Ok I'm updating my review. Still giving 5 stars but I have to share about KC!!!! KC did my gel manicure and was so sweet. She told me to come in every 3 weeks and that they won't break chip or peel. I thought she was crazy because every time I get my nails done they always peel or chip but I've now gone to her 4-5 times and she's 100% right. I'm a customer for life and will follow KC forever. I am trying to contain my disappointment as I write this review. I will say this much: just because you don't look like you speak and understand Vietnamese, that doesn't mean you can talk absolute $hit about your customers and think that you can get away with it. My wife and children went to this salon to get pampered. The three women who tended to my family, continued to berate and insult my wife because she didn't want to pay for extra for ornamental designs in my 11 yr old's toes. They called my wife the Vietnamese version of "bitch". My wife smiled, continued speaking in English during her entire stay. It was bad enough that they started late. The appointment was for 630pm. They didn't start until 7:00pm. What's worse is that they thought they can talk this way in front of my family. At the end of the evening, my wife said to them in her native tongue, "if you can't stick to your schedule please tell your clients ahead of time." Naturally their eyes widened as they realized my wife understood them the whole time. Please don't spend your hard earned money here. They don't deserve your business. read more

I came in the other day with my elderly mother. To start of the acrylics are cheap and the lady who did it does a pretty nice job. She wasn't pushy and understood what I wanted. The manicure and pedicure is the problem here. The ladies were pushy and continue edging my mother to get this and that done. It got to the point my mother was so overwhelm that she just accepted it. They disregard what my mother wanted which is truly upsetting. The worst part the job wasn't even done nicely. Honestly if you want cheap acrylics done nicely come here. I've been coming here for the last 6 months. The staff are friendly and kind, and I've never had to wait. The prices are fair for the area and they do a great job. Update: I still only come to Elegance Nail Spa. I had to do an update because Teresa is SO sweet, and has been taking great care of my nails. Unlike other nail techs at other nail salons, Teresa never complains about how long it takes the gel to come off my nails (the color seems to like my nails), and never rushes or even uses the filing drill to get the gel off quickly. I cant even give this place a rating !!!!!!! It was soooooo bad! I walk in tell them i want a full set, knowing that it always takes an Hour for that, they seat me and i sit and wait...... i have acrylic and gel so they need to be soaking to save time, no-one comes to do that. Finally Cathy( blonde dyed hair) comes over is moving really fast-puts tin foil on every nail with acetone, wraps my hands in a towel and puts a plastic bag around , leaves and starts to give the lady across from me a manicure, that poor lady was waiting around too! 30 minutes later she comes back to take my foil off, and its a mess the acrylic and cotton are stuck, A NIGHT MARE!!!! She proceeds to chisel away at my nails with no end in sight! I was giving her the benefit of the doubt! 30 more minutes go by still can't get them clean! I finally said , i have to go ! 1 1/2 later botched nails , no full set and shaking from the stress! I told her i would pay for her time, i quietly walked out NEVER TO RETURN! My daughter-in-law law took my 2 granddaughters here to get pedicures as a treat. They had an appointment and were finally taken an hour later. Both nail technicians tried to convince my granddaughters to get their nails done too and they both said no it's ok. This interaction started a flurry of Vietnamese conversation about my daughter-in-law which was not flattering to say the least - nor can I explain on this post the language and names they called the mother of my grand children in Vietnamese!!!. My daughter-in-law maintained her composure because she is fluent in Vietnamese and understood everything that was being said about her. Upon her departure she spoke fluently to them. For all of us who go to nail salons that are managed by Vietnamese people - if you ever thought they were talking crap about you - your RIGHT ! Especially this salon. Not happy at all. I'm so late on most of all my reviews but this one can't wait any longer. My gut was saying "walk out" before the nail tech does more damage. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by an older lady who seemed determined to have a conversation with me even though I clearly just wanted to shut my eyes and relax in peace. Some people don't like to chitter chatter and some of these nail techs need to respect that. The place was near empty which normally is a red flag for me considering the time of day it was. My nail tech (lady w/short hair - forgot her name) took awhile to get started which wasted a good amount of time. I thought they were ready for me when I walked in? I had to pick up my child afterwards which I had expressed to the lady. She assured me she would finish on time. Just effin be honest and straight forward from the GO! When the nail tech finally started on my nails, I could already tell she was sloppy with the nail glue application causing the glue to get stuck to the sides of my fingers. I figure, having had my nails done for several years that it was nothing as long as she gently and SAFELY separated the glue from my skin BEFORE filing.... which she did NOT (which I'll get into later). The nail tech was slow in the beginning and normally I'd let that slide if she was AT LEAST meticulous with her work but she wasn't. It did not look like she was going to finish on time either. I didn't particularly like the nail placement on certain fingers, the glue application, and the way she filed my nails. She didn't even clean and trim my cuticles. Mind you, I've been getting my nails done since my teens and I have family who own salons so I know the deal. A good nail tech should not "HASTILY" rush but they shouldn't take their sweet old time either (unless you're having extremely detailed or special art work done) because clients have places to go, people to see, kids to pick up, and important things to do. I only requested a simple set with ombré French tips which were already pre-painted on the acrylic nails, therefore, this should have been a very quick simple job but it wasn't. I don't usually get acrylic nails but this time I needed the length. That day, I had to pick up my child and I kindly reminded my nail technician that I had to leave within a certain amount of time (as stated prior). She assured, "We finish on time. Don't worry." but so much time had already passed and she was nowhere near done. My regular nail tech was out of town, otherwise I would NOT have came here. I only came here since it was close to my child's appt and I wanted to try them out in case they're good. BIG MISTAKE which I regret. Going back to the thing I mentioned about her messy application of the glue, the lady ended up cutting me pretty deep with the nail filer! She was ROUGH! I had my eyes closed before it happened because I was trying to rest and woke up to a sharp pain on my ring finger. I examined my finger and noticed a deep gash on the side because AS MENTIONED EARLIER... the woman did not properly and safely separate the glue from my skin before filing. Plus, she was rough with that damn filer! I was extremely annoyed especially as she continued to try and file that same finger in the area where she cut me!!!! I told her to stop and that I wanted to file my own nails and the freaking lady kept saying, "No, I do it. It's easier." I kept insisting and she insisted back. Anyway, I was extremely tired and highly annoyed. She had no damn sense. I told her to stop filing the rest of my nails because she clearly didn't know how to properly file and she was wasting even more time on something I will end up filing myself when I get home. She said the reason she cut me was because she was rushing because I told her I had to leave within a certain amount of time to pick up my child. Is she effin kidding me?!! UH NO, the reason YOU cut me is because you're INEXPERIENCED to know when it's safe to start filing.. on top of being TOO ROUGH with that filer! That's just absurd as hell for her to even say that to me, as though I'm that stupid to believe her BS reason for cutting me. She's just trying to save her own hide because she knew why it happened. That actually pissed me off the most when she tried to do that. No lady, you were rushing, you weren't paying attention, and you aren't experienced enough to know that you need to make sure it's safe to start filing! The worst nail tech is the kind who blames clients for THIER OWN mistakes and inexperience. I still paid what was due, which was the full amount PLUS TIP just because I'm a nice person by nature. This was THE WORST nail tech for me. Never again. I would not come back here even if they paid me but I will take a full refund on what I paid. I shouldn't have tipped and they should never expect anyone to anyway. It's a privilege, not a right. You only get tip if you deserve it. read more
