Disclaimer: I'm not a resident but rather this is just my review of initial impression. I took a self-guided tour on Wednesday. Great location and amenities however the interior of individual unit is rather outdated, some broken things within. I wanted to proceed with application. Nate helped me and he was very friendly and personable. However in the days to come it seemed impossible to get ahold of anyone or if you did, they promise to get back to you and never do. Concerned about the lack of urgency when it comes to new resident potential, but it could also be them doing damage control with the murders and stabbings in the complex over the weekend. If anyone is concerned about move-out charges, here's mine from 2 years ago. Carpet Cleaning 65.00 Cleaning Charges 85.00 Paint Charges 70.00 Total additional charges / credits / payments 220.00 We cleaned the carpet really well and never put any nail on the wall. I could complain that there shouldn't be any paint or cleaning charges, but I think it's ok since Elements is pretty "luxurious" and you get what you paid for. I always get my deposit back in full in these past years, but I do think for a place like Elements you shouldn't expect that. Consider it's pretty nice when you move-in, they need to charge you to keep it the same kind of condition for someone else as well. I don't know about the carpet situation, but our carpet was brand new since the previous tenant apparently messed up the carpet and they had to replace the carpet completely. Anyways, it's not true that if you live less than 2 years they'll charge you $400 for paint. It actually depends. If you want your room to look nice and hung something on the wall, then you have to pay for it later. read more

The staff is amazing so this review isn't about them. I moved in, in January 2020. I received a 12 month renewal notice effective 6/28/22 for 49% higher than the one I signed in 2020. I've lived many places across numerous states and have NEVER come across an increase even remotely close to this. Needless to say, I will not be renewing. read more

Full Disclosure: I don't live here but was with my daughter when she selected the apartment and stayed for a week to help her get settled. In my opinion the building location is incredible and in close proximity to everything you might need including public transportation. The concierge team is extremely nice and very helpful. The hours of operation isn't 24 hours (and I don't think that is necessary) but seven days a week with more than sufficient hours of operation. There were two things that needed to be serviced in the apartment and the maintenance team was extremely responsive, very nice and handled the issues right away. The building amenities are first rate and you don't have to pay to reserve areas like the media room which we used one evening. Having a perk like the incredible coffee machine is a definite treat and it was good to see how residents use it even coming downstairs with their mugs to get coffee! While I'm very high on the building it was a bit disappointing to be told that the boxes that had been sent would be placed into the apartment before our arrival. That wasn't the case and to make matters worse when we arrived the large cart wasn't available. The next morning it still hadn't been returned and we ended up just carrying all of the boxes upstairs on our own. I'd suggest they secure a few more carts especially to aid when folks are moving in. Another suggestion is to place some sort of deodorizer in the rubbish rooms. On my daughter's floor it was clean but it seems a deodorizer would help with the smell a bit. Lastly, I wonder if it would be helpful to have if not an orientation for new residents, a building guide that advises on things like are there discounts for the businesses in the bldg? When maintenance fixes something in the apartment do you provide a tip? What is the recommendation for holiday tipping? We also took advantage of a great building feature which is their guest suite which is a two bedroom apartment. The cost is much cheaper than any hotel and quite comfortable. My suggestion here is they provide more towels. There was just one set per bathroom which wasn't enough. The snacks and beverages in the fridge was a nice surprise and greatly appreciated. We are very pleased with Elements and so happy our daughter is a resident. We left feeling she was in a secure location with good people. read more

