will begin by saying dealing with car salesmen and car dealerships have always been a nightmare…read more I've bought or leased many cars and trucks over these many years and in each case the salesmen and dealerships annoyed me and tried squeezing every penny out of me. Buying a car became a 5-hour ordeal. And then I was told I should visit Wickstrom in Barrington. So I did. Dealing with Wickstrom and Don DiPaulo was unlike any other car experience I had. I wanted a two door Wrangler and BOOM! - there it was. Don didn't try to shove the 4-door down my throat or dance the jig trying to get me to go for the Wagoneer. There was no "add this" or "you really need undercoating - now!" The entire experience was painless - Don DiPaulo was very pleasant and accommodating and (I couldn't believe this part) I didn't want to strangle him and (even more unbelievable) i was out of there in less than 90 minutes. I do recommend heading to Wickstrom next time you're thinking of buying a car or truck. You'll be surprised, pleased and delighted at how well you are treated - especially if you search out Don DiPaulo.

From the moment I walked in, Eric made the entire process smooth, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, answered all of my questions without any pressure, and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. His knowledge, professionalism, and friendly approach really stood out. What truly set this experience apart from any dealership I've worked with in the past was how seamless and efficient everything was. Eric was a true one-stop resource--handling everything from the vehicle details to paperwork and financing. There was no back-and-forth between different departments, which made the process incredibly straightforward. Remarkably, I was able to walk in, complete everything, and drive out with the keys in hand in about an hour. That level of efficiency is almost unheard of when buying a car, and it made a typically time-consuming experience refreshingly easy. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, I highly recommend working with Eric Jensen at Wickstrom Auto Group--you'll be in great hands. I am thankful I stumbled upon doing business with Eric and at same time annoyed I just found him. I don't foresee working with anyone else next time I am in the market and it's great that as part of Wickstrom Auto Group he can support the Ford and Lincoln models in addition to Jeep.

How could that be so awesome? Well, the dude had Ravelco and it saved his truck from being stolen. We searched for a dealer, and the closest one was in Chicago (6 hours from us). We drove there and met Michael (installer) in the parking lot of the hotel. He wired up both of our vehicles dodging rain the whole day. His professionalism and knowledge of the product is incredible! He keeps the industry secret close, and provided us with the "key fob" plug to put in the dash. We couldn't be happier with the service provided, and the knowledge Michael has to make this install a breeze. We took our Jeep on a 3 week road trip. Not once did we worry about it being stolen. They did mess with the vehicle, the outside of it. But not one "thief" even tried to enter the cab. Thanks Michael !!! Thanks Ravelco !!!

Very impressed! I've been searching for a better method to protect my car from being stolen…read morebesides just having an alarm and The Club. Because I live in downtown Chicago I do the reverse commute, which means I am leaving my car parked at a Metra station. Sooner or later I just knew I was going to get off the train one morning and not find my car sitting there because it was stolen. But now I think I've found the best solution to prevent my car from being hotwired. These guys are mobile installers, so they will come to your location at work or at home, and perform the install for about two or three hours. For me they came to my work and we did this on the top level of the parking deck. I thought it was very similar to the service from similar mobile installers like windshield repair. Basically the car is rewired to interrupt the ignition and maybe other systems like the fuel pump. You have a plug that looks like a cap, and you have to insert the plug under your dashboard before trying to start the car with your keys. Without the plug the car simply won't start, even if the thief has your keys. The installer (Michael) told me the plug is not the same for everyone, it is a unique configuration that will only work on my car. I was quoted a price less than $500 which included installation, two plugs, Ravelco stickers, a keychain to carry the plug, and some paperwork. I called my insurance, State Farm, and was able to get a tiny discount on my monthly premium because of this theft prevention device. I don't know why I had to create this business entry for Yelp, but I could not find it when I searched for it. So I'm thinking this might be the best kept secret to actually stop car theft. And I've got it baby! I highly recommend this simple solution.

Date of visit: November 24, 2025…read more I came here as another dealership had indicated that my starter was beginning to go and should be replaced before it failed completely. I made the appointment online and arrived early for the appointment. After a short wait, I met with the service advisor who was very puzzled by my ask stating that "starters did not wear out," and asked me to start the car. We headed out into the garage area and I started the car. He was able to diagnose that the hesitation in the car starting was that it was not a Volkswagen battery and was not "coded" to the car. I confirmed that it was a battery from Advance Auto Parts because of the astronomical battery cost through the dealer. While cheaper, these batteries will wear out sooner as they drain faster because of the lack of "coding." This had never been mentioned to me before. Now I don't know who to trust and while I am grateful for not spending several hundred dollars on something I didn't need, have I been suckered into believing I need a VW battery in less than a year? And why didn't anyone look at my appointment and ask that before I drove 30 minutes to Hales Corners?

Going in, I was expecting the worst because people online make it seem like the dealership is terrible, but that wasn't true at all in my case. The staff was friendly right away and took the time to actually look at my headlights and talk through what was going on without brushing me off or trying to upsell anything. Even though it wasn't a major service visit, they still treated it seriously and made sure I understood everything. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping rather than just making money, which is something you don't always expect at a dealership. Honestly, I think a lot of the negative reviews are overblown or don't reflect how they actually treat customers. My experience was smooth, respectful, and helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

No pushback on a test drive, very easy to do business with these guys. Audi Hoffman Estates had an allocation but jerked us around on price and and played games like saying that coming in at MSRP was a big maybe, "we'll see," and wanted a 3k deposit. They also were gatekeeping the test drive, saying that they don't do that here unless you're an extremely serious buyer. I do not recommend this place. In contrast, Luis at the Audi Exchange, was super nice and direct. He agreed to MSRP and a 1k deposit on the exact build we wanted. Luis gave us plenty of updates on the car's journey from Germany to Highland Park and even facillated a set of Pirelli winter tires at wholesale price to be included in the transaction. Dan the finance manager was also great and didn't waste our time with the endless upsells you usually get. You're in great hands with these guys. They also have lots of good snacks including protein bars.

I inquired about the vehicle on Saturday, May 23, 2026. I received an iPacket at about 3:26 p.m. and an email shortly after saying the vehicle was available. Since I was already in Illinois and interested in the car, I drove about 45 minutes and roughly 45 miles out of my way to see it. When I arrived, we were able to visually inspect the car. While we were looking for it, the salesperson asked whether I had already been in before to look at that same vehicle, which made me wonder if there was already some confusion about its status. After looking it over, I asked to hear it run. When the salesperson went to get the keys, I was then told the vehicle was being bought or held by someone else. The salesperson offered to help us look at other vehicles, but at that point I decided we were done and left. The next day, the same vehicle was still listed on the dealership's website with options to confirm availability, schedule a test drive, and start the buying process. I understand used cars can sell quickly, and I am not saying anyone acted intentionally. I also realise this may not be unique to this dealership. But from a customer's point of view, the communication and inventory status were not handled well. In 2026, the technology exists to avoid sending customers to see vehicles that are already sold, held, or otherwise unavailable. At minimum, listings should be updated promptly or clearly marked as pending. If the industry cannot do that consistently, clearer rules may be needed. Given the extra time and mileage, some acknowledgement of the inconvenience would have gone a long way. None was offered. Based on my experience, I would not make another trip to this dealership unless a manager confirmed in writing that the exact vehicle was available, on site, ready to be started, and actually being held for my appointment.
