I visited Elegant Nails & Tan recently to get a pedicure. The nail salon I usually go to is closed on Sundays and I decided to go here instead. When I walked in, I checked in at the front and then was led to pick a color. They have a pretty good selection of colors in regular, gel and SNS polish. The environment was nice and relaxing. The pedicure was nice and relaxing as well. I feel that my feet were smooth and looked great after. The pedicure was pretty affordable as well. I'll definitely be back again. read more

After going to some not so good nail salons in the area this was a positive surprise! I went with my friend and we both got pedicures. They were both done really well with the right amount of force on the scrubbing of the legs. They also use hot stones instead of hot towels which was very enjoyable. Both of our pedicures look great, mine a regular and hers a French tip. The part that makes this experience a 5 instead of a 4 for me was it was by far the best nail experience that I have had in this area and it was such a good price for the excellent service you receive. If I had one bad thing to say it would be that it took 15ish mins to get started of just sitting around but this wasn't a big issue more of something to look out for if you are on a time crunch. They started with my pedi which is normally done by someone else. When they are done, I'm told the tech I inquired about any available. They took no responsibility for the mistake. What's the point of calling and making a reservation if they're just going to ignore the fact that you have one when you get there? My experience here was truly just okay. I don't think I'll be going back, but it wasn't horrible. I went with two friends for pedicures and manicures, and my friends called earlier in the day to schedule an appointment for us in the mid-afternoon. We showed up for our appointment at 3:30, and it was incredibly busy. I could tell right away that we weren't going to be seated right away, but I hoped that it wouldn't be too long. After we had been sitting and waiting for about 25 mins, they called us over to remove our current manicures by soaking them in a bowl of acetone without filing or removing any of my previous manicure. I ended up sitting for about another 25 minutes with my nails soaking in pure acetone, which didn't feel the healthiest. Finally, around 4:25, they sat me in a chair and a nail tech came around 10 minutes later. My pedicure was once again okay, but I can still see some of the nail polish from my previous pedicure on my nails, since she didn't completely remove it when she started. The pedicure itself was fine-- nothing so mind-blowing that I'd recommend this place to my friends. My manicure was also okay, but the tech didn't pay any attention to my cuticles or nail care. My nails look good, not great. Finally, they thanked me for waiting so long as I was walking out of my appointment. I appreciate the recognition, but I feel that it would be good policy to either call before our appointment saying "We're running behind" or being up front and telling us that we'd have to wait once we arrived. At least then I could have gone to Target instead of sitting in the salon. read more

Location - Almost opposite to target. (Exactly opp. to Steak n-shake store on Lawndale), I walked in on a busy evening around 6.30pm and was taken in within 5 mins. Brendan was the one who worked on me and he was very friendly and professional. He made sure i was comfortable and did a great job. They do offer coffee and tea etc. and today there was a big church manicure/pedicure party. Great place - $35 for a great mani/ pedi. P.S- They accept credit cards over $12 read more

Absolutely horrible experience. The staff was incredibly rude. I asked to see the gel polish colors, and the man working insisted I picked out my toenail color first. I wanted to pick my nail color first to make sure that they had a matching non gel color, so that my hands and feet would be the same color (my hands were going to be seen more so it would be the deciding factor if the color wasn't also available in a non gel polish). They also had a man do my manicure at the same time as a woman was doing my pedicure. After my hands were buffed I wasn't even allowed to wash them before he started polishing. I also had a pillow on my lap that they sat the uv dryer on (used to dry gel polish) and it kept moving and messing up my nails because the woman was still working on my pedicure and moving my feet all around. Not to mention the device had to be plugged in and could have potentially fallen into the water with just the wrong move, and that is extremely dangerous. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. They were rude, unsanitary, and have no concern for the safety of their clients (they risk potentially electrocuting their clients. Instead of taking a few extra minutes to polish at a proper station). read more