This is hands down the worst place I have lived in my life. Since the day we moved in things have been going wrong. It takes multiple requests and months to get anything fixed around here. DO NOT LIVE HERE. When we first moved in one of the windows in our unit was cracked. It took 3 repair requests and 2 months for it to get fixed. Since I've lived here (about 8 months) the elevators in the 989 building have gone out numerous times. One of the two elevators will break down leaving ONE elevator for all 27 floors to use. That means you will be waiting at least 10 minute to get in the elevator during the day. If you have a dog to let out you must plan 20-30 minutes to get downstairs let your dog out and get back up the elevator. Usually this lasts for a couple days although recently one of the elevators was down for almost 3 weeks. It gets extremely frustrating and all management does is send out a weekly email saying they're sorry. Now for the worst part and what pushed me to finally write this review. Yesterday (4th of July) the key fabs stopped working. Meaning you couldn't get in the building unless someone came out and you could not get up the elevators. Conveniently, the office was closed due to the holiday. When my fiancé called the number listed for "emergency maintenance" he was repeatedly told that it should work and to keep trying. After 20 minutes on the phone someone finally came down to the apartments to check it out although he maintained that we were doing it wrong. If that's the case then so we're the other 10 people waiting in the lobby trying to get up. Finally they disengaged the key fab system and you could just push the button to get up. Fast forward to today. After coming home from Costco I tried to get up the elevator. Surprise it doesn't work again. Key fab or no key fab you can't get up past floor 16. I am on the 23 floor. After calling the front desk and telling them they said someone was working on it but they didn't know when it would be fixed. Myself and another gentleman explained that we needed to go to work and their response was pretty much tough shit. (In different words) so after carrying everything from costco up seven flights of stairs (doesn't sound like much but if you've been to Costco you know what that entails) I am writing this review. Bottom line this place does not give a crap about anyone that lives here. I can not wait to move out of this place. If they didn't charge a ton to break a lease I would move out tomorrow. Listen to the reviews on here about broken elevators and crappy management. I wish I had listened before moving in here. read more

I'd give negative stars if that were possible. I had a physical emergency after hours one day - my stepson called 911 and responders called after hours management to meet them at the emergency elevator because they didn't know where to go. EMTs were there within 2 minutes and couldn't find management. Management held them up for about 10 minutes, which almost cost me my life. They will not take responsibility for this at all. I know of another tenant who was unconscious on her apartment floor. The out of state family called and asked management to do a wellness check. They found her face down and told the family she's just sleeping. The family had to insist they go back and call 911. If you have any emergency in this building, it's a crapshoot whether you'll survive or not. read more

This review is for one of the maintenance experience I had while living here. My kitchen drain had a surge of back flow from the main pipe on Thanksgiving. I was so glad that there was a maintenance staff on duty (Wesley was his name) and was able to make it here in under 30 minutes. He was able to take care of the problem with great attitude. I'm not a big fan of having my kitchen flooded, but having someone on duty on Thanksgiving and getting called in with a great attitude is rare in any service. Complained about traffic noise in my apartment. Seriously, make sure this is ok with you before renting here and beware of the apartments facing the freeway! Their attitude was "sucks to be you." Capacity problems in the underground parking, even though they make you pay extra for it. When I moved out they tried to charge me for painting, even though this wasn't in the lease agreement and they had no evidence of damage. Just trying to fleece me for every last dollar. When I complained they did reverse the fee, but the fact that they tried this non-sense in the first place just goes to show how dishonest and money-grubbing these people are. read more

Most of the reviews you read about apartment complexes are binary signals which make it impossible to paint a reasonable picture. I will try to break from that pattern and give my best take on Elements. Let's start with the good. Concierge desk used to be great. James, who doesn't seem to work there was the best concierge I have ever met. He embodied everything you would expect from a concierge. Dear management, he is the reason you didn't get 1 star review. Sonaly was also excellent and stayed there until the very end. Gym in the 989 building is superb. However, if you invest in bumper plates, you might want to make sure no one under the gym would mind dropping them. Yes, bumper plates, as the name suggests, are literally built to be dropped. Buying such equipment and then bashing residents for "breaking gym etiquette" is like having a shooting range and loaded guns in the resident's lobby and expecting that nobody would fire a weapon. Now, let's move on to the bad. Every time new concierge was hired, he or she was worse than the previous. Move to use lockers instead of having concierge keep the packages was a debacle. Last generation of concierges, with few exceptions, were just rude and incompetent. When I stated that because of all of my frustrations, I won't renew the lease, lady working as concierge simply stated "That is okay". What that person clearly lost is that, when I pay preposterous amounts of money for a sub-par living experience, I can lose my temper and get emotional. However, your job is not to let that affect you and help me. Garage gate was notoriously broken. Burglary in the garage was on the rise - my car was robbed twice. Despite that, Elements management is yet to invest in reasonable monitoring system. Combine that with elevators being constantly either broken or just letting everyone in to the building I simply did not feel safe in my own home. Calling box has never, ever worked for anyone that I know of. Not a day went by when I didn't see confused guests on 1st floor / P2 trying to get in. Elements is a building with some great people and plenty of potential. There are folks in the management, leasing office and concierge who helped me a lot on many occasions. You do however have way too many bad apples that rot the pie to the point that the price you are asking for does not justify living there. Get rid of those bad apples and you can make Elements great again. read more

