I have the same model, and it has generally been a reliable vehicle for me, and my girlfriend is quite fond of it as well.Used Volvo XC90s are somewhat limited in the central U.S., so when we found this one for sale locally in Olathe, we were eager to check it out. We inspected the car and took it for a test drive, and everything appeared to be in order. My girlfriend decided to buy the car that day with cash; there was no negotiation since she really liked it and the price seemed reasonable. However, just one day later, the check engine light illuminated. Given that the car has many sensors, I assumed it might just be a glitch in the software. My girlfriend reached out to 'SASHA' and communicated with his wife regarding the check engine light problem. We were advised to bring the car in for inspection. A couple of days later, we took the vehicle in, and they examined it, telling us it was ready for pickup. They claimed it was a battery issue. Initially, I believed this explanation, but I was somewhat skepticall. As an electrical designer for a utility company, I have a good understanding of electrical systems and their functions. When we picked up the car, the check engine light had been cleared, but it soon returned. The light came back on the following day. We took the car back again, and the dealership provided the same explanation. This occurred once more, and we were urged to bring the car in again. Nothing was resolved, and we received the same story about a battery issue. I suspect this dealership is dishonest. Regarding the concern with the check engine light; I own a personal scan tool for my vehicles that can clear check engine lights. I attempted to reset the check engine light on her vehicle. The battery was never a concern, as confirmed by the untouched battery terminals located in the trunk of the vehicle. Sasha and his wife are frauds; they used a scan tool to clear the check engine light prior to purchasing the vehicle. We drove just under the mileage limit to avoid triggering a check engine light before completing all the paperwork. Sasha also gives off predatory vibes around young little girls; he behaves in an overly clingy manner towards them. My girlfriend and I brought her daughter along, and while he wanted to hug and show affection, his actions were inappropriate and unsettling. His wife is equally rude and arrogant. Additionally, we have yet to receive the title for the vehicle, and the dealership has stopped responding to our messages. Avoid purchasing a vehicle from this fraudulent and creepy dealership. Holding onto the title is illegal for a dealership, and this practice is also considered fraudulent, which we will be investigating

When we went to pick it up, suddenly they told us that the water pump was fine but anyway. I told him that almost every other power-train warranty on the market covers water pumps. The used car sales-man ( and he looks like one) proudly informed me that they had fine print covering that and that he would gladly show it to me. Then to add insult to injury Kings Auto service mechanics charged him $38 all the while trying to distance themselves from these used car salesman guys. Dont believe it, they are joined at the hip. I discovered HAWK Auto as I was looking for a used hybrid sedan online and found a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid in excellent condition. I called the number listed in the ad and Sean (co-owner) responded to my voicemail within the day. I must admit, at first I was hesitant about this dealership which was simply warranted by appearances of the facility, which are rugged and more shop-oriented. However, the associates and owners at HAWK have a high level of integrity which is shown through their excellent customer service, the quality of vehicles they choose to carry, the extremely high level of product knowledge, and their desire to build relationships with each of their customers. Sean & Mario both were willing to spend the required time with my wife & I to ensure our questions were fully satisfied and that we were comfortable with the transaction. At no time did we feel pressured to make a purchase, nor were we made to feel like we were a burden when our due diligence took longer than might be typical. My experience listed here is most definitely worthy of a high review, but the extra-ordinary aspect of my experience with HAWK comes in to play several months following the purchase of the vehicle. The title of the purchased vehicle was delivered via certified mail the very week I was moving houses and tragically became misplaced. After months of looking through papers & boxes, we deemed the title lost. Unfortunately, the vehicle had not been registered and now we had to get a replacement title. After contacting the DOT, the insurance company and the lien holder, all counsel suggested the dealer would have to request a replacement title. What made this extremely difficult was HAWK purchased the vehicle through an auction house in GA, who purchased the vehicle from a leasing agent in FL. Each transfer in ownership was hand-written on the title, so the last recorded registration was still in FL. In order to get the replacement title, Sean was required to spend a tremendous amount of time researching, tracking down involved parties, and initiating on my behalf the request for replacement title. This process spanned many months, involving multiple hours of work on HAWK's part in order to remedy the issue, and Sean was always quick to respond and very professional with each correspondence. At no time was I ever made to feel like I was a nuisance or inconvenience, which I know this issue must have been a large source of frustration for Sean. I do not know of many used dealers that would have put in the time and effort for a single customer who had already made a purchase. This, to me, goes way above and beyond the typical expectations of a used dealer and Sean has demonstrated his dedication to me as a customer. For that I cannot give him a high enough rating and I will always go to HAWK Auto for all of my used vehicle needs in the future.

Then it was listed and sold by a"Dealership," with a 25 day, and 25% compensation warranty (we said the clutch was not right and it was ignored right away.) Extended warranty. Was added to the loan. For a 2 yr total care thru a third party. With all that, my 19 yr old and 21 yr old kids felt it was a safe buy. (4k down, and sister co-signer for the basic high rates.). 3 weeks later, the engine blew and the warranty was voided because of previous work done before the sale. Obviously a bate and hook sale, telling the buyer what they wanted to hear then pulling out of their obligations. Don't trust anything from Bobby or Austin. It's going to be a hassle if you do. We are starting the process currently for an answer to our problem. So far there is nothing from them except back peddling. We are down 500.00 in towing and diagnosis. Dealership and the finance/ warranty company wiped their hands at this point.

Problem was, there were SIGNIFICANT issues in many other areas -- electrical, transfer case, brakes, &c -- all things that would NOT have been masked by a noisy timing chain, and should have been disclosed. But, foolish as I was, I had no recourse because I had signed the as-is disclosure. Manager won't return calls once he knows you're unhappy. When I finally got him on the phone, he said he couldn't do anything for me, & blind-transferred me to the dealership "owner" -- a voice mailbox with no greeting. I suspect it was a dumping ground. Run, don't walk, if you are offered anything as-is.
