After seeing so many people check into here from Yelp, I decided to finally try this place out. I was very surprised to see the level of choices they give you when it comes to customizing the amount of ice and level of sweetness of your drink. I drink my boba pretty bland because I figure that the boba itself is sweet so it will balance itself out. I'm not a big enthusiast of all the different types of flavors most if not all boba places have, I stick with my regular Jasmine milk tea unsweetened. The interesting part here is that they have two types of boba, one is gold and one is regular. The gold one is bigger and has a chewier texture than regular boba. I waited a long time for good quality boba to come to the area. The drinks are fantastic and the boba texture is superb! I spend way too much money here having filled out 2 punch cards in a couple of months. 5/5 for boba. Drink: so the drink I typically get is the Jasmine Green Tea and you can taste the quality of the tea unlike many other places. They give you levels of ice and sweetness to choose from. I always get slightly sweet (30%) and half ice. My wife and best friend always get the jasmine green milk tea. They swear buy it. We used to drive to Cerritos to share tea, which still has a drink we love (oolong milk tea with lychee jelly), but the distance is a deal breaker for casual boba cravings. If only ding tea carried lychee jelly!!! Boba: when I lived in Berkeley, I would go to this tea house called Asha, that had perfect texture and sweetness on their boba. I would argue Ding Tea excels at this as well. When we started coming here, they didn't have regular boba and offered golden boba. Since then, I've had the regular boba once and while it's good, I think I've fallen in love with their golden boba. Please try it: you won't find fault with it like other loves in your life. Consistency is key to these sort of places and consistency is high here. Timeliness: the staff on hand is usually about 2 people when I come. If you go during off hours, the drinks are made pretty quickly, but you can still tell they pride themselves on ensuring quality rather than trying to just push out drinks. Normally I'm pretty refreshed after going to this tea shop. It's been my go-to for a long time now. My favorite order to get is the Chocolate Milk Tea with Egg Pudding. Today, however, one of the guys that served me and my friend was being really pushy and kept asking us if we wanted to add any boba to my order. I literally had to tell him twice that I just wanted egg pudding in my Chocolate Milk Tea. You'd think that after telling him twice what you wanted, he would've gotten your order right. It sounds very different and interesting since it's golden. We asked the girl to explain it to us and she said the texture is better than the regular black boba and it's thicker. I read many Yelp reviews before coming here. And the wonderful rumors about their "golden boba". This place is located straight across from Tea Zone on Bushard and Bolsa. I came here a few times on different days and during different times. This place is the most busiest on Saturday afternoon. I came on a busy Saturday and waited 17 minutes for my milk tea with boba...oh my goodness it was a long wait for a simple drink!!! And the least busy during the weekdays late morning around 11:00 They only accept cash if your order is less than $5.00. They accept credit cards or debt if your order is more than $5.00. Their Signuture Milk Tea is VERY good. The tea flavor is very pronounce and is absolutely delicious. A large Signature Milk Tea with boba is about $4.68 with taxes (roughly exact price since you need to bring cash). The Strawberry Milk Tea is also very good. There's small strawberry bites in the drink!! Their "golden boba" tastes like regular boba...only golden in color. There's nothing "wow" about it. It's not even sweetened. Overall this place has excellent boba Milk Tea and I would recommend trying it at least once. But since the location is out of my way I won't come here too often. read more

Came here to try out the yogurt drink since they are the only shop that offers it. I definitely enjoyed the fact that this was made fresh. Unfortunately, I think Calpico tastes better and is slightly cheaper than what they offer here. I also tried the Hokkaido milk tea and that was a disappointment. It had more of a caramel taste to it and just wasn't what I was expecting. Boiling Point will be my to go for when it comes to Hokkaido milk tea. Service: a bit awkward. First we only ordered the yogurt drink. That came out to less than $5 so the girl said that they don't take cards under that amount. Understandably so. So she said that she will run my card for $5 even though my drink didn't even cost that much. Uhh, NO. Instead I went and ordered another drink to meet the minimum that way I can use my card. I LOVE the drinks but what kept me from giving it 5 stars is the wait. It takes freaking forever for drinks especially after 8pm. Take away the wait and this place ranks probably top 3 for favorite boba in Orange County. The signature milk tea with boba is probably my go to drink and dare I say the best milk tea around the area. The mango green tea less sweet with aloe is also perfection. I've also had the Oolong black tea, grape green tea and peach green tea - all of which are delicious too. The overall quality and price of Ding Tea is hard to beat. Anyways, that's all you really ever have to order. The boy usually gets the Hokkaido coffee which is bomb dot come too. The workers were busy at work and a cute staff of 3 were pushing those drinks out. Me personally, walking in and reading the menu, it was standard with the choices of milk tea, black teas & add-ins. I discovered the Matcha Milk Tea & the Lychee Black Tea. The cashier was very sweet, took my order, paid and then gave me my number for my order. The pricing of this place is moderate, like most boba places, in expensive. Regular is $3-4 and Large is $5-6. Upon getting my drink, I was amazed by the taste only to find out that it wasn't how I expected it to be. When I think Matcha, I think MATCHA PUNCH. No no, this was a nice suttle flavor. I came here on a late Monday night an hour before they were about to close. I came here after stuffing my face down the street at Flower Pig and I was really craving some milk tea as dessert. When I first came in, I was welcomed by the cashier. She gave my friends and I a quick overview of the store as it was all of our first times here. She even told us what the top drinks were and tried to describe what they tasted like with references to other store drinks, as they don't have any samples. I got the matcha milk green tea to drink on the spot and their hokkaido milk tea as a "coffee" type of drink for the next morning. They were both very delicious. However, the hokkaido milk tea wasn't what I expected. My favorite hokkaido milk tea is from boiling point, and the hokkaido milk tea here tastes very different compared to the boiling point version. Because of that, I have to give this place 4 stars because it did not meet my expectations. Overall, this place is affordable, tasty, and very welcoming. They also have a stamp card so you can get rewards for your purchases. I won't be coming back often, as this place is a pretty far drive for me (I'm in Irvine). This is my best friend's favorite tea place. Thus, I have been here about one billion times and counting. What keeps bringing us back? My friend usually orders and loves the brown sugar milk tea, which I think is ok. I personally order their peach green tea and it is pretty thirst quenching. I don't know what they do but their tea tastes really good and is simple enough for me to enjoy. They have a minimum card requirement of $10 so I usually split the costs when I'm ordering with someone else (I always forget my cash). They have a small amount of tables that you can chill in and a accessible bathroom. Boba places in the SGV have a large drink variety so there's always something different to get every time. On the other hand, boba places in the OC seem to only specialize in mostly Jasmine Milk Tea and Thai Tea and a couple other drinks, which I was getting really tired of. OC boba places that do have a larger variety like Tebo Tebo and Tra Teahouse are just too average. Therefore, I'm happy that Ding Tea opened up because they have good drinks that aren't just Jasmine Milk Tea or Thai Tea. I'm disappointed in their Hokkaido Milk Tea, though because it's coffee flavored. The cashier warned me ahead of time but I got it anyway and regretted it, not that good. When I saw that it has Hokkaido milk tea I had to try it since I love the one at boiling point and was wondering if this Taiwanese tea house was anything comparable.