Maintenance staff is horrible here. When it rains, water leaks into my ceiling, which created mold. I called maintenance and instead of fixing the leak, they patched up the hole - this caused water to pool and create more mold. My bike (which was a significant investment) was stolen from the garage bike rack. After reporting it, they said they didn't have video of it. I looked to see how it could be stolen being locked with u-bolt lock and realized there was a security problem with the bike racks that can be easily fixed. I let them know about this - it has been several years and the problem still exists. Maintenance was changing locks and I wasn't out of my apartment during that time, I asked to delay, they weren't happy. I got home my internet wasnt working. After ISP came out, just my apartment's internet was disconnected for some reason. Update: as before they only fixed the symptoms by patching up the ceiling and not the source of the leak, which will cause even bigger problems. Also, they are intentionally staying quiet about the ill intent of their maintenance staff for disabling the internet which was a recent event, even after I brought it up before. I do not recommend living here. read more

I just moved here from Nashville. My move was seamless everyone was very responsive to any question no matter how big or small I have. Not only is the building beautiful and the amenities amazing but the staff is so attentive that it trickles down to the residence. From the portal where residents get to share ideas, opinions, events, and even sell their belongings to The various ways that the Elements engages it's community. If you are moving to the Seattle area and are not a fan of heavy traffic then I would strongly urge you to move to Bellevue and into this amazing Building! read more

I've lived here for almost 6 months and my experience couldn't be any better. It is close to a lot of restaurants, grocery stores, all of which are pretty much within walking distance. It's also a great place to be if you work at Microsoft as there is a shuttle stop literally two minutes away from the building. Also, staff here is great. I'd like to give shoutouts to Catherine and Arnold who are both really hardworking and really responsive to the residents' requests. They also take care of accepting any kind of packages so you never have to worry about your package being lost, which is amazing. read more

I've lived in 3 different units over 4 years here and it really is a great living experience. Understand that living here is living in a city. If you can't handle loud ass cars flying up the street at 2am, garbage trucks collecting stuff at 5am, sirens and shit at all hours, freeway noise passively humming, etc., then do NOT live downtown. If you don't want inflated prices for water and power, then don't live downtown. Don't want to pay for parking? Don't live downtown. To mark down this community for any of the above is ridiculous because it is true of every single tower in Bellevue. EVERY - SINGLE - ONE. Past that, price per square foot is better than any of the towers in Bellevue (save maybe Soma, but it's really close, and the layouts are way better at Elements). There's a layout for just about anyone here too. Amenities are awesome - 24hr indoor pool, 2 cinemas, the best weight lifters gym in Bellevue (seriously, as a power lifter, I really mean it! Check out Fire Fitness). The list goes on. If I had to give one criticism that is possibly unique to this building, it'd be that pets are allowed and walls are pretty thin. That said, the leasing agents can give you a heads up on if your potential neighbor has pets, etc. and if your bedroom touches a living room or bedroom, etc. Just pay attention :) For quiet people, I'd highly recommend the 909 and 958 buildings over 989 just based on the residents I've encountered. If you're less concerned with noise and want an awesome place to entertain people, 989 is the better building. Also, huge thanks to Mike for taking me through dozens of units over a month or two (and this was pro bono, I already live here so he just took hours out to be cool). Management is great too (Erin, the community manager, is the most willing to help community manager I've ever worked with anywhere I've lived.) Mario is the asst. and he's freaking rad. Love Sonaly, the lead concierge too! Repairs in the unit typically happen same or next day for me (I waited 3 days one time only). Parking is actually really good too, and this building has the most generous guest parking terms of any building in Bellevue (2 days/wk, one 5 day pass/month). Definitely move in! This review is about the Elements Too midrise and more importantly the management. The units are clean and new, the kitchens are very very nice (this is what sold us the place), we have a fairly nice view but be warned that the highway is very noisy especially at night (i.e. police/ambulance sirens). You won't hear much from the neighbors, and again there were not many since this place is new. There is an indoor pool which is a big plus, even though most people won't use it. The other common areas are nice to have (gym, movie room and the lounge). There will be many many people using the elevators, you will see many many puke and other stains in the elevator carpets. If you are lucky you will only witness the stains and residual smells after they clean it up. The units have "Air Conditioner" for hot summer days but the A/C unit is not strong enough to cool the apartment when the sun is rising. The unit will hit over 80 degrees until noon with no windows to open. I guess that's a good thing since who wants to sleep late in a saturday morning right! Also the ventilation is not well made and the bedroom does not get any air, you will need to buy an external ventilator and keep your bedroom door open at all times to be able to breathe. The management is disappointing to say the least. This place is an expensive place and you accept it once you want to live in downtown. The problem is the charges you will see won't be told to you honestly. If you are a person that do not check the reason of the monthly charges you can end up paying for the free parking or the percent discount you have been "given". It has been a stressful year keeping track of their pumped up charges and unreasonable fees. To give an example they charged residents for over $150 for water at some point and a lot of people complained this time, so they had to "fix" their mistake. Your utilities will be charged per person and if you have a guest that will stay for a few weeks, you will need to ask permission and pay extra utilities as well. Not cool if you have parents visiting overseas. If not because of the sweet lady in leasing office we would not have moved here and now we are moving out anyways. read more

