It was fairly reasonable but we didn't want to wait. Also, you can bring your old appliances back and drop them off. They will recycle them for you. Subtracting one star because the sales person was bad talking the brands they don't carry. With a passion. At the end of the day, even if the brands suck, I'm not a fan of talking negative against the competition. "I don't reccomend it." Or "We don't carry XYZ because we only carry products we can stand behind" would be sufficient.

Frustrated, I decided to call up my mom who has worked in the appliance industry for over 30 years. She immediately gave me Ray's number from R & M Appliance & Repair Service. One quick call and we had a time set for him to come out. He gave me a call the morning of to give me a window of time in which he'd stop by . He arrived within the window that he gave us and was able to diagnose the problem very quickly. He was very knowledgeable, and even gave me the backstory on why these units were having the issues that we were dealing with. The entire time he was very professional and my daughter even had fun watching him while he worked his magic. Not only did he replace the board on the washer, but he called in to Whirlpool so that it would be 100% covered by them (it's a faulty board that they're aware of, but because it doesn't pose a safety threat there's no recall). He was there for about 30 minutes and by the time he was done I was as happy as a clothes-washing clam. Ray was incredibly nice and very professional. I've honestly never dealt with a nicer repair guy before. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's having appliance issues. This guy is awesome!

My GE Side by Side refrigerator/freezer wasn't cooling properly. I called R & M on a Friday…read moremorning and received a callback within minutes. I hadn't heard of the company before and am fairly new to the area. I hate cold calling repair guys, was leery of repair ads on Craigslist, and knew nobody who could recommend anyone reputable. I searched reviews on Yelp and read nothing but positive comments about R & M, so had to give them a shot. Ray asked a few simple questions over the phone to narrow down the problem. He ruled out larger issues and broke it down to 4 potential problems, along with an estimate of what each might cost. I asked about payments that he accepts. He responded "cash or check". It's nice to have options (i.e. I didn't have to run to the ATM). Ray came over that same afternoon. He was personal, professional, and patient with my numerous questions. Perhaps he should have received a higher wage for providing an education on the workings of a refrigerator. He showed me how he ruled out the other issues and luckily, he just needed to replace the heating element in the self-defrost system. With that not working properly, frost built up on the coils which caused poor air flow. No air flow = no cooling. I learned a lot and it was really interesting! My appliance was fixed the same day and the cost was very reasonable! Thank you Ray!! I'm happy to have found your company and will be recommending R & M if I know of anyone who needs appliances repaired.

AND, the failed repair cost $200 more than the estimate. I contacted him a couple days after the attempted repair to tell him the machine still leaks and got no response. My advice is to buy a new machine and skip the wasted time and money for a failed repair. If you do hire them, be sure to get an estimate in writing.

When I ordered parts from Standard Appliance I learned he was charging me inflated retail prices not his account price. Standard Appliance charged account price plus 10% mil discount. On July 6, 2022, I called back to schedule appt after I bought the parts says he doesn't want to finish the job.
