This place is easy to find/see from the street. When I walked in, I was expecting a bigger front area but it was small with only two chairs to wait. FYI: they ask you to pay for your service before hand and if you pay with card they tack on an extra $2 so I would recommend just bring cash. I was directed into a room, asked to undress and cover myself with a towel, there was no cover or draw sheet to lay under. There was also no place to put my clothes so I had to put them on the floor. The massage was indeed great. I like a firm and deep tissue massage. I felt so relaxed. I would have appreciated though, if masseuse asked if there were any areas i wanted her to focus on but the pressure was great. Once the massage was done, I got dressed but before I was done, my masseuse came in and started turning over the room. I understand they are trying to prepare for the next client but at least wait until I have my pants on before coming in. I would come back or even try their other location. read more

I've heard decent things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. It's relatively easy to find (on the second floor) and was nice and clean compared to other asian massage places. My friend made a 2:30 PM appointment for 3 of us. They took my friends in first and I patiently waited in their small waiting area until they called me in. I see that there is no receptionist and it's already a hot mess since the masseuses are trickling in and out of the rooms to help manage the front desk. Not sure if this is a normal thing, but I work in the service industry too and I know it's sooo important to have a receptionist manage the office so that masseuses can focus on giving the client their massages. Someone comes in at 3PM for their massage appointment and he was immediately attended to and taken before me. WHAT? So the lady who was managing the front desk for a while ends up being my masseuse and 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, she finally takes me back- which should have been a red flag to just NOT get the massage. The massage itself was great! She checked in with me to make sure the pressure was perfect, which I appreciated. When I checked my watch, I realize that she had finished 10 whole minutes early! In massage time, that's precious minutes!! I was extremely irritated, but she had already left the room before I could say anything. I tried not to make a big fuss out of it too since my friends were already waiting for me and we had plans after the massage. I ended up handing my masseuse a stack of dollar bills (I had no other big bills lol), and she looked extremely disappointed and didn't even bother thanking me (It was still a 22% tip). I'm a foot spa junkie. I've been to most of them in our area and my go-to's are Footlax in Milpitas and Happy Feet in Cupertino. But the other day I found both my favorites booked, and with a crick in my neck, I was desperate to get a massage somewhere. I drive by Elegance every day - multiple times - since it's located a stone's throw away from our house. I never thought of going there, seems a bit too foo-foo for me. But this day, I thought I would give it a go. I called to make an appointment, it was toward the end of the night. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk didn't have record of my appointment. We went through the back and forth of trying to figure out why. She went in the back to the massage area trying to find the person who took my call and booked my appointment. I'm not sure if she figured it out, but she came back and told me she would ready a room for me. I chilled for about 10-15 minutes. More waiting than I bargained for. Then, she came out and lead me back to the room. Another 10-15 minute wait. Laying there, without my phone, agony! lol. Finally the masseuse arrives, apologizes and the show gets on the road. The massage was very good. She kept checking with me to see if the pressure was ok which I appreciated. The massage did not include feet which was disappointing. When I mentioned that afterwards, I was told I should have mentioned it up-front and it could have been accommodated. She did give extra attention to my neck which was very sore, and I left feeling much better. I'm inclined to give Elegance four stars based on the massage, but for the lack of professionalism and the mix-up that happened with my lost appointment - it's more like a three. Elegance is pricier than the regular foot spa variety, it's $50 for 70 minutes. It's funny how that extra 10 minutes makes such a difference. And the other good thing about this place is the fact that you have your own private room. It's quiet and peaceful. My experience at Elegance Spa was great! My first time here and my masseuse, Vicky, had a great technique. I made sure to give her a good tip since we're still in a pandemic (this place does accept card but I always use cash). I wished I was offered the aromatherapy but I'll make sure to ask for it next time. I didn't have to wait for too long to get my room set up and the employees were all very nice! Booked an early appointment with Cici. She is friendly and was good massage with good pressure on the muscle and details. Few minor items that I decided to deducted one star. 1) I am a first time customer and first customer of the day but I did not feel welcome by the receptionist (maybe the owner). However, I experienced the same in most of Asian massage businesses so I was not surprised. 2) The lobby and the room has only the curtain while other places I went have the door. I expected to hear the noise in other room and from customers coming in the room due to thin wall but at this place I could hear the noise from the lobby. I gave a good tip as I did in most massage place I went to. Maybe someone want to give few $$ less but for me, I don't have to get in a situation which can ruin a suppose to be relax time. I've updated my review from 3 stars to 4 stars. I woke up the day after my massage feeling slightly sore but nothing like the previous day. There is a noticeable improvement in the range of motion of my neck and back-- I no longer have to strain to check for cars when changing lanes. I still think there are a few simple changes this business could make to improve the customer experience (explained in my original review), but I have no hesitation about returning for a massage or recommending this place to others. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW*** What I Appreciated: -They have online booking. (San Jose location) -I was able to get a next-day appointment for two people. -The receptionist recognized it was our first time there and instructed us to take off everything except underwear, lie on the table, and cover with a blanket. Even though we already knew this, we felt taken care of by hearing these instructions. What I Wish Had Been Different: -They require payment for the service up front. It was a minor annoyance to have to run my card before the massage and again afterwards to tip. -There is a fee for using a credit card. My recommendation to the business is to build this fee into the cost of the services and offer a discount to customers paying cash. People are generally a lot happier to receive discounts than to be charged unexpected fees. -The masseuse didn't seem to know what type of massage I had made an appointment for. I booked a Swedish massage but feel like I received a combination of a Thai massage (she asked a few times if she could walk on my back) and a deep tissue massage (the massage was deep and painful). -When you leave the room, the masseuse is standing right outside the door to offer you a styrofoam cup of water and receive cash tips. It felt staged and awkward, but I think it just might be a cultural difference. I left a $25 tip by credit card for a 60-minute massage, but the vibes I got was that they would've preferred cash, which made me feel awkward. My recommendation to the business is to notify customers about tipping expectations (e.g., by cash) for their business when an appointment is being made to avoid any awkwardness for the customer. Final Thoughts: I haven't decided yet whether I will return to this place for a massage. None of the cons were dealbreakers for me--just things I wish I would've known about in advance. I had my massage about 11 hours ago and now my back muscles are so sore it hurts to move. I don't know yet whether this is indicative of a really good massage or a really bad one. As soon as I heard Elegance Spa was opening again, I booked immediately. I got one of the first massages since they opened back up. I have been coming here for at least a year and a half and have had 2 different massage therapists. Kelly and Anna, I highly recommend both if you want an extremely deep tissue massage. Anna is my typical go to as she is able to usually work the knots out of my back. These is a clean and legitimate establishment. Its easy to communicate with the massage therapists and if you needed or want them to push easier or harder just communicate with them. I will continue to visit this place at the very least once a month and I highly recommend giving them a chance. read more

