I like your original because it has personality. I tightened it up while **keeping your "gun to her head" line**, your humor, and your storytelling style. Oh man... I wish I could give **no stars** or maybe even **minus one star**. I have lived in this city for over 30 years, and I frequently go out for dinner. I love ethnic food and enjoy trying new restaurants. But **THIS**. I repeat, **THIS** was the most shocking and truly unbelievable restaurant experience I have ever had. My spouse and I like to eat late, so we checked Yelp to see if there were any restaurants in the North Hollywood area open later than 9:00 p.m. We found this one with a 4-star rating. Wow... not bad. I didn't bother reading the 1-star reviews. LOL. My mistake. The menu sounded great, although a bit pricey, so we decided to give it a try. After what we experienced, I'm honestly amazed this place is still allowed to be open. It really makes me wonder whether the city ever checks on some of these restaurants. As soon as we parked, we heard incredibly loud music. We assumed there was a private party or some kind of celebration. But when we walked through the patio area and into the restaurant, we discovered the inside was empty. The music blasting from the stage was so loud that my spouse and I couldn't even understand each other. Then a woman came out from some door--maybe the kitchen, I have no idea. Oh my God... she looked like she had just gotten out of bed. Her demeanor was so unfriendly and unwelcoming that I was honestly in awe. She looked absolutely miserable. My spouse practically had to yell just to tell her we'd rather sit on the patio, hoping it would be a little quieter. It wasn't. Two men were sitting at a table across from us with all kinds of equipment, and behind us sat a couple with two children. As I always try to be friendly, I smiled and said, "Hi, how are you?" She looked at me almost in disbelief and forced herself to smile as if someone were holding a gun to her head and making her do it. Then she took our drink order and disappeared. Meanwhile, one of the children behind us started screaming and yelling. Of course, the parents couldn't have cared less. I honestly don't understand why some parents think that when their kids behave like bloody little brats, screaming and yelling, everyone else in the restaurant is supposed to enjoy it too. No, we do **NOT**. Teach your kids how to behave in public. It worked pretty well when we boomers were growing up! Anyway... back to the restaurant. Our lovely, oh-so-friendly waitress eventually came back. Still no drinks. Somehow, after the way she treated us, we weren't even surprised anymore. We ordered our food, and off she went again with her incredibly "welcoming" attitude. Then, all of a sudden, those two men across from us got up and went to the stage. They turned out to be the night's entertainers. The music had already been painfully loud, but once they started singing, it became even louder. The funny part was... who exactly were they performing for? The restaurant inside was empty, and outside there was only one family and us. After a while, I turned to my spouse and said, "I think they're singing to themselves." After enduring about two songs, my spouse quietly told me that the couple behind us had started smoking. My back was toward them, so I hadn't noticed. That was the final straw. We certainly did **NOT** expect people to be smoking while we were trying to eat in a restaurant. We looked at each other and said, "Nope. We've had enough." A cranky, unfriendly waitress, two guys singing so loudly I'm sure the entire neighborhood could hear them, screaming children, and now cigarette smoke? No, thank you. My spouse went inside hoping to find our waitress so we could let her know we were leaving, but she was nowhere to be found. At that point, we simply walked out. We have never done that before, but this experience was completely unacceptable. Between the miserable service, the deafening music, the singers performing for practically nobody, and people smoking while others were trying to eat, this was, without question, the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Elite Garden is really a full Armenian and Russian food eatery, but we go there for the Polish food, which we love. All of it is great. They have a wide menu and you will find something you want. They have the best Pelmeni and you can get these dumplings with chicken or beef. Their Armenian Yogurt soup is also great. Their Pozharsky Cutlet stuffed with mushrooms is amazing and different. Their salads are also good. We love the Ahi Tuna salad and the seafood salad. All of their mains are good. And believe it or not their fries are so good, it is a side dish. The service is ever so nice and kind and we love the manager/owner who came by the check on us. What a nice guy. Everything was perfect. We could not have been happier. The inside is comfortable and really pretty. All the tables are dressed with white table clothes and cutlery is already set up. Enjoy. read more

My friend and I were looking for a place to go after a movie at Cinemark. This was very close by and had good reviews so we went. What a find! We were greeted by Aramis the owner. It was 8:30 p.m. and surprisingly not that many people in there but the patio was set up an inside was very charming with colored lights, wood floors, and tables already set up with appetizer plate, cloth napkin and glassware. They had a terrific keyboard player playing background music and the owner second a couple songs and we were offered karaoke we declined. The menu is fantastic. Varied with Armenian and other dishes. Ribs $18, sea bass $22, salmon $22, branzino $26. We both had sea bass - interesting presentation but very very good. A friend took me here for lunch. This is a very nice Armenian/Russian cafe in Valley Village. It has a lovely outdoor patio and a very nice indoor area with tables beautifully set. The food was delicious. I had the beef stroganoff along with several other salads and sides all of which i truly enjoyed. Service was very attentive and friendly. I must say I was disappointed with this place my husband and I like trying new places and sometimes we come across a few places that we don't enjoy. I got the garden salad with chicken, the dressing was on point but the chicken was very bland and has no flavor. The shish kabob plate the meat had and usual taste the rice was very salty. The hummus and mushroom Julianna was extremely salty as well throwing off all other flavors and making it impossible to eat. :( read more

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! I ordered the beef soup which was incredibly savory and the chicken Lula kebab, which was one of the best I've ever had. Even the rice was yummy. But the delicious food pales in comparison to the kindness of the staff and owner. I forgot my wallet at the restaurant. Before I even realized that I was missing my wallet, the owner drove about 13 miles to return my wallet at my home. I am humbled with gratitude. I stopped at Elite Garden Cafe for some takeout while picking up some pastries next door. The food is excellent, and the owner and wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I purchased the vegan beet "lasagna" and spelt "risotto", both of which were delicious. The lasagna was layers of perfectly-cooked beets with pesto and pepitas, and the risotto was flavorful and filling. Both items are new on their menu, and definitely worth checking out! I'd love to come back for a sit-down meal during one of their live music events and take in more of the nighttime ambiance. And for more of their delicious food, of course! read more

The Pojarski cotlet or whatever it's called, first off the potatoes were under cooked impossible to chew and even poke it, hard as a raw potato, as for the main course, oh how could you be so disrespectful? When I received my food I was instantly disappointed. I was given four chunks of dried, hard, flavorless chicken. The veggies however were delicious. The waiter was polite throughout the meal. The interior and exterior were visually attractive except for the smell of cigarettes on the inside. The blasting techno music didn't really add to my enjoyment either. Had a wonderful evening dining here with my mom. Everything was delicious! Had the Chicken Kiev and wish I had taken a picture . The juices that flowed when I cut into it blew me away.
