Do not go here! I walked in on a whim to get a 70 minute massage. The massage was less than 60 minutes. The masseuse and the woman at the front desk even tried to argue with me. Don't waste your time or money. Would give it zero stars if I could. Edit: I should have done more research before coming here. Several 1 star reviews for the establishment. I have used their services before and some of the massages have been phenomenal. But my today's massuase was really bad. Massage was stressful rather than relaxing. Even after giving specific instructions about pain areas, preference of pressure she was not listening. When I asked for a change the front desk lady was rude, rather than acknowledging my experience was bad, she told me she cannot make any changes and she will not refund any money coz it's 15 mins past. This is terrible customer service. The room was cold, the massage was substandard. "Hot" towels were cold. Lights were not dimmed. Massage lady was just not listening to what I needed. First time and last for me here. To confirm, yes they do stand there and wait for their tip after the massage. Very uncomfortable, annoying, and unprofessional. (Learn from the Thai people) I go to many massage places and $10 is standard tip amount so many of the people leaving negative reviews about tips probably tipped less than $10. Nonetheless tipping is not mandatory by law and if this shop has such a issue with tipping and cheap customers, just charge more and pay your employees better. But they cannot charge more because of the quality of massage. Which leads me to the next topic. The massage was mediocre 平平 at best. Basically paid $70 to be lathered in oil, the masseuse felt my knots but nonchalantly ignored ALL of them. If you just want to be lathered in oil and feel soothed and relaxed then this place is for you, but if you have real issues with muscle and tendons that need to worked on this is not the place. The lady that gave me the massage looked old enough to have experience to know those were knots, not once did she apply and real pressure or strength not because she didn't have any strength but maybe just tired or lazy. I told the lady at front desk I wanted deep tissue, she seems to have ignored that and didn't relay that to the masseuse. I then told the masseuse I wanted strong pressure and it was light pressure. I have been going to Elegance Spa for a year now. I have tried three different masseuses and all were great! My favorite who I always request now is Linda because she is the best at deep tissue massage for when you are really trying to resolve a tight muscle. First off, I was looking for a good massage spa I could visit on a regular basis to help with the tension in my body and migraines. But this place was NOT it. The main thing that got me upset is they basically forced me to tip the masseuse $10. The cashier/manager refused to break my $20 bill so I could tip $5 (which I felt was fair for a 30 min head & shoulder massage). Another thing, which is major, is the masseuse hurt my shoulder. It was a deep pinch pain in my shoulder. She said it was a burning sensation, which it was not! A week later and the pain is still there. These people are not professionals. Avoid them. Ok update. I've come here twice more and I'm entirely unpleased. The second time I came I got a different woman and she was nowhere near as good as Sophie. In fact I asked her to do deep tissue or Thai massage, both of which I requested when I called the front desk and they said "no problem." However when I arrived, the masseuse got very nervous and hesitant when I asked her if she did deep tissue or Thai massage. Then she disappeared for what seemed like 5 to 10 minutes before she came back and proceeded to give me a massage without giving me an answer as to whether she could do deep tissue or Thai massage. when she proceeded to give me the massage, it was evident that she did not have this training. Instead she proceeded to give me a Swedish-type massage and attempted to apply as much pressure as she could only leaving me bruised instead of healed. This is the third time I have come back thinking that perhaps I should request Sophie again. Again when I called they said no problem. However when I arrived there was no Sophie, and the person who proceeded to do my massage utilized some Thai methods but it was evident that she has no idea about the body. The technique was OK, but she kept missing my points tension throughout the massage. She also continually left my massage to gather warm towels, but took way too long to do so, making me wonder if I was getting the full 100 minutes that I was paying for. Throughout the massage I continually asked her to apply more pressure, as much pressure as possible, to no avail. Also, due to the language barrier I could tell that even though I had very specific feedback she wasn't understanding what I was saying. To top it off, as I was leaving I decided I was not going to leave a tip because she didn't do anything that I asked and this third time around I was feeling duped. However the lady at the front desk insisted that I leave a tip and when I specified the amount, which was still about 15%, I could tell from her tone of voice speaking to the masseuse that both of them were not pleased with the amount and were very likely speaking ill of me. I won't return. Even though I'm still in search of an authentic Thai massage like the sort I am accustomed to finding so easily when I lived in LA, I think I'll just go to Massage Envy where at least I know they speak English and will accommodate my requests without fail. read more