"Luxury apartments?!?!"... ok, lets talk about luxury... it's definitely not the linoleum flooring, electric stoves, track lighting, caulk job in my bathroom that looks like a blind man did it, nor the shag carpet in my living room that had magical, hidden stains that slowly appear after a week of moving in... the only thing "luxury" about this place is the dollar amount that's due on the first of the month... Now I must admit, the appearances and decor are nice on the exterior and retail areas... but the fixtures, appliances, and interiors of the apartments are complete crap) - they want to charge me a little over $4600 to stay here month to month in a 700 sq ft 2/2... great deal huh? Elevators ALWAYS have issues and go out of order - I literally just had to climb 20 flights of stairs to get to my apt (main reason why I'm writing this). Speaking of elevators, sometimes you'll be greeted by a nice, steamy pile of feces or puke in one as well Ignorant tenants always leaving trash everywhere (parking garage, vestibules, etc) Hot water heaters always problematic Air conditioning malfunctions consistently as well Parking situation sucks (pay $75 a month for a compact spot in a community of DWA drivers OR pay $125 a month for your reserved spot which someone may 'gank' once in awhile. Also, consider yourself lucky to make it through one lease term with less than 3 door dings If you don't live in the short, triangle building, they charge an extra 20 bucks a month to use the one pool on the premises... great policy The gyms are always over-crowded with personal trainers, knuckle draggers, and housewives that don't even live here No easy access for recycling/compostables I relocated from the 909 building to the 989 building (to upgrade supposedly), paid money to have the apt professionally cleaned and in better condition than it was in before I occupied it... they kept my ENTIRE security deposit of $500 and even charged me a $175 paint fee - I hung up 2 frames using 2 nails. I could go on and on but if I save at least one person from making the mistake of living here, than I'm more than pleased... Have doubts about my review being honest?... Been happily living here for over 1.5 years now. I personally get a lot out of the amenities that Elements has to offer, so for me this place is great. The entire office and front desk team has been fantastic to work with. I have had issues with items and upon talking to them like fellow human beings, which I have witnessed others not do, they have been accommodating and helpful. After reading some of the negative reviews, I think people have some misplaced expectations. If you think that it will be silent living in the city, you're wrong. It's a city, there is noise. I have almost never hear another neighbor, so I find the units to be astonishingly quiet compared to previous experiences. If you think that elevators aren't going to need maintenance or that a buzzer system is going to be flawless, you're wrong. Things will need maintenance, stuff gets used. From what I have seen the maintenance staff here is very on it. Politely brining items that need attention to the staff, shockingly works. tl;dr - I like it here, and if you have expectations inline with reality, you'll like it here also. read more

