Went to the Garden Grove Sunright because I wanted to try the blue hokkaido milk frostie BOGO deal in honor of the Dodgers winning. Once my drink was ready, I noticed there were no boba straws in the normal holder. I asked the barista for a straw and she curtly let me know they ran out of boba straws. It's a little crazy a boba shop has no boba straws.... Our drink had blue agar balls in it, so it's been a struggle to drink this one. The frostie itself leans very caramel. Usually, the signature oolong milk tea or fruit teas quality are all really good across all of SGV. I've been a Sunright customer for years and have tried a bunch of different drinks. Pretty much all of them have been great, but today (Wed 6/3/2026) was my first time trying the Grapefruit Jasmine Tea and honestly I didn't really wanna take another sip after the first sip. It was unpleasantly bitter. Even the bitterness from black coffee without sugar doesn't hit my throat as hard as this did. Fyi, I got it with 75% sweet. At first I thought maybe the tea was overbrewed, but I called and asked if it's normally that bitter, and the staff said yes. If that's the intended recipe, I'd really suggest revisiting it and re-adjusting it. If the tea was accidentally overbrewed that day, then I guess it's fine then sigh. read more

I got the Sunright Boba Milk Tea and my daughter chose the Strawberry Frostie. We both enjoyed our drinks. The service was quick, and you could tell they really care about quality--one of their slogans is to "Shake 17 times" to make sure the flavors blend just right. Inside is quite spacious, there were plenty of seating options as well as outside. Coming in, you can order either through the kiosk or at the cashier, though I believe the kiosk is credit only and the cashier being cash only. I had ordered the creme brulee boba milk tea, and was quite satisfied with it. It was hot during this visit, and I found it pretty refreshing. Always had a good time at Sunright Tea Studio! I've been a huge fan since they opened up one of their first locations in Monterey Park. I love trying their Creme Brulee series as well as their Matcha series, so it depends on my mood and feelings :) I also love it when they release some limited flavors, so I got to expand to different types of drinks as well.
