My wife and I started off with the fried green tomatoes and it was very delicious. My wife doesn't like pimento cheese but the way it was prepared it was very smooth and not to sharp. When we came here on vacation it was my job to find some places to eat, this place topped my list! I'm somewhat of a picky person but I easily found at least 10 things I wanted to order. My first pick: Sweet potato pancakes with a side of grits, and let me tell you, this tops my breakfast food experience that I've had in a while. I would eat these everyday if I could. They're biscuits are also made in house which are also so amazing. Everything down the the sweet tea was a 10. My only critique is that it's unmistakable from the outside that this is the restaurant, on the inside though it's very basic restaurant wear and is very plain, I almost would've thought that I was back home instead of in Charleston. As a local, Eli's Table is my personal favorite! My husband and I loved it so much we chose to have our rehearsal dinner here. I was reminded today why I love it so much. I came with a friend from out of town for brunch. The food was amazing! I had the crab cakes benedict. The crab cakes were crispy on the outside and perfectly moist and soft on the inside. Unlike other restaurants, you could see and taste that the main ingredient was crab and not bread or shrimp filler. I paired it with their Bacon Bloody Mary - oh my goodness!!! Eli's Table never fails me...quality ingredients, quantity of servings, and deliciousness with every bite/sip! As most people know, repeat patronage not only comes from quality of food but also from quality of service. Here again, Eli's Table hits the mark. We had Caitlyn as our server, and she was amazing! She was able to share stories about the chef and the restaurant but also give us time to talk amongst ourselves without feeling interrupted. As we left, she even gave us a list of "to try" places that we might like. This has been my experience every time I come. This is what service and dining out should feel like. This place is simply wonderful. We sat in the courtyard for a Friday brunch and had Bellinis. Austin was great in taking care of us. He was very energetic and knowledgeable of the menu. Our food was very tasty. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the home fries. read more

We tried Eli's Table for lunch after exploring The Rosse Museum of Art, and were amazed at the food and service, so much so that we reserved a table for dinner. This restaurant knows one of the secrets of a great dining experience; it's not just the food. The staff is personable, knowledgeable of the menu items, and genuinely friendly. Our servers- Amie at lunch, Brett at dinner, and Jason the manager (who spent precious minutes visiting and taking care that we were well served) were all head and shoulders above most other establishments that we have visited. Our brunch experience here was nothing short of AMAZING. Everything we ordered from the shrimp pancakes (SO GOOD) to the chicken biscuits to the salmon benedict were all cooked to perfection. I was in Charleston on business strolling around with friends with little to no time left on our visit when we saw Eli's Table and met the next morning for breakfast. The staff was relaxed and attentive, and gave us seating options; we chose outside and were escorted to a quiet, conversation ready patio, where we ordered and received a freshly squeezed orange juice, followed by a wonderful Eggs Benedict that was a taste revelation. This is no overstatement - ham that was perfection, a Hollandaise glaze that made others I'd had seem heavy handed, eggs cooked to my specification...all simply wonderful. The side of grits were the most perfectly cooked I've literally ever had, so much so that I paid the bill, did a double take, went back to the kitchen and said, "Whoever cooked those grits....I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!!!" My tiniest of complaints in this otherwise legendary experience? The phone number could not be found to contact you on the framed menu on your storefront! The staff professionally noted my concern, and this did nothing to affect my amazing breakfast experience..can't wait for my business trip next year, really great eatery! read more

We had a reservation and they treated us so well throughout the whole meal. From the very beginning, the waiter tried to make each table feel special by telling people why there table was the best. Since it is a small restaurant, it gets a bit noisy but that is what gives it so much character! Everyone was laughing and enjoying time with friends and family. I would preferred to give a 2.5 if i could. I was really excited about trying Eli's Table but my expectations fell short. We went for brunch and it was really just EHHH. We had some sort of coffee drink, I can't remember what it was but it was really good. It had some sort of caramel mixed in there and as it was our first order we thought things were going well. Next up, fried green tomatoes. I mean, they were just amazing. One of the better dished I've had. Complete 10/10. I would come here again just for these. Lox on flat bread; BAD. The salmon was not fresh at all. In fact it was hard for me to eat. It was way overly salty and had a distinct fishy taste, and not the good kind. It just was not good. My friends ordered other things like the omelet, and a normal Eli's Table breakfast plate; all of which were just okay. Go for the FGT and that pretty much it. We had the most delicious dinner tonight at Eli's Table! As good as the food was the service was even better. If I said it was Impeccable it would not do it justice. Raymond went way beyond our expectations even before he knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary! Once he found this out he went even further to make our night the most memorable anniversary ever! We started with the fried greed tomatoes (as we usually do) but these were the most delicious We have ever eaten (and I've sampled a lot of fgt). Mike had the Ribeye and he devoured it before I even got a pic! My shrimp and grits...well let's just say I can definitely see why they are award winning! In Charleston that says a lot in itself! We had a magical evening in Charleston and it started with dinner at Eli's Table. Everything we ate and drank was amazing. Our soon-to-be 12yo daughter initially was not going to eat the duck and waffles but it turned out to be her favorite dish. We cannot thank Raymond enough because the service was as spectacular as the food. This was our first trip to Charleston. We will come back to visit and eat at Eli's Table. We highly recommend the smoked gouda fondue, the shrimp and grits, and the duck and waffles (it totally beats chicken and waffles). It is pricey but worth the experience. Thank you! read more

AMAZING! Best meal ever, hands down! My anniversary started out average enough until we arrived at Eli's Table (which my husband selected based on reviews). Raymond was our waiter, as he walked away with our drink orders, he over heard me say, "Happy Anniversary" to my husband. He turned back around and said, "Today? And you choose to share it with us?". I said sheepishly, "Yes, its our 1st". Well that put a smile a mile wide on Raymond's face, as if it were his own anniversary, and he set about dazzling us with Eli's offerings and his amazing service. The service: Having worked in the restaurant industry it's easy to spot "waiters" vs. "Professional Servers". Raymond is the latter and exceptional at that, anticipating our every need before we did. Explaining each dish in such vivid detail you could taste it. Based on our interest on the menu, he asked if he could select our dishes for the evening. Confident in his abilities, we happily agreed and were thrilled with every selection! In between courses, Raymond introduced us the the chef and manager Dominic. The Food: Prosciutto & Fig Crostini- I have never had anything quite as tasty- the combination of texture and taste was amazing! Crab Cakes-Fresh from the water, 4 hours earlier! I live in Atlanta and have had the good fortune to order this from some amazing chefs up here but this one was unreal! Fresh crab meat, amazing spices, remoulade sauce and a touch of lemon. Main Meal- Filet atop lobster risotto, topped with a fresh crab claw! It was spectacular! Crème Brulee- Classic. Perfection. Melted in front of our eyes by Raymond himself. I literally hugged Raymond, thanked him for a wonderful evening, waltzed out of Eli's table, crossed the street and laid down on a step and began recalling my favorite parts of each course for my husband. He grinned, looking down at his silly wife. I smiled back, "this is going to be hard to beat for our 2nd anniversary". He said, "I know, that's why we're coming back here". I married a smart man.