They are bunch of thieves.Nevin showed us different nice apartments and told us the apartment we are going to get is almost same and with same ventilation system .She made us pay $300 deposit saying that there are people in queue for that apartment.Okay , so we did that and the day we got the apartment it was something else .There were tiny windows and that too a huge ugly pillar was covering them up .When we said you showed us something and giving us something else and asked to refund us our money back she simply denied saying that you should know how much time we have spent with you .She showed us apartment only twice and that's her job.That's what she's paid for .Now, she wants to charge for showing the apartments and giving the false information. I don't usually write reviews but in my current situation where I feel like I'm paying for something that definitely is not worth its price. I sincerely want to get this out: If anyone is considering moving into 989 STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Ive been here for about 3 months and a lot of the one star reviews here and on Google as are right on in terms of the cons of this awfully managed place. The leasing agent Nevin was excellent us at move in (most of the leasing agents are great), but everything else about Elements has just been downhill from there. I was at a UDR property before I moved here and had a good experience so I wanted to continue my relationship with them when I moved to Bellevue. But If I had the $5k needed to break my lease with 989 Elements lying around right now, i'd definitely jump ship and go to a place like Alley 111 or one of the newer apartments around here. Moving into 989 was definitely one of the worst housing decisions I've made in my life. Trust me, stay away from 989 elements, you will be disappointed and regret your decision after about 1 to 3 months here. I feel like 909 and 958 might be a better deal, but for their price, I'd still recommend other properties around here which are much better managed, newer, and most likely much cheaper in the long run. Ive seen properties managed and maintained by younger less experienced people that are doing a million times better than here at 989. read more

I love this building. I've run into exactly none of the problems other people have mentioned and I've lived here for a year. In fact, I just renewed my lease in the midrise building I have yet to see an elevator out of service. The *freight* elevator is frequently reserved for use - that's what it's for. You'll be glad when you order that new sofa you've been eyeing at Pottery Barn. The management has been great. After I moved in, I've had little need to contact them, yet my leasing agent still knows me by name. If that isn't enough, the $100 "Hey - Happy Summer! Enjoy El Gaucho on us!" gift card that they gave every resident was pretty awesome. The concierges are friendly and helpful and twice they've delayed their break (literally turning around after seeing me walking toward the office) so they could retrieve one of my packages. I've put in a service request twice and both were handled promptly; one call included the guy adding a little touch up paint to a corner (completely unrelated to the reason he'd been called) just because he thought it needed it. All of this and an indoor pool, a great gym, and a yoga studio, in addition to the retail downstairs. Thank you, Elements Too. OH - The neighbors next door have two loud yippy dogs; I know because I've seen them in the hall. Never once have I heard them while in my apartment - the interior walls are amazing. Yes, you'll hear the white noise from the traffic and a siren or two every day. If you don't want to hear downtown, why would you move to a downtown building with floor to ceiling windows? read more

I live in Elements too, and just got screwed over with a $559 utility bill. I barely live in my apartment as a traveling consultant, and have been gone 85% of the time since Oct 16th 2009 when I moved in including 6 weeks in a row from Dec 25-Feb5. My bill was $559 total for a 1BR, almost $200/mo, including $15 'new account' and $4 'service fee'. Did I mention my heat has been TURNED OFF the whole time? Allocated Water Service $107.46 Gas - Hot Water $ 139.01 Allocated Sewer Service $ 240.95 Trash Base Fee $ 52.58 Service Fee $ 4.00 New Account Fee $ 15.00 ======================= Total $ 559.00 This is totally ridiculous. Not to mention no detail on the bill (water used, gas used, etc.) just 'allocation'. Crazy billing. Individual metered usage is the only way to go or you risk getting screwed like this. read more

This review only pertains to the staff of the leasing office (Nevin & Mychal) as we decided to not move in after too many mistakes. The final mistake being that they leased the apartment we had been shown and agreed to rent after we were sent three application links all of which had the incorrect pricing and lease length information. We did receive confirmation that they received our signed documents through the application site but they still leased the apartment to someone else. If that is the level of professionalism in the leasing process I was not willing to find out what it would be like if we were actual tenants. I truly hope any one else who lives there or goes through the application process has a much better experience than we did. We will actively avoid UDR properties going forward. read more

So, we've been living here for exactly one year, and for the fourth time (or is it the fifth; it's been so frequent I've lost count) the sink has backed up and filled with water. And for the second time in a year (of this number I'm sure) the apartment has flooded, from the kitchen sink and countertops to kitchen floor, into living room and one bedroom carpet. One rug now ruined. Oh, and the entire maintenance staff is apparently in Vegas accepting some type of corporate award-hopefully not indoor plumbing-related- so they really can't fix this until later this week. I am not a tenant but I recently hosted a Paint & Pour night for the tenants. Sonaly approached me for this event as a way for people to get to know their neighbors and just as an extra fun thing for tenants. I thought this was a great way to foster a little sense of community and apparently the tenants did too because they were all chatting it up having a great time by the end. She brought in lots of nice snacks and wines and was an awesome host, she seemed to have a genuine rapport with everybody and was very attentive. Having started at 9am and staying until shortly after 9pm and doing it all with a smile made it apparent that she is really invested in the Elements community. As for the space I did get to walk around a little bit and its really very cool. I saw a theater room with comfy chairs and couches, a great gym with lots of nice equipment, a few conference or open rooms and of course the lounge area we did our paint event in. It had a great kitchen, pool table, fire place, patio, and areas that had booth tables. I even got to enjoy a cup of coco from their new electronic barista machine they have in there.It was a space I would definitely hang out often. Another thing I must mention was that all these amenities are open 24 hours which I have to say is pretty rare in my experience. Overall seems like a great place to live and the location is prime downtown Bellevue. read more

