The last & final time I went to this nail salon, the lady who painted my nails did a horrible job. She must've spent just as much time painting them as she did cleaning them up. They ended up looking fine but only after much clean up, it was still painful to watch as I could've painted my nails myself and painted inside the lines. The nail salon is really cute, clean and modern and the prices are reasonable, if you stay away from paying an extra $10 for the flavored pedicures. My mani/pedi came out really well. I went to Elegant Touch for a gel manicure (my first ever) on Monday evening and two of my nails chipped by Friday. Not worth the money for the more expensive manicure. I was able to walk right in and sit down at 5:30pm. The salon itself was pretty spartan and a little worn inside, which doesn't bother me but maybe it will you. The nail tech (didn't catch her name) asked if I wanted my nails trimmed even with each other which I agreed to, but she didn't cut a single one at a straight angle. Maybe they'd have come out a little straighter if she had been looking at my nails and taking her time while she was cutting them instead of checking her phone and talking to her coworker. I was also disappointed that my polish color ended up being much lighter and more translucent than the sample, but maybe that is normal for gel manicures? I can't say. I was hoping for better based on the reviews here, but I won't be going back to Elegant Touch. read more

I've been there before and the work was quality, but the prices are so skewed. Today she tried to tell me a pedicure was 36. That is ten dollars higher than the menu. I never do the extra fancy pedicure options so there was no reason for an additional charge. read more

I have come to this salon for the last 5 years, brought friends and family, and have had excellent service everytime! My regular nail technician is Tracy because she specializes in Liquid Gel Nails but Jessie is just as helpful. They both pay attention to detail and make sure their customers feel welcome and are satisfied. In addition, if regular technician is unable to keep our appointment (which may have been 4 times only if that), she makes sure to notify me and make sure someone else is able to take care of me. All of the other staff are very polite and always greet you with a smile. Since I've been a customer, management has made sure to make regular improvements to the salon including cosmetically, adding new pedicure massage chairs at least twice since I've been here, new chairs, and new nail stations. The salon and bathroom are always very well kept and clean! I will forever be a customer. Thank you for service!!! read more

I've been coming to this salon for about half a year now and I truly love it! The staff always helps me out with my indecisive self and when I ask for a specific color- they always accommodate my needs and find what I feel looks best. They are very sweet and have always let me out with a smile!!! Definitely recommend making an appointment or coming at a non "rush hour" time if you can. They can get very busy. read more

I needed a mani/pedi quickly and came here based on Yelp reviews and the location is very close to home. I was very underwhelmed. The intro process was very standard, pick out colors, sit in chair. I must begin by saying this could have been a result of the technician I was given, and the rest may not be this way. The pedicure itself wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. After leaving I realized that she did a lackluster job of painting my toes!! I couldn't see it from the angle, but she didn't put the polish all the way to the cuticle edge of my toenail on my big toe so the finish was uneven. Manicure was ok, or so I thought until later that day when the skin around my cuticles began to peel and I realized she'd cut too deep. There was a point when she messed up a nail and re-did it, but after sitting under the dryer for a considerable amount of time, I smudged a nail on the way to the car, she repainted it but didn't bother putting on top coat, so it's "ashy" compared to the others. The quality of the polish is poor, they have OPI but it appears to be VERY watered down. I have plenty of bubbles in my toenails. On a positive note, she gave me a coupon for $3 off my next $35 purchase, but unless I am in a bind, I probably will not be going back. read more

I used to regularly visit Elegant Touch about four years ago. I went back last night and the salon is much smaller (which I didn't mind) and a lot less clean (this I mind). My nail tech was rude and for such high prices (even for Columbia) I expected better.I realize I came at the end of the work day, but as other women came in for services the tech would rudely tell them they did not have time. There are polite ways to do business and it was not what I experienced last night. The pedicure I had done seemed rush and at times was uncomfortable. I walked in without an appointment on a weekday around 4 pm. The staff was really friendly and I was seated pretty immediately with Helen. She was super meticulous and periodically checked in to make sure I was happy with her progress. Don't you hate it when the manicurist looks bored, and their eyes start to wander elsewhere BUT their actual work and you want to tell them to just please pay attention to what they're doing..?? Me too. But I had none of that with Helen, she was great and I want to recommend her to everyone! My only complaint is their sterilization is questionable. The technician is supposed to open a freshly sterilized set of tools in front of their customer. She took her tools out of an autoclave pouch, but it was obvious that it wasn't sealed and had been open prior to my nail sesh. I mean, it didn't bother me enough to get up and leave, just to take off a star. read more

