We saw the reviews about their steak and decided to stop in one night. It's a nice quaint down to earth spot. We had calamari, which was really good and not the frozen stuff but fresh, hot, and not greasy or chewy. For our meals, we had the cowboy steaks with truffle fries for me and grilled asparagus for my lady. When I tell you this was a great steak, I mean everything about it was right. My wife is a stickler for medium well, and they nailed it. I have had steak in some of the most exclusive restaurants in the USA, and this little place can stack up to the best of them. Their steaks, burgers, pasta's and seafood are all extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. Their flavored butter on the steaks add enough flavor without it being overkill. I often compare their steaks to a traditional steakhouse but at half the price. You lose some atmospheric elements, but in my opinion, only one thing matters: The Food and the Service. Honestly I came here on a whim, and I'll never regret that choice. I ordered the calamari as my app, the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus was my main. The calamari was fresh, no fishy smell at all that you would get at some places, the batter was delicious, light with ton of flavor, I would honestly would rank it in my top three calamari dishes that I've had in my life, I would absolutely recommend it. My steak was beautifully cooked to exactly what I asked for, the mashed potatoes were fluffy with a light buttery flavor, could have used a little more in my personal opinion but it doesn't detract from how good they were. The asparagus had a ton of flavor and were crispy and very pleasant to eat, a refreshing taste to go along with your meat, almost a palate cleanser. The Steak though was worth the trip, the sear on the outside was delicious, filled with flavor and given with a nice swab of garlic butter on top, with a delicious sauce on the side for dipping. Every bite was as good as the last and honestly the only bad part of the meal was that it ended. The term Hidden Gem gets thrown around a lot, but I honestly believe this place is the absolute definition of it. Knowing a steakhouse of this quality is so close to home is a very great feeling, they just opened a couple of years ago and they're a family run business. We came for lunch on a Sunday, and it was pretty empty inside.. seems like they do a lot of delivery. It's not a fancy or fast serviced place, but worth it for the food and prices. Plus they're byob. We got the spinach dip.. crispy chips and dip was soo cheesy. Also shared the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes, bistro burger (can't beat the $10 for this), and seafood pasta with Alfredo sauce. Amazing place! We recently tried this place out because my husband wanted steak and I wanted pasta. Guess what? Eleazar Steakhouse had both! We had high expectations for the steak and low expectations for the pasta (because who really eats pasta at a steakhouse)? But we were completely blown away!! Steak was amazing and reasonably priced. The pasta was HANDMADE. PERFECTLY AL DENTE and have now topped my favorite pasta place list (even beating out Aunt Jake's in NYC). Great pricing, friendly service place, and an overall local gem. The owner is the nicest man, honest and friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough. We have only done take-out and it exceeded beyond our expectations. Cannot wait to try dine-in! read more

As places begin to reopen in north NJ, I really hope folks within the Kearny, Harrison and North Arlington (even as far out as JC) section check this place out. I've ordered from them numerous times online (for delivery) and always found the food cooked to perfection/piping hot (even after being delivered). Yes, some say that steak is as simple as a menu item as it can get but I can tell you from experience that even 5 star restaurants in NYC do not always cook it right. Eleazar Steakhouse does. I ordered a Cobb salad I said no dressing it gets to my house they put the dress anyway this dressing has spilled on my salad. I'm trying to call to complain and I'm getting an answering service. They must've put a whole onion in here it over powers every thing. I have cancer all I wanted was a salad. I usually don't complain but this is stupid when I specifically said no dressing. I've been trying a lot of new places since the pandemic started. Some places are good, others completely miss the mark. But none come close to Eleazar. I ordered the Buffalo wings to start and they were just amazing. It gave me a lot of hope for the main course. For dinner I got the New York strip with mashed potatoes, and onion rings. First, the onion rings tried to steal the show. The breading was light and buttery, I ate far too many at the time. The mashed potatoes were light and creamy. I did add a small amount of butter and they were then perfect. Then, the reason to order from here, the steak. I ordered mine medium rare. When I took the top off the to go container it smelled like heaven. Then cutting into the first piece it was pink all the way through. A perfect medium rare. And it tasted better than any steak I've ever ordered off of Yelp. It costs a few dollars but it's a steak house with great food so I found the price incredibly fair. I will be ordering from here again. That's a no brained!! read more