I lived in the elements too apartment complex for more than 3 years and 2 years renting a very overpriced penthouse unit. While the apartment (and bathroom!) were beautiful and well appointed there were unfortunately more unpleasantness that went with it. Likes: -Walk-in shower bathroom -Great views -Location and restaurants -Wonderful and Friendly Concierge staff -Beautiful building Hate: -Move-out was ridiculous-we were charged for damages we DID not do and they lost receipts for cleaning that we had professionally done (but were still charged) -We were given the wrong move out date verbally and then charged a prorated fee (then told to give proof on why we moved out late!) -Locked ot of the elevators and apartment (on the 25th floor) several times due to fire-alarms going off often -Move in-we had a flood -So many tickets from parking on the wrong floor for an evening (The tickets are $75!) -A lot of things fell apart-door handles, cabinet doors, blinds, windows that wouldn't open/shut. -Noisy-traffic and sirens -Expensive utilities -They harass you if you don't pay your rent on the 1st-call and email I did initially love the place and the location but the move-out was disrespectful and really a scam! Erin, James and Elements+ GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure that your experience is Five Star. First... the place is super clean. Second... something is always being upgraded. This month... it's both fitness centers. Wow. Third and most importantly... the Elements Team makes you feel like family. The team will deliver a package, let a cleaning person into the apartment, move your vehicle or anything else to be of service. We thoroughly researched all of our options for a corporate apartment in Bellevue. The Elements Team won us over with attitude and heart. I give them five stars because six isn't yet an option. This building is just beuatiful! The chandeliers and art work are beautiful! The green space is very calming. The running water is very nice to listen too and it opens into an infinity pond. The building is always imaculate, including the restrooms. There are several great places to eat, get coffee, or do yoga! I love the lights for Christmas at this time of year! read more

This place is setup to purely process tenants and locking them into leases with subpar living conditions - yes its beautiful, but its noisy - super hot when its sunny, super cold when its cold out - resulting in heating and AC costs that are staggering (200-300) - car was broken into several times, car was ding'd, hit and ran - I moved in with a new car, its now junk'd up. Zero security, zero concern. Fast food mentality and you should stay well away from this residence unless you're planning to pay 2k for a place that's all looks. This is why almost none of their tenants extend their lease after the first year - there is always a space available. read more

I read the negative reviews and almost didn't sign here. So far everything has been great, ok not everything is super fast when it comes to some major issues like replacing a door or something. It does happen though and the people here seem to be acting in good faith. The coffee machine which is super modern doesn't make milk beverages anymore and this has been going on for a week or two. They did put up a sign to apologize and that they've contacted an outside vendor. You can still get your regular coffee and espresso. Everyone has been super helpful and putting in maintenance requests online has usually resulted in friendly staff showing up quickly and resolving even minor issues like a broken blind or a nail in the wall from a previous tenant. Other issues like noise from the building AC have been resolved quickly even after signing the lease. There could be more resident engagement. The online forums are dead and the community events are not very spectacular. I do expect more there. Also I was not in love with the building scent they used in the 989. I did put in a request and sent a message to UdR I hope they can bring it up to date. Please put on some more larger scale community events for people to get to know each other. read more

The leasing staff at Elements screen people according to race because they do not (want to) rent to Blacks. They refused me service, treated me with contempt, and immediately claimed no one bedroom units were available contrary to information online website. The leasing agents purposefully misrepresented information to prevent me from beginning the tenant screening process because they didn't want any Black tenants in the building. Furthermore, both leasing agents expected a white and not a Black person at the appointment because of the common female first name Elisabeth. Their comportment registered visible shock after giving my name for both had believed Black females only had ethnic sounding names. The Elements leasing staff stereotyped a potential rental prospect based on race according to their perception of whom they perceived fit their standards of an ideal resident. read more

