From the young lady who always greets me so warmly at the front desk to the lady who I believe is the manager, who took care of my pedicure today -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and genuinely makes you feel at home. They offer you beverages, the salon is always clean, the music is relaxing, and the overall atmosphere is just peaceful and inviting. It's more than just getting your nails done -- they make you feel comfortable and appreciated from the moment you walk in until you leave. I absolutely love this place! Unfortunately, two weeks after my refill, I've noticed a green spot under the acrylic. The refill experience was not as good as the initial set that was done. (The electric grinder thing kept skipping and hitting my finger which was blamed on me). After the first day, looking at the cuticles, it did not seem like the nails were completely sealed off. If that makes sense. Like there was acrylic overhang onto the skin and the underside of my nails did not get ground down like I'm used to. read more

UPDATE: the owner called and said he can do a me FAVOR and get a professional to fix my nails for free. 1. Favor? I paid, so getting it fixed is not a favor. 2. If you have professionals why did I get 2 nonprofessionals??? And why would I want to waste another 2 hours of my time on your establishment? My response was I prefer a partial refund, I said I can come in, you remove this builder gel mess and give me a refund for my nails. He said they don't do refunds, but more importantly this man was arguing with me, not letting me speak. Completely rude, I'm definitely not going back to this establishment because I do not trust them. Also he had the audacity to say that I hurt his business by giving a 1star review. No you hurt your business by having unprofessional employees and being unprofessional yourself. I don't think these girls are professionals. My hands and feet look horrible. I told both girls to fix the issues and these pictures include the final results. Both girls had excuses. 1 my toe is too short, she was scared to file it. Okay? Can you at least trim it to make it even? What about the nail polish looking crazy? Is that also because my toe is short? We popped in here when our usual spot was closed. Walk-in availability, although it did get more crowded as we were there which is a good sign. Seems like lots of loyal customers! I've been a loyal client for years. This nail salon has been through a few owners and I've stuck around. However, I went in yesterday for a full set and a pedicure. Pedicure was great. My nails however aren't even close to how they normally come out. The owner did my nails this last time, so I thought they were going to be top notch. Boy was I wrong. I came out paying $148 dollars total. 65 for my nails and the rest was for my pedicure. She charged me 5$ for the almond shape. My nails came out more of an oval shape and they're all wonky looking. I was not happy and I'm sure my face said it all. The audacity of her to even ask me if everything came out ok. You're the owner, you should know the quality of work you just did was not acceptable. Genuinely the worst pedicure I've ever received. I ordered the deluxe pedicure with gel. This place is called pure lux nail salon and there's nothing lux about it. The woman doing my pedicure didn't even touch my heels during the scrubbing portion and only did it for like one minute each foot. Visited with my sister. I was in need of a Mani-Pedi. We were promptly taken to a chair. Two ladies worked at the same time, which was nice. Definitely made the process shorter. Complimentary beverages are provided, from sodas to wine, and mimosa's. This was really nice on a Sunday afternoon. Mindy made sure our services were going well. The salon is soothing and clean. The price point isn't bad either. I liked that it wasn't overcrowded. I was able to relax. There's a wall of polishes to choose from, and also several retail items. At first I loved this salon!! However, I haven't had the best service the past couple of times I've been. The most recent time, I was asking for a removal of builder gel and a simple paint with regular polish. The color I picked was thick and stringy and I wasn't able to change it. After painting my nails, they said they don't know how to do the shape I like and sent me out with every nail a different shape and not even. 30 minutes after I left, my nails peeled up and had fingernail marks because there was so much air under the paint and it was so thick. I've been here a few times now and overall I've been pretty pleased with their service. I used to be a regular in a different salon, however, since moving I needed to find a new place a little bit closer to home. Their prices are average for Houston, not the most expensive for sure, but there are definitely places that are less expensive. Atmosphere is nice, feels clean, and staff are friendly. I almost always get dip on my fingers and a regular pedicure, and I felt like they've provided good attention to detail with both of these services. My last visit I got one of the more expensive pedicures and I felt like I was definitely getting pampered. This time I got one of the more standard options and it was still good. Today I feel like maybe my dip was a little on the thin side (not sure if she did fewer coats or just filed down thinner) bc the areas near my cuticle were paler in color, however, I definitely prefer this to the alternative of thick and chunky dip on my fingers. I came here and got a pedicure. It was bad enough the lady I got had a bad attitude because I did not want to get the deluxe pedicure. Then I am met with this the following morning. I would not have posted this if it was just a simple allergic reaction, however after being to the doctor twice I have confirmed that this is due to a bacterial infection. No wonder they have lower prices than the competing salons, it comes with inexperienced technicians like the one I had! My technician was adamant about going after my cuticles and going so hard that they were bleeding and had cuts...and she continued to file and clip my nails and hurt me the entire time during my session. DONT COME HERE! I've been coming to this nail salon regularly for about 3 years now. The management has changed many times, but this most recent management has made me leave. I came for my routine full set & they told me it would be $90 for a basic set. No designs, no shape, medium-long length but a basic natural set. When I asked for an explanation of pricing they changed the pricing to $75. I asked what the additional $25 was for since I wasn't getting any design or shape & they couldn't explain and began making up additional costs. They then dropped the price again to $65. They said they now charge for a soak off in the service even if you're getting a new set, when last month I was told soak off was free with new set. Last month I had a nail lift 3 days after application. I came in for a repair and they glued my previous nail back down, causing a greenie on my finger. They have no consistency in pricing and are just looking for more money and ways to scam. read more

It was my first and last time coming here. I live down the street from this place and just needed my nails fixed ASAP so I gave it a try after I got recommendations from a couple people. Giving 2 stars because I like the way the nails came out, maybe one imperfection but nothing I can't overlook. What I can't overlook is the customer service I received from the nail tech. The man who greets you is very nice and the woman who did my eyebrows was also very nice and sweet. I went to get my coffin nails removed I got somewhere else and asked for almond shaped nails. Ivy, the woman who did my nails didn't even greet me she just grabbed my hand and asked rudely "what is this on your nails? Is it acrylic?" She had me dip my nails in acetone for a while and left me alone to be on her phone for several minutes. When she came back she rudely said "lord!" And was upset because my nails were still intact and kept smacking her teeth. The whole experience was awful. She looked like she didn't want to do my nails. She was very mean to me. I am the type of person who likes to make conversation with the mail tech's and she would give me nothing but rudeness. That's fine if you're not the talking type but at least be nice. But she was laughing it up with the man who greets you at the front and making huge conversation with him. I would ask questions about their services and she would just answer me shortly and rude and then continue to talk to the man. She didn't even offer a place to clean my hands with. She just sprayed my hands with water and cleaned them with the dirty towel, at least it looked dirty. Although she gave me DECENT looking nails, I'm not wowed by them either, it really is a shame how rude she is. For anyone who reads this, just go to Milano Nail Spa. It's pricier but worth it. They treat you like the princess you are and give you exactly what you want and even offer drinks and a place to wash your hands. read more