Would give them a 1 star if possible. First of the massage is ok not a lot of pressure and just a bunch of oil rubbing. They left twice for 5 minutes as well. That's not the problem though. After the ok massage I pulled out a $10 and gave it to the lady, she looked upset and said usually you're supposed to give 20. I looked at her and wanted to laugh. I said that's all the cash I have and she got upset saying they work so hard and they need more tips. I see in these reviews a lot of people have the same issues and there response to them is always the same "we work hard for 1 hour" "if you can't tip you shouldn't come". It blows my mind that this is how they defend themselves. If you aren't getting paid enough raise the prices. Stop forcing people to feel bad for not tipping or simply just do your job better and potentially earn more. This place is also on the lower end of massage places. Amazing massage! I've been coming here for years. It used to be $50 for 70 mins. But they changed it to $55. I was asking the receptionist the difference of Thai massage and aromatherapy. But couldn't express herself well. She's a sweet Chinese lady. Which happens to be my massage therapist too. She needed to call somebody from the back to interpret for her. But it's okay. My massage went well. Yuyu you're the best! My back was sore and stiff for a while. She focused on my lower back & shoulder. After 60 mins, I feel light and relax. I didn't want to get up. It's s bit more expensive and an upscale from your typical foot massage place, $55/70 minutes, but well worth the extra cost. I came there with tight back and shoulders and she knew how to target the area. The place is clean and relaxing. I didn't get any interruptions or hear much background noise which is a plus in my book. Parking is plentiful and there's a yogurtland in the same plaza. The place opens at 9:30AM on Saturday. I called at 9:20AM and got an appointmetn for 9:30AM. Pros: -Private room -Decent price - $50 for 70 minutes. Cash only. I tipped $10 and did not get harrassed. Cons: -Nothing special about the massage. I requested deep tissue and was just given a normal massage. No attempt was made to find and alleviate knots -At one point my massage therapist just left the room to greet another customer. She did so without saying anything. What a harrowing experience. If you are feeling angry and violated at the end of your massage, that's a problem. The masseuse almost crushed me to death in spite of me telling her a dozen times to go lighter. One time she explained to me in her broken English that she can't go lighter because there are a lot of tough spots in my body. She dug her nails into my hand and then ran them down my hand like that. God knows how I stopped myself from screaming. I said to her - "that's hurting. Do you have long nails?" No response for her. There was definitely a language barrier. For the record, I have gotten a massage around 15 to 20 times so I know that this massage wasn't normal. In the last few mins she started scratching my head furiously like a maniac. I told her that was enough. After it was over there were tears in my eyes and I felt angry and traumatized. What stopped me from just getting up and putting a stop to the traumatic experience? The fact that I was almost naked and lying face down most of the time made me pretty vulnerable. It's not as easy as walking out of a restaurant. The second star is for Sophia - one of their masseuses who I like, who was my masseuse the first 2 times I went there. Note to owner: please make sure your masseuses are properly trained and understand at least some English!! read more

The place is clean and cozy, the massages... are OK. A little bit of a problem is the difficulty in communication with the staff - most of them speak very little English. I'm not sure if they know the sequence/order of the massage and the direction of the movement. Yes you can get a foot massage with a bit of body massage for $25.00 at many places but that does not compare to what you get here. Worth the money for what you get. I seriously love this place, and I think the price is moderate. If you want quality, then the price must be paid, which is really not that bad, because I think doing a 130 minutes massage for only $100 is pretty cheap. Especially the ladies are so good at what they do, and they can actually massage the right pressure point, compare to a lot of the $20/hr foot massage place, where they are only apply pressure on the body, but doesn't hit the correct pressure point. I literally go to this place every month, because I think it is so worth it, and they open till 9pm, so it's a good "getaway" after work. read more

I think my massage therapist was Mia (I can't quite remember, this was a few months ago), she was very good. She asked how hard I wanted the massage and didn't talk to me. I appreciated that she respected the fact that I didn't want to talk and I even started to doze off during my massage, which is a good thing! I would definitely go back to her.
