Called at 2 to book an appointment and told the lady who answered the phone I was free to come in whenever for a manicure and she tells me to come in at 5. I show up 15 min early and tell her I called for a manicure and she looked at me like I was an idiot and told me I never did. I have been coming here for years. I came back first because I got a standard manicure pedicure with regular nail polish and it didn't chip and it lasted!!! For a bartender that washes glassware in hot and cold water and is constantly washing their hands, that was huge! And then when I came back over the years they have always been so nice to me. I was lured in by the proximity and the Yelp deal--$25 gel mani for first-timers. I gravitated towards the new chrome colors and then I was informed they take more time so wouldn't come under the deal. "$35 for chrome," said Christine, "It's $50 down the street." Okay. She also talked me into a pedi for $19. I wavered and finally caved. So they got to work. The chrome is a few more layers than a regular gel, more chances to get it wrong. The results:' a lumpy and in some spots rough finish with a lot of mess around my cuticles and glitter dust--which was washed away somewhat. I brought the lumpiness to her attention. No mirror finish here. She called over Annie and Emily (they also work there) who inspected, but stayed silent. I was the last client of the day. She "fixed" two of the rough spots which really meant sanding down the spot and then reapplying 3 more coats of chrome and clear so it looked lumpy still. And one of my pinkies they was redone is still sticky. Really? Before I had agreed to the pedi--remember I had come in for a gel mani only--said she had those throw away flip-flops. As my toes neared their drying cycle she said I'd be fine with a little oil. ?!?Everyone knows that it takes a good 2 hours for regular nail lacquer to cure. I came in with hard, close-toed leather loafers. I said, 'I just saw you with some yellow flip-flops, I am going to need something.' The other worker said they gave the last pair to a previous client who had left as I was sitting down. Really? Christine, who seemed to be the head tech on duty that day who did my gel mani, kept repeating that she was giving me a deal. Their regular pedi's are $30. Many salons discount their services on slow days, like the Tuesday I received my services. Plus, I would never pay a discounted rate for shoddy service...oh... but I did. After I expressed that my toes definitely are not dry, she said if they got messed up, I could come back. We just talked about my being out of town and here on business. Consistently inconsistent. I won't be going back here to say the least for a few reasons: 1. They gaslight you 2. When they do a bad job they don't correct it 3. And they don't do a good job in the first place The woman who did my toes was the only, partial saving grace to this waste of time and money. Pay the $50 for the chrome gel down the street. read more

She will spend her time on you and make sure you're completely satisfied even if it means her staying after closing time. Her prices are ridiculously cheap considering her salon is in Newport Beach. I went in today to get gel manicure with designs and gel pedicure. I came in at 530 and I didn't realize she closes at 6pm. She didn't even try to turn me away. She took her time on me and made sure the length and design was right. She didn't get done with me until 730pm! No-frills nail salon, in a prime location on the peninsula. I called to make a last minute appointment on a Sunday for an acrylic fill and pedicure, and they had plenty of availability. The salon is relatively small, with 6 pedicure spas and 2 manicure stations. The interior is dated, but clean. I was seated at one of the spas, and one manicurist began my pedicure while another did my manicure. The ladies working were very sweet and personable, and put me at ease. There were only two pedicure options, the least expensive being $32 and the other over $50. I understand that Newport Beach rent isn't cheap, but I've never seen a basic pedicure that expensive at a hood spot before. The service was okay. It included a scrub, 5 minute massage, and weird tingly masque, but was nothing special. The manicurist who did my nails managed my desired shape, which isn't easy to do, and filled my nails back to perfection. Her work was slightly rushed, and she filed too close to my cuticles, leaving a few of them sore and raw. The end result of my nails and toes look good, so I still give 4 stars. However, I ended up paying $60 for a fill and pedicure (plus tip). I may come back here in a pinch, but this will not be my first choice for a nail salon in the area. read more

I wanted to like this salon. The ladies working were as nice as can be and the salon was clean. I got a dip manicure and regular pedicure. I paid $60 for both, which seemed a little pricey. My sister in law sitting next to me received an amazing massage with hers and I didn't get any kind of massage. I am a week in a half in and my nails are chipped all along the tips. I do dip on a normal basis (at a different salon) and it typically last at the very least 3 weeks with no chips. My nail shape looked pointed (not oval like I had asked), the white tips were HUGE, and the nails were not even lengths.
