I'm a boba fanatic so when there's a new boba joint in town, I'm trying it. I found this place because I was eating at a restaurant nearby and saw their grand opening sign for buy 1 get 1 free. My typical order at any boba place is either honey jasmine green tea or jasmine milk tea. Because of their grand opening promotion, I got to try both. The verdict? Both were.. Eh, just okay. Jasmine green milk tea had too much milk for my liking and the honey green tea lacked that sweet honey flavor. They weren't bad.. Just not my cup of tea. Excited to have another Tea shop in the area I came in here with high hopes. I'm a fanatic over Hokkaido Milk Tea (made with real Hokkaido Milk). I saw that they had this on their menu and excitingly order a large with sweetness level at 1/2. Nice that they allow you to select the sweetness level as an added bonus. After paying and waiting for my order to be made, my excitement quickly dissipated to disappointment. They make the drinks right out in the open and I expected to see fresh Hokkaido Milk mixed with my black tea. Powdered milk? Yes, that's what I saw as they made my drink. Powdered milk in place of Hokkaido Milk? They should rename their teas and remove the term Hokkaido Milk. My drink was ok, the tea was weak but the sweetness level was what I wanted. There is always customers here at night. I take that as a good sign. The interior design is fairly simple..I do like more simplicity and easy on the eyes so as I walked in into this place, I felt at ease LOL. Pros: I've only tried three drinks here and I have to say, their signature milk tea is a win for me. The milk tea was perfect, not too sweet or bland. I prefer mine without any add ons but egg pudding goes well with their milk tea! I bought the same drink for my bf and asked if he liked it. Coming here is like eating cake. You only really should do it once in a while, at night, and never alone. Look, I've lived in this area for a long time. I have tried boba near, far, wherever you are. There is no difference between good milk tea and great milk tea, or at least not enough to warrant obsessing over. Does this place fall under good or great? Yes. But, good luck coming here during the day on a weekend. This area is absolutely nuts in terms of traffic and I wouldn't ever want to deal with it for boba from here. My main complaint is the time it takes to get drinks. Even when there was no one else here ordering anything, does it really take 15+ minutes to make a milk tea? It's always a long wait for drinks, regardless of crowds. So is there anything super special about this place? They do offer "crystal boba". What is crystal boba? Hell if I know. Came here tonight after work and was craving boba. Usually frequent the Ding Tea by Phybie but they were closed so I came here. Friendly workers when I ordered a brown sugar milk tea and drink came out fast and their workers are efficient. I used to not like Ding Tea due to back then I felt it was watered down but now drinking it I like the taste as it has improved significantly. Anyways the drink I got wasn't too sweet and boba was chewy which is big points for me. Along with friendly staff so I can't complain. By far the best lychee milk tea I've had so far and I really enjoyed the chewy texture of the golden boba (is a honey "golden" color") and my boyfriend got the signature milk tea with regular boba which he enjoyed as well. You can taste the quality in these drinks and the real "tea" flavor in the signature milk tea. Personally, this is the best Ding Tea location in my area. My drinks always taste really good and refreshing. I usually order a lychee green tea with golden boba, 30% sweetener, and extra ice. Yes! I love a whole lotta ice in my drinks! I don't know how some people go with less ice. My daughter normally gets a jasmine green milk tea with crystal boba and she also agrees that they make her drinks the best here. I've been drinking boba tea for a long time now, and I can really taste the subtle difference from each location. This location is one of the first Ding Tea locations and in my opinion makes the best drinks! I think their service is great as well, they are to the point and pretty quick! So when I'm craving Ding Tea, I make a conservative effort to go to this one even when the plaza is packed with bad drivers, but it's worth it!! read more

This place has easily become my newest favorite boba spot. It would be even more perfect if they offered food items so I can get something to eat too, but hey if you're doing one thing well, might as well just stick to that, huh! Anyway, so I've been here maybe 3-4 times and I've been happy every time! The first time I went, I had Jasmine Milk Tea, my go-to for comparing boba places. I personally like a more tea-like flavor than milk and I think Dingtea has the perfect blend for me! Also, the tea is very fragrant, making the milk tea taste really good! I also tried a sip of their Signature Milk Tea, which is similar to the Jasmine, and tasty in its own way! Once, I decided to try a different drink just cuz... I wanted to get the Signature, but dumb me mistakenly ordered Hokkaido instead, because I was thinking about how my friend really likes that flavor at this shop. It was good, but it had too much of a brown sugar taste for me. I've also tried the Hokkaido at the Boiling Point in Garden Grove, which I DID NOT like (too perfume-y for my tastes). I liked this one a bit better, but still not to my liking. I'll just stick to Jasmine from now on! The inside is pretty small, so there's not that much seating or wait room. It took 45 minutes for four people behind the counter to make us 3 teas and what's crazy is that all the tea that they were serving was already pre-brewed and sitting in large dispensers! To be fair they were just a little busy, but in this day and age no matter how busy you are, this long of a wait time when you're in the business of serving only drinks is absurd. 