Well after extensive research in looking for a new barber, I decided to give this place a shot due to all the great reviews, I booked an appointment online and the system gave me Devon. The website emailed my confirmation and said that they have strict Covid protocols that must be followed. Wait outside, masks, distancing, etc. Also show up early and no grace period. So I'm thinking what a strict, professional place this must be and was impressed. Well I showed up 15 mins early and asked the girl (without a mask) working there for him. She told me to have a seat and he will be there. Ok so another barber walks in (also unmasked) with 2 unmasked clients and they start BS'ing and now it turns into a social hour. Which is fine but why all the strict protocol emails if no one is going to adhere to them? Anyway, Devon (unmasked as well) walks in 3 mins late (not a big deal but also not a great first impression either) and calls out to me. No personality and gets straight to the point, I tell him how I wanted it and talk about rushed. From the time I sat down to the time I was in the seat of my car going home, it was 12 mins! As soon as he was done, he was out the door. I guess he was obviously in a rush but c'mon, they say 35 mins for the cut. I mean it's not the worst haircut but definitely no where near quality either. I did have to go home and touch up (which none of us should have to do especially after paying $30) I did have a few blotches and the top was barely touched. I know you guys will say, "Well you should have said something and made him stay and do it right" Well with the rush vibe I was getting from him and not feeling it made me say heck with it. I can't speak for the other two barbers that were there and maybe they are much better but I'm not going back to find out. From the loud music, TVs, BS'ing conversation, I just wasn't feeling it. This place is a young, hipster, unprofessional, social hour with more focus on socializing than what they are paid to do for sure. Took my son in on Monday October 4th. He has picture day today and need a hair cut. Took a chance with this place and boy do I regret it. Worse hair cut a person could give. Erica is by far the best barber I've ever had. She's new at this location, but has been cutting my hair for almost a year now. Her artistry with the clippers is unmatched, but it's her devotion to customer service that truly sets her apart. She always takes her time and doesn't rush through the cut. She will take the time to make you feel welcome. She's also great with kids. She gave my nephew his first haircut when he was barely 1. Erica is the true definition of 5 stars. I called in after hours for my nephew who lives in the area. He sent me a text in panic mode that he couldn't get his hair cut before his big date tonight lol! So I looked up a barbershop in the area and called them (even though they were closed) to give it a shot and the owner Josh answered the phone!! He said that the shop was closed but that he would still take my nephew in to give him a hair cut. My nephew went right in and after he was finished he FaceTimed me and he was so happy! Josh took him right in and gave him what he needed for a haircut. That's quality service if you ask me. I did this remotely from Texas too! I've gotten some good cuts here, but the quality hasn't been the same. I've gotten 2 bad cuts from two different barbers that were either drinking or high. I walked into the shop and it immediately smelled like weed, I have no problem with that if you're able to function properly, but that wasn't the case. The dude cut my hair without wetting it first and left so many split ends and made the front of my hair extremely uneven. The last time I went, almost all the barbers were drinking in between appointments. Two barbers and the owner were talking while I was getting my cut and it took an hour 1/2 to get the cut because he kept stopping to talk. When I got home, my hair turned out to be uneven and choppy and thinned my hair out. To top it all off, the barbers are very flaky and switch appointments last minute, do NOT recommend. read more

I have been desperately searching for a barber to cut my hair with perfection, detail, and affordable prices. I haven't had any luck... until today. I drove for miles to come here at the "Elevate Barbershop" and boy was it worth it. My barber was a guy named "Marcus" he kept conversation with me while doing my hair and playing background music. He was VERY detailed and careful with my hair. He also was very informative on how I can maintain my hair to look fresh and good. I left with a smile on my face knowing I hit the jackpot. Received a terrible beard trim today. My cheek came out red and burning since the barber didn't bother to use shaving cream or aftershave. The sides are uneven and the fade is really bad. The barber also trimmed my sideburns too high which is going to take a while to grow back out. Very unsatisfied. read more

This is a very good shop with skillful barbers. I've been here several times and have had cuts with at least 3 different barbers. All of them did either very good or excellent cuts for me. Local barbershops- take note. This is how a is supposed to be. I've been coming here for the last few months and man has it been worth it. I've noticed that a lot of other shops always come with the same strange gimmicks like Floyd's or one of those other mainstream shops. Not to say there's anything wrong with those shops but some times appearance doesn't always meet the quality of service. But Elevate is different- They walk the walk. The barbers are super down to earth and professional- which is rare in today's barber industry. Everyone always wants to take Instagram pictures and take forever to make a cut look good. I get my hair cut by Caitlin and boy can she cut. She gave me the exact fade I've been looking for. She talked me thru different ways I can style my hair and even recommended certain products that they have for sale inside of the shop. The owner came out to the floor and introduced himself and even offered me a smoothie since he was on his way to get one. This shop is just different. If you're a 626 local and are in the market for a new barbershop then I highly recommend these guys. I'd give them 6 stars if I could. read more

I went into Elevate today because I work across the street. My barber on this side of town recently moved to Glendale which is way too far for me to drive to. So I decided to give this place a try because I was in dyer need of a hair cut. So I walked over on my lunch break with no appointment (first mistake!) I walked in and there was only one barber. Which was interesting. Knowing I had time constraints I couldn't afford to ask them who the best barber was and when they were going to be available. The shop was clean- which was good. It honestly looks new but their listing shows they've been open for a little while now. I don't know how I haven't been into the place before. Maybe because going to a new barber is TERRIFYING. With that said- I was really nervous. A barber helped me out though. He said he was ready and available. They were watching Black Panther and kind of chilling. So I'm surprised he was so welcoming and got me in his hair right away. I usually get a bald fade with a 5 o'clock shadow trim to the beard. So that's what I asked for. He seemed kind of unsure at the time and sized me up. Spun me around a few times and he was off to the races. He was relatively quiet. But he did ask me how I heard about the shop and where I was from etc. I wasn't too into the small talk anyway since I had to be back at work pretty quickly. I was just really anxious about getting a good cut in a timely fashion. I felt like I was almost timing the poor guy. He did a good job tho! I'm a harsh critic so I'm gonna say that he could have done a better job getting my fade closer. But overall he executed pretty well. I may still be driving to Glendale to see my new barber. But overall this experience wasn't half as bad as I expected. I'm surprised and refreshed. Plus it's a black/ brown owned business so we gotta support each other. Robert is an absolute beast. As a man, our hairstyle is as important to our looks as make up and nails are for women. With that said, I've had a lot of trouble getting my hair exactly how I wanted it and have switched barbers multiple times for the past few years because most would just cut and send me on my way. So I really needed something to happen. He put me in touch with a guy named Brian who works at elevate. He's a young barber. The process with him was pretty seemless. I reached out and he was able to fit me in the next day. He told me to bring $25 cash. So I did. It all worked out. I went in and got my fresh cut and got out. Came in for a walk-In. Many chairs were available, but only 2 barbers at the moment around 2pm with 3 customers in total waiting. The place is very open and and very modern, they have a dope elevate sign glowing in the middle of the shop. Music videos we're playing g which was dope cause we were all bong and watching too. My barber was good and knew exactly what I wanted and they delivered as a walk in. My appointment was set up by the social media team through yelp which was very professional.