Pros: 1. Very deep tissue. The masseurs are very professional. Yes, true that they don't speak English that well but they do listen to your every needs. Just point to affected and speak slowly. Don't be rude and yell and rambling. I feel we all can communicate, tell them how hard and I did request from them how hard I want and they always please me. 2. Service are beyond my expectations and I always tip $20 MINIMUM not like $10 or less of those cheap skates (please read my "Cons" section below). Do not mistake massage for hair styling! Totally different! One require minimum effort, the other requires a work-out! Compensate them fairly! 3. Clean, great smoothing music, plenty of clean towels for your shower. Cons: 1. True, it is a bit pricey compare to cheap ass ghetto places that smell like drug joints. If you're such cheap skates then go to those places. Milpitas is a nice area that requires high rent for these establishments so there you go. Complain to your city managers to lower rents. 2. I would say best to book ahead. I always book Jennifer and she is the best and so is Cinna but she can be quite busy with booking calls. I'm not sure why the owner don't hire additional receptionist ??? I enjoyed this spot. Yeah the english was broken but I felt that they did their job to the T. Also i felt that they were somewhat professional. I wouldn't call this a spa because they don't offer services outside of massages, however their massage was pretty good. The only down fall i feel is that they asked for tip. I understand that the tip probably puts food on their table so i think there could be a better way of asking for one. Maybe at the end of the massage they have something to give to the guest to fill out. In that survey, they could include, "would you provide a tip.. if so or not how much and why type of thing.... Like the other previous comment, the masseuse did not want to wait to get tip, even the customer was undressed!! I was resting after the massage had finished. Less than 2 min, the masseuse came back with a cup of water. I appreciated for her kind gesture, however, she stayed in the room then, even though she knew I was covered with a towels ONLY. I needed to specifically ask her to leave. I quickly got dressed and 2 minutes later, she came back in AGAIN to 'check on' me. She was pretending to fold the towels and keeping an eye on me. I handed the tip to her, she put it right into her pocket once she found out that's an acceptable amount for her(I tipped almost 25%, I feel silly). The masseuse made me feel like they wanted me out once they got the tips. The whole post massage experience was unpleasant. Professional, clean and well trained. I like the fact that they ask you to shower first so youre clean before they touch your body. If I was a masseuse I wouldn't want to touch a stinky sweaty body. The masseuses prefer you undressed but you can wear you underwear if you want, but you won't get the best massage that way. Place is relaxing and the staff is nice. They have different styles of massages including sports. I usually come by after a hard workout or a long hiking weekend. I feel like I can work out some more after all my muscles are loose. I think this place is decent and has very affordable massages. My husband booked this place as a birthday treat but non-rmt (registered massage therapist) are not for me. I am very used to the rmt protocole. When I got in the room the bed did not have a cover sheet, only 1 sheet to cover the bed, the massage therapist tried to speak to me in mandarin when I told her I only spoke cantonese (and laughed when I didn't respond), and even though the room is private, she was not always covering me up when working which made me feel exposed and also cold. If you are familiar with the RMT protocol, you are always covered. In short, this is one discount massage spa among others and I think it is decent and clean. If you just want a good deal on a decent massage then go, by all means this will do the job. But if you are like me and you are used to registered massage therapist and their professional protocols, this will not be for you. read more

I've been here about six or seven times already, and with the exception of one of the visits, it's been a great experience every time. I usually get the 70 minute massage for $50. Oh heads up, they charge you before your massage, so you either can bring cash tip, or charge it to your card after your massage. You have the option of taking a shower before your massage at the place; they have two nice, clean showers with plenty of towels. The massage room is pretty standard, clean, and well-kept. It's very quiet, but they do play a little background music which I appreciate. For the one time I went and did not have a good massage, it was because another customer was being super demanding and disruptive. Because of scheduling issues, my masseuse had to keep coming in and out to diffuse the situation. Things happen...but at that time I wished my masseuse wasn't also working the front desk.