45 minutes is almost enough time to order, eat and pay for a full dinner at a sit-down restaurant. So, the moral of the story is, if you don't mind waiting close to 1 hour for tea, give this place a try! When I finally got my tea it was good, but I've had better. I've been on a boba hunt cause I've had a weird craving for boba lately. So, I hit up Bolsa and found the shop (surrounded by 2 nearby boba places). THE SHOP: Considering it was a Tuesday night, it was actually not too crowded but not dead empty. There were 5 workers and about 2 groups of 3 sitting and lounging. From my wait, I saw a customer come out with a bag of 4 boba cups and a customer came in when I left. The environment isn't a place I would consider as a study area because it had pretty loud music and not enough seating for independent study. If one group were to come in, the store would feel pretty crowded, so it's definitely a pay, get, and go shop. THE BOBA: I asked the guy what their best drinks were since I was a newbie here. He recommended the first 2 on their menu: the signature milk tea and the jasmine green milk tea. The standard price was $3.05 for a regular sized cup and it was 0.50 added if you wanted a large. I also was recommended 'golden boba' with it, which was another 0.50 each. Pretty decent price from where I've been drinking. It was a 5 minute wait for my two drinks, and it was a standard boba drink. It wasn't mind blowing, but it was good. My cup had way too much boba and too little tea. I should've asked for less ice, since I usually like having an even boba to tea ratio. OVERALL: We downed the drink in about 15 minutes, and my mom could sense the honey in the boba. One of my favorite place to go when I'm craving boba. When I come here I always get the Oolong Milk Tea w/ Golden Boba! They use some pretty good tea here and I can actually taste the oolong. Golden boba is not your regular black boba, it has a little sweet taste and the texture is much different, different is better! Located in a pretty big plaza so you won't have a hard time finding parking. First off let me say that I love Ding Tea but for some reason my order is never consistently right. It's happened at this location more than once that I now have to say something. My go to drink is always the same... brown sugar boba milk with crystal boba. And YES, I want BOTH orders of golden boba AND crystal boba. Never notice it until I've gone into the car and left before realizing where's the boba??? I'm not coming back and waiting to find parking again for them to fix the order. Lesson learned. One of my new favorite tea shops which is a pretty big compliment considering how many different shops are around. My favorite drink is the Kiwi Aloe Vera Juice. It is refreshing and already comes with the aloe vera topping! Their boba is, in my opinion, the perfect consistency and sweetness. Though, I usually do not care for boba in my drinks. The staff is also pretty sweet and helpful, especially this one guy... sorry, I wish I knew your name. He warned me about adding boba to my hot beverage which I thought was really nice considering he could have just charged me for it and made me deal with my poor decision later. There is a nice big table for customers to hang out and maybe get some work done. They have some "photo-worthy" walls to use as backdrops for those who need to Instagram everything. The only bummers about this place are the location... as with most Little Saigon plazas, the parking can be dreadful... Also, the shop itself is pretty small and the counter is right by the door so if it gets crowded, things get confusing and cramped really fast. I had such high expectations for this place because of the "Taiwanese Tea House" sign :( Unfortunately, the tea here isn't as strong as I'd like. I got the Jasmine Green Tea with boba. The tea tasted a little watered down and the boba was an annoying size that's in between regular boba and mini boba. My friend got the Hokkaido milk tea because that's what everyone raves about, and it was just alright. I don't see what the hype is about, but at least it wasn't terrible. Came today with a friend and the service was pretty bad. We didn't know what to order, so we stood behind the drinks counter, drinks' counter not the register, and browsed the menu. However, one of the employee, a girl with black hair and pretty short, I think her name was Rose..? Not sure, but she kept trying to rush us to order by telling us "we can take your order here" in a passive aggressive tone, twice, even though we told her that we needed a minute, it was not appreciated. There weren't anyone behind us as it was a Monday and not rush hour, it was around 4:30 ish. Fast forward to 10 minutes later, my friend's brother was drinking his drink and he opened the seal to see the golden boba and wanted to eat the ice, but he found a hair. What is this! This place caught my eye because I noticed the good reading over a decent amount of reviews. As a chain store, I had my reservations, but after trying it I can say that this is a solid place to grab a drink. The place is a bit small, and for a Friday night there were not that many workers. Only three that I can see. Waited about 20 minutes total. There's a good amount of chairs to sit considering the size of the place, and everything is kept pretty clean. The drink making process seems pretty tidy too. Sugars are machine operated and creamer is tucked away cleanly. The drinks are also made to order, unlike some chain stores that make many drinks in bulk and in advance. Ordered a signature milk tea with half sugar and half ice. Tried their golden boba, its not actually golden but is definitely lighter than the typical boba. Keep in mind this isn't honey boba, so you don't get the sweet, sticky coating around the boba. This isn't a bad thing; the boba is actually chewy without being too hard, and is sweet enough as it is. Are there better drink places out there? Yeah. But the prices are low, quality is good, and at least the boba is different. I'm quite a fan of this place. Love their peach and lychee green teas, the tea is not too strong and the drink overall is not too sweet at all. Traditional milk tea is also very good and strong on the black tea taste, although I like my milk teas on the creamier side. Only downside is that they have a $5 minimum for card, so even if I make my drink a large + add on, it falls a dollar short (even though that just means their drinks are quite cheap!)