As far as nail salons goes this place is ok. Pedi chairs were a bit worn out. The place was clean and their selection of pedi's was great. My tech, Paula, was very good. Even though we couldn't communicate the way I would have liked I knew she was making ever effort to do a good job. Never felt rushed which I have experienced at other nail salons. an attention to detail person. If you can stand the heat I strongly recommend the hot stone pedi and I have to tell you it was amazing. Since she did such a great job on my feet I decided to get a manicure as well. Horrible experience- nails done last Thursday polish coming off by Friday. Staff rude and talked about us in their own language & it was 4 of us getting our nails and pedicures Forunately one of understands their language. Pedicure chir broken and used cold water refused to change it or warm it up. Had to request be papered wrapped instruments from autoclave.Up charged for pedicure claimed they had no paraffin so used 1 stone and upcharged for it. They are the worst place in Columbia should gone to Pinkey's. Stay away from this place you might get Hepatitis B and be upcharged. No prices are posted anywhere you have to check the brochure. I am extremely picky with my nail tech and I finally found one who does it right! Service: Pink and white--just did a fill this time (only pink), it was $25. Will do both the pink and white next time. Just moved to the area and I dreaded trying to find someone who can do my nails thin and natural. Helen is the one to go to! She did my pink and white nails (looks like French but with the powder acrylic) She was very gentle and most importantly, made them nice and thin and they look super natural. I'm always worried about the quality of the materials which they use and whether they will last--it's been almost a month and they're perfect and haven't chipped. The salon is pretty old looking inside, very minimalistic, but I don't care as long as the nail tech does a good job and is provided quality materials. Glad I found it! But I can't speak for any of their other service. Don't forget cash for tip, they don't take credit card for gratuity. read more

I was referred to Elegant Touch by an acquaintance and I have gone there 3 times in the past 2 months. The first two visits were pretty good, but not so much last week. She missed the edges of the nail with the polish in several small places and she overcharged me. I wasn't paying attention when I signed the credit card receipt and later noticed I was overcharged by $10! To add insult to injury, I had also tipped her $10 in cash. Therefore, I ended up paying $45 for a fill!! Needless to say, I will not be going back. I would not recommend this salon, but if you go, make sure you confirm the price first and verify that's what they charge you before you sign the cc receipt or hand over your cash. read more

I went here based on the other reviews on Yelp. I found no reason to go back. I had a mani and a pedi and both were just OK. There was no upsell, she didn't offer me gel nail polish, in fact she didn't speak to me at all! My heels are still as rough as when I went in and judging by the speed she applied all of the polish I do not expect it to last long at all. I went in and asked for a manicure and they told me to come back I did a woman started me then one of her regular clients came in she asked me to get up. I thought I was being moved to another station but she put me w the rest of the people waiting as if she hadn't started me yet. These people are so rude and overpriced it's ridiculous! I had an appt with Dana last month to get a pedicure and manicure. During the pedicure I cried ouch more than five times.Dana was about as gentle on my feet as a Linebacker. When I got home, I realized I could not wear any closed shoes because my big toe was in such pain. It was later that night I realized she had really cut my toe deep cut it took ten days to heal. When I got my maniure she was really pushy I asked for a light pink but she insisted a french manicure was more professional and I should go with that. I decided to. Afterwards I regretted it. Also, she did not glue the tips on very well because you can see a seperation between the natural nails and the tips. To top it off I was quoted over the phone that it would be fifty dollars for both pedicure and manicure. She told me it would be sixty plus the price of the french. I think she is dishonest but mostly, she was very rough and abraisive and I will never go back there ever again. Linebackers shouldn't ever nails. read more