Hey, just because in an old guy, doesn't mean I don't appreciate a well-run business. This one just happens to be a great mani-pedi spot. Because of back and hip issues I can't reach my feet to pedi myself (that's what I tell folks). As soon as I walk in I am met and welcomed and immediately seated on a luxurious heated massage couch. Offers of soda or water or whatever are made while my person (always a beautiful professional lady) makes sure I am comfy. The pedi is to die for. Soaking, hot towels, trimming, massaging, sea salt scrub, rinsing, more massaging, finishing with hot stone relaxation. Wow. This place consistently exceeds any expectations I may have had. Been going here for Atleast 10 years with my mom, once I started going by myself the owner seemed to always charge me more than normal. Usually pay $50 for a pedicure and full set. I usually make an appointment to request her, but tropically that isn't necessary as there's usually no wait. The salon isn't high end, but it's clean and we'll maintained. HORRIBLE service. Expired nail polish. For nail art, they used $1 acrylic paint--not something you should use for nail art--and charged $5 for a very small design. When putting on acrylic nails, they put on nails that were too big, so I was in pain for a couple days. During the service, the girl kept hurting me, I told her, and she continued to be rough. Every time I winced, she shook her head. The people working there are beyond rude and talk badly about the customers. I understand some Vietnamese, and the OWNER made a rude comment about me. The entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't recommend this salon for anyone. read more

I can't even believe I am the first to review this staple of Greensboro. I'm always amazed at how often I hear someone raving about their nail salon and then, yep, it's Elegant Nails. The staff is pretty consistent and so is the experience. This is not a fancy spa, but it's a tried and true place to get your mani-pedis (old school, gel and acrylic) and waxing (in private rooms). I guess they offer tanning as well, but I think they are down to one bed at this point and I rarely see anyone there for tanning. I do see men (manly men!) in there, by themselves, reading their magazine as they casually get their pedi. I'm still trying to convince my hubby of pedicure bliss, but so far, he won't go there. But, I digress. In any case, in Greensboro, Elegant Nails is a great option. You can schedule group events (bridal parties, pre-prom, etc), but you might want to call-ahead and it might be hard to guarantee service for more than a few at a time. This place gets super-duper busy, especially on the weekends. Oh, and two more tips, they don't run credit cards for less than $10 and prefer tips in cash. Happy mani-pedi everyone! read more

This place is open on Sundays which is a plus and I was seated relatively quickly. I did have to wait a bit while my feet were soaking but that was okay. My nail technician did not offer me anything to drink when she arrived. I selected the spa pedicure (a step up from the regular one at $35). The person beside me selected the same thing. Somehow though, my pedicure was finished at least 5 minutes before the person next to me. There was supposed to be a peppermint foot mask and hot towels with this selection. If I did receive the mask, it was put on so quickly and removed so quickly that I never noticed it. There were no hot towels. Immediately after she was finished, my technician disappeared. When I was ready to leave and went to checkout, I questioned whether I had received the spa pedicure. My technician reappeared at this point and insisted that that is what I received. I did not feel like arguing further and left. I will not be returning to this place. I'd recommend Marianne's Brows or the nearby Inspire salon over this place. I went to Elegant Nails after asking someone for a referral. I loved the experience while in the salon. I got one of their pedicures (the medium level one) and a full set of gel nails. Everyone was super nice, very friendly, and welcoming. I called ahead for an appointment, just to make sure that they'd be available when I arrived. My pedicure still looks great, but my nails started lifting majorly by the end of the first week. I just moved to Greensboro from Dallas, and have never had nails that lifted like this. I'm not sure what happened, but I was pretty disappointed. It's been just shy of two weeks since I was in the salon (time for a fill), and I'm going to have to get 4 out of 10 nails completely redone, because they've already come off. Got a manicure today with a friend. We tried this place since they were open till 6 on Sundays. We arrived a lil after 430. The staff seemed energized and happy even though I'm sure they already had a full day of work. I was taken right away and one nail tech started soaking my hands while another gave a incredible chair massage. She cut the dead cucitiles away and buffed my nails to a nice shine. Went to this nail salon for many many years and saw the owner. He seemed to be taking a number of trips to Florida and wasn't around when I needed to have my two week appointment. When I called to schedule an appointment with him I was told by Amy he wasn't there so I asked for another person that I knew there and I was told she was busy. In fact everyone that I asked for was busy and I was told the new girl to do you. I couldn't believe how rude Amy was.
