If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. It's much harder to stick with a customer through an intermittent issue, and that's exactly what South Valley AC & Heating did. Third time it recently failed the second time they came down it was like pulling teeth for them to come fix their rigged repairs. Had to call several times. Kept flaking on the days they scheduled us. This third time their replacement part failed We called another company to come and look at it. The tech showed us what was rigged to replace the parts they said they replaced. They cut off certain components to make things "function". When you pay for service you expect to have the job done right not have things rigged to "make things work". Have some integrity Central California Air......

Rafael one of McKenney's outstanding technicians came out to our home due to a leak in our…read moresecondary drain line. Mind you our HVAC system is over 20 years old and after one company came out to look at the cause of the leak, their immediate response..."got to buy a new system this may be difficult to repair." That other company quoted me $23,000 for a new system. And then I thought to myself...there's no way. Called McKenney's out so they could provide me with an estimate for a new system. Rafael asks me why I thought I needed a new system. So I told him my story. He then stops me and says..."let me go up to the attic and take a look what is going on before we price a new system out." He clears out the drain lines from the system. Powers it up...no leak. The system has been running just fine since Tuesday! Rafael saved us thousands of dollars by simply diagnosing the problem in a matter of 30 mins. This a testimony of working with an honest and hard working company willing to go that extra mile for their customers. Please give McKenney's a chance to help you out with your HVAC needs!

I am sharing this review to document my full experience with McKenney's Air Conditioning, from…read moreservice through final resolution. McKenney's originally installed my HVAC system and later returned after water was visibly draining from the secondary condensate system, which their technician explained indicated the primary system was not functioning properly. During that visit, they determined the drain pan from their prior installation was unlevel and reworked the primary condensate drain line, including resoldering copper piping. Secondary safety sensors were also installed at that time. Despite this work, the system was left in a condition that later failed, resulting in sudden water damage inside my home. Emergency mitigation and repairs were required and paid for out of pocket. I made repeated good-faith efforts to resolve the issue directly with McKenney's and through their liability insurer. Their insurer later acknowledged in writing that the condensate drain configuration did not include a vent/standpipe, yet responsibility for the damage was still denied. McKenney's also refused to pay for emergency services that were verbally authorized at the time. I pursued the matter through small claims court but did not prevail. While the legal outcome was not in my favor, the facts of the loss never changed: water damage occurred, repairs were necessary, and the costs were real and documented. Ultimately, my homeowners insurance paid the claim and is now pursuing subrogation against McKenney's and/or their insurers. Subrogation means the insurance company steps into the homeowner's shoes to recover the money it paid from the party it determines is responsible. Insurance companies do not pursue subrogation unless they conclude there is a legitimate basis to do so. In my experience, this loss resulted from negligent and faulty workmanship, specifically the failure to leave the system in a properly functioning condition after service. This was a preventable failure that occurred only after McKenney's performed work on the system. The small claims outcome reflected a misunderstanding of how the loss occurred, not an absence of evidence, and left me carrying the burden until my insurer stepped in. In my opinion, homeowners should avoid McKenney's Air Conditioning. There are many reputable HVAC companies that stand behind their work, correct their own mistakes, and do not force customers through months of stress, escalation, and financial exposure to resolve preventable damage. Based on my experience, McKenney's did not demonstrate the level of care, accountability, or professionalism homeowners should expect when trusting a contractor with their home.

All of a sudden sharp screeching noises started coming from our AC fan unit, there was no doubt the neighbors probably heard it too. I knew who to call LaVerne & Son to the rescue. I made an appointment over the phone Vincent showed up right on time. He diagnosed my problem explained the repair (fan motor) and will be taking care of it. Vincent was friendly professional the cost is reasonable and fair. Great service
