I came back to "update" my review (literally giving it 5 stars AGAIN, but would totally give 6 if i could) because of my fabulous experience which made me think even more highly of this place. I came in for a spa manicure ($15) and it was AMAZING. PanPan was my manicurist and she was super chill, attentive, and did a perfect job. I am more on the picky side when it comes to manicures: I want aggressive cuticle removal and less clipping. I didn't even tell her this and she just got it perfectly. Almost a week later, my manicure is still perfect! The venue and tools are sparkling clean. It is staffed very well so whenever I go, there is never a long wait even without an appointment. They're always clean, have friendly staff, and pricing is fair for the high quality of service received. Give them your phone number and they rack up your visits (I think for a discount). For a fancy place like this and manicure / pedicure that costs $60 at least they should try and make it last for more than two days. I don't mind spending money on pampering myself but I really don't see the point of giving them money for a polish that wares off after 2 days. read more

Very clean place and the technicians are very meticulous, however their gel manicures barely last a week. Not sure why this is, if its the curing process or something but every gel manicure ive gotten here chips after a few days. My first time coming as I wanted to get rid of acrylic nails and find a place closer to home. While a little pricey (and they do not accept Amex) I will be back. They were extremely nice, beyond clean and very accommodating. I was a walk-in and they had a lot of clients but they were able to take me within 10 mins, figure out what I needed to soak and fix my broken nail and had the exact color I was looking for. After finding out there was no availability at my normal nail salon, I randomly came across Element Beauty Lounge - and I'm so happy I did! I was instantly able to get my manicure, and it was such a fun experience sitting at the "bar" and watching music videos while my technician was working on my nails. The manicure was so relaxing, and every employee I came in contact with was very friendly. They also have a large selection of colors! I think I may have to begin coming here regularly. (Just be aware, they DO only take tips in cash, so make sure to stop at an ATM!) read more

A beautiful place in Ditmas Park Brooklyn. Extremely elegant and peaceful. Rather pricey but oh so worth it when you want to treat yourself. Very clean and neat look. The chairs feel very comfortable with nice pillows. We were offered tea or citrus water to go with our pedicures. It felt really nice. The citrus water was delicious. The girls were super attentive and nice. They took our jackets to hang up and shoes. And tried to make us feel super comfortable. The selection of colors of nail polish was really big. Every single color on planet earth. The pedicure felt really nice and relaxing. They definitely know what they're doing. I also added on the 10 min foot massage which felt amazing. My feet have never felt this good. They also did the callous removal for my friend and he said his feet felt softer than ever. After the pedicure we were led to the drying station which comes with an iPad for entertainment while your nails dry. They also complete the experience with a neck and shoulder massage. It felt absolutely amazing. Again, it's rather pricey but every once in a while when I want to treat myself this will definitely be the place. read more

Customers beware--I went there for the first time this evening and my credit card information got stolen. When they swiped my card they used one scanner where my card was in for a long time, and finally they said it wasn't working and then they used another one. I think the first one they used was skimming my info. My credit card company notified me and they are investigating this place-- the Cortelyou location. I try to support our neighborhood businesses, but I just can't get down with this place. I live close to here and have tried many times, but for the high prices they always disappoint and their management team sucks. The pedicure chairs are extremely uncomfortable. The pedicures are subpar, my feet always feel rough. The chair massages are average at best and the manicures last 1-2 days at most. Most of the manicurists are not great and nails are crooked. On my last visit I was trying to get a mani pedi package and after my pedi the manicure chairs were full because the management was having a business meeting with 3 ugly hulking men and they did not think to clear the chairs and have their meeting in an actual office. Instead they left me standing and asked me to wait for my manicure until they were done with their meeting. How unprofessional is that? Come on people, how about paying customers? I was only using this place in emergencies, but I think I've had my last straw and won't be back. Here's to hoping Cortelyou businesses get better as the neighborhood evolves!!! read more

After lunching on Cortelyou, our group stopped by on a Sunday. I wasn't planning on having anything done at first. I'm not really a mani/pedi type, but sitting there looking at my hands, I decided to give them a shot. My fingers are cracking terribly, tips of 5 of fingers, and some nasty, painful splitting cuticles.. The combination of the cold weather, and wearing leather work gloves, I believe sucks the moisture out of my skin, I needed some relief. The coconut milk soak with hot wax manicure, sans polish ($45) sounded like it would help, so let the tech work her magic. And she did!! Took her time, revived my hands thoroughly.. Nails, cutes, trim away all the dead split stuff, sanded my callouses.. Then soak, hot wax, and gently roasted in heated mitten like devices. She finished up with hand and arm massages, along with working some lemongrass type ointment into my hands.. My hands looked their best in a long time, but the FEELING of no throbbing finger pain as before, and pain free stretching of my hands, absolutely wonderful!! Highly recommended!! The rest of the troupe tried the 30 minute massages, and said they felt incredible afterwards, so keep Element in mind for not just nails.. read more

Very nice service received as a first time customer. However as far as pricing is concerned I was not too pleased. The booklets with pricing and services mentions "15% off mani and pedi combo from Monday through Wednesday". After I left the salon I realized that I didn't receive the discount. I called about the matter and I was informed that because there were price changes the discount was not applied. The annoying part is they tell you the wait will be 5 minutes and then they leave you there for an hour...and every time I ask how much longer they say "just one more minute." My friend and I had an awesome spa day here (courtesy of my awesome husband)! It took us forever to decide what we wanted but we both eventually settled on the element pedicure and citrus manicure. They have a great polish selection, an abundance of colors and brands. I also booked a 60 minute hot stone Swedish massage while my friend chose a 30 minute chair massage. The massages were great & we loved our nails! So much so that we were still raving about our manis & pedis a week later! I respect locations that provide feedback about your nails. This wasn't your typical nail salon! I came in requesting a gel manicure and after general feedback about the health of my nails, I left with a basic manicure. The staff was extremely respectful and best of all I left with a better understanding on why my nails have been so weak. Few salons value health over a profit. This place just opened recently in the neighborhood. It is really a treat! The staff (I have had several of them by now) are all very courteous and thorough. The vibe is several steps above just about any nail place I have been to in Brooklyn. They take their time and I feel pampered instead of like I'm on some sort of nail assembly line. Very detail-oriented eyebrow shaping, for example, instead of the fast rip-and-pluck treatment I am used to getting elsewhere. The place is very clean and upscale, also showing the attention to detail of the owners. Nice touches like citrus water, iPads at the drying stations and music instead of Fox News (yes, the last place I went to had Fox News on). HIghly recommended!!! read more
