manager arrived at our table, we realized that she had never checked on the patio, we had not seen her at all while we were there. We explained to her our situation very professionally and she apologized and thanked us for our feedback. We asked to close out our bill and pay for our apps and drinks and that we didn't want our entrees. We told her that we just wanted to leave. As we were requesting our bill, the manager said that there would be no charge for what we had on our bill. Then our entrees started to show up. The manager wanted us to stay and eat, saying that there would be no charge for the entrees too. At this point we didn't want to stay any longer and decided to leave without eating the entrees. Worst Mother's Day ever! Sat in the direct sun, no water at the tables, hardly any food availability, and food options were terrible. We dined at Eldo two times. We will not be back. first time they undercooked my expensive steak so I sent it back. my husband was completely done eating and my steak finally came out. Second dining experience my husband ordered an entree with the sauce on the side. everyone was served at the table but him. They said the cook messed up his order so it took another 20 minutes to arrive. we were all done eating. Oh and my $58 filet and potatoes came out barely luke warm. Sorry Eldo, but you are in the restaurant business, try and act like it. read more

Excellent service and meal. We sat outside where it was cool but the patio heat lamps made it very comfortable.

I came out to this restaurant/casino last Friday evening to listen to live music by an artist, Cj Washington. Wow, such a beautiful place tucked away in El Dorado Hills! From the moment, we entered we were immediately greeted by the sweetest hostesses! Everyone and I mean EVERYONE who works there provided excellent Customer Service! But my new bestie, ERICA... went the extra mile for my friend and I! The drinks were just right and the food was prepared to perfection! I had Lobster Rolls and my friend had shrimp tacos! The night was perfect with the music, exceptional service, great food and acquiring new friends who are also locals in the area! What more could I ask for except the fact that I'm coming back very soon to try out their happy hour and also, to celebrate my birthday at ELDO in November for sure! read more

Service was meh. Long wait to be seated for it not being a busy night. Everyone was friendly, bar and area was clean, chic and welcoming. Food is big disappointing and over priced. Lobster rolls were good, however, not a lot of actual meat in them. Wedge salad was very refreshing and had good flavor. Pork chops were not cooked (rare In 3 pieces) and potatoes were cold. Chicken parm had about 3 cups of cheese. So be prepared for that if you order that. They offered us desert to make up for the undercook pork.
