However, as an existing patient, the next appt they had available was 8 1/2 months out. Stop accepting new patients if you can not handle the ones that you already have. It's a slap in the face. It's also a zoo when you go in there. It's very hectic and I've never seen the same hygienist more than once. They also have an annoying habit of pestering you. For example, I had a 1pm appt. I was parking the car and at 1:01pm I get a call asking if I'm still coming. However, on multiple visits I've waited in the lobby 15 minutes past the appointment time to be taken in. So they are fine with making you wait but 1 minute late on your part and it's an issue.

Initial photos and X-rays were completed, and the dentist reviewed the images with me. However, a few things stood out compared to my prior dental experiences over several decades of regular 6-month cleanings. I was asked to sign what appeared to be an open-ended insurance dispute form before services were rendered. At the time, I didn't fully understand the purpose of the form and in retrospect wish I had asked more questions before signing. During X-rays, there were multiple retakes. While occasional retakes are understandable, this felt like more than I've typically experienced in past dental visits. Despite having consistent six-month cleanings and no prior indication of periodontal concerns, a deep cleaning was recommended at this initial visit. This was unexpected based on my dental history. I chose to decline. Following that decision, the cleaning consisted of polishing and fluoride treatment. There was no scaling of tartar or flossing performed, which differs from every routine cleaning I've received in the past. The polishing also did not appear to cover all tooth surfaces. Additionally, there was no final dentist examination after the cleaning was completed. Overall, while the staff was kind and scheduling was easy, the clinical portion of the visit differed significantly from what I've experienced at other dental practices.

She declined and requested just a regular cleaning, but was told they could not do that since it would be a disservice to her. My wife is overly protective of her teeth, so it was shocking that they said she would need that, but even more shocking they would not perform a regular cleaning as requested. As consumers we need to watch out for each other and not allow companies to take advantage of us. Hopefully someone reads this and doesn't allow this business to take their money for something they do not need. We will request a copy of x-rays, periodontal chart, and a written plan explaining why a standard cleaning was not appropriate. We will get a second opinion and if they do not align, we will report this to the dental board for being unethical.

Once they re-opened, I felt that I should wait until the people who had more pressing issues were seen since my crown was doing just fine. I was waiting for the little crown that could to put up a fight when it was being taken out.. Plink!! Popped right out! (thank God it didn't happen when I was eating! I am still going to Welch dentistry. I went for a couple years without insurance and things are happening. I broke off a chunk of my molar a week before vacation. I called them up at 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and they got me in at 8 AM on Thursday morning. I requested to have the work done when I got back from vacation so he did a temporary fix to get me by. Today I had my crown done. He told me I might need a root canal, but we wouldn't know until we got there. But they did send in a pre-authorization to my insurance to see how much I would end up paying so there was no surprise. The only surprise was, he said I did not need the root canal which made me super happy. So don't think for one minute they just bill you for stuff you don't need. A lot of damage has happened in two years unfortunately so I will be going there probably once every other month until the end of the year. But that's OK. I'm glad I have the insurance again and I'm able to go back to them because I'd rather go nowhere than not go to them. Once you find a dentist, you trust, you stay there. I completely trust these people.. I trust them to do the work and do the work right, I also trust that they will not do unnecessary work just to bill me. I have never had a problem with any of their work. Quite honestly, I think that sometimes people may not listen to instruction, and that is why they lose crowns or fillings or things like that. I was told not to go crazy with my water pick, and not to eat crunchy or sticky food with my crown right now. She also said do not avoid it either or I can make the tissue get inflamed.