I've lived here for 6 months and still love The Elements Apartments! We have a wonderful, modern apartment, great views for a much better price than other places in downtown Bellevue. We love the beautiful common areas (beautiful pool, lounge with hot chocolate/coffee machine, fire-warmed balcony, nice conference rooms and two theatres, and two well-equipped gyms), as well as the upscale lower floors with local businesses in them. All common areas are clean and well maintained. We've had almost no maintenance issues, but when we've had them (adjusting a door, adjusting a leaky toilet, smoke detector replacement), they sent someone to repair it quickly. The concierge staff (Arnold, Tate, and Catherine) really care about the residents. They are fabulous and make it such a pleasure to live here (they are friendly and enthusiastically answer questions that they've probably heard 100 times, they serve little treats near the concierge desk, they post community announcements and fun riddles in the elevator, they arrange special free events for residents--movie night, painting night, family activities, wine tasting--all kinds of fun things). The friendly attitude spills over to the residents, who almost always say "Hi" and are friendly in the elevators and common areas. I love living here! read more

I do not personally live in these community apartments but I was blown away by the service I received. I had a package sent to an employee in the building that was lost and delivered to the wrong apartment. Alyssa was quick to help me and troubleshoot. she kept in constant contact and was extremely professional, well spoken and knowledgeable! True leadership. Thank you Alyssa! read more

I am a new resident in the Midrise tower. This review is for the move-in process and the few hours I just spent exploring. Staff: Excellent service from the first call I made to getting the keys. Wes Miller is solid and upfront about costs. Facilities: The res floors smell like a clean public bathroom (interpret as you will - for downtown living, this is acceptable to me). Fitness room, spa, and common areas are state of the Art. Parking: a bit tight, like that the residents parking is gated. Location: A bit of a walk to Bellevue Square, right next to the 405 though for my commute. 4 stars, only for the res floor scent. My apartment itself smells brand new. Smoothest paperwork process Ive ever been through **EDIT: Moved out to go to NYC. Got charged $250 for touch up paint which I think is pretty steep. Move out process was smooth. As long as you budget for the high move out cost, this was an overall good living experience for six months. read more

I am just updating my post on Elements as an alumni resident: I moved states and I know someone who lives in the same community, however in my state, and although it is very nice, as well, I do not believe any apartment complex will ever surpass the wonderful, caring, genuine, meticulous, hardworking staff that you will find here. Things are unfortunately a bit dark and tough during this coronavirus, people are getting aggravated all over the world and this is natural given our current climate, but no matter the situation, I know without a doubt, the staff at elements always works hard to ensure the safety and happiness of the residents they care for. They always have and always will. Whether it be losing a phone in the lobby to managing fire alarm precautions to various other highly demanding circumstances, Elements is ALWAYS on top of the game. I've lived here for 1 1/2 years. The customer service is amazing when you first move in then it's a nightmare from there on. You're suppose to receive a 500.00 credit for referral that I never received when my close friend moved in. The elevators NEVER work. You have to ride all 27 floors most days because the second elevator is always out. We want out of this apartment and they are now saying that it's 3 times your rent payment to get out! The contract makes it appear as though it's only double. All staff had been rude since then and now we just feel stuck. Stay away from this place!!! read more

Horrible management and entered our apartment multiple times without consent even though we explicitly noted at move-in that we had a dog. Proceeded to disrespect my wife and charge unreasonable move-out fees. There are much better options downtown Bellevue... stay away from this complex. read more

PLEASE BE AWARE- This is a UDR property a big corporation and they DO NOT care. We turned in our keys the day after our move out date because our move out date fell on Sunday Mother's Day. I communicated with management and they said that is fine. Well I got a bill for $132 for that extra 12 hours. When we moved in, the apartment had old carpet. However we were then billed for the REPLACEMENT of that carpet upon move out. They showed us pictures of stains on the pad underneath. But would Not show us what it looked like before we moved in. They claim they are not required to. We were told upon move in that if we make any nail holes to just fill them and sand them. So we did. Then we were billed for paint. Had there been extra paint, I would have done it myself rather than pay $240 for someone else to do it. Overall it was the worst move-out experience ever. We have no recourse except to pay it or else it's sent to collections. I wish I could give zero stars. read more
