This was my very first visit so I didn't request any particular person to do my nails and just went with whoever was assigned to me. Therefore, this review is solely based on the quality of pedicure service I received from Kathy & manicure service received from Lily. Lily was very detailed throughout the entire manicure process from dipping powder, shaping to finish. I was charged $55 for dip, $5 for multi color & $5 for removal old powder. Price was reasonable, pretty much the same as what other places charge. So 5-star for Lily. Kathy's pedicure on the other hand was not so desirable. She broke my toe skin while cleaning as she was chatting with another coworker. She did not clip the corners of my nails because my nails are small ‍, until I told her to do so. There was no massage at all, she lightly rubbed on the scrubs then lotion, there was no pressure felt her hands at all. And... she only applied up to my ankle, barely to the midsection of my calf . The even funnier part is she asked me if I want more massage when lotion on my legs already all gone and she was dry rubbing my legs, ouch. This was the worst pedicure I ever received for $38. 1 star for Kathy. After averaging Lily's 5 star with Kathy's 1 star, hence i gave the 3 star rating. The vibe when you walk in is not friendly or welcoming. They charge additional fees for basic nail care such as cuticles. They made my 13 year old niece cry after her pedicure since they did not realize we spoke the same language as the technician. The technician didn't ask how to shape my nails and automatically started to round them when I had squares already and then tried to charge me for shape change. Got my nails done here for the first time by Henry. He was attentive and did my nails fine. When it came to pricing, I got chrome powder done with acrylic full set. I asked for short nails since I like it more natural and so I can type for work. I ended up paying $90, $70 for acrylic full set, almond shape, and long nail charge? And then additional $20 for chrome powder. I would think getting acrylic nails include length. And if it was super long, sure charge for the long nail charge but seemed a bit much for simple short nails, as shown in the picture (especially when I kept asking him to trim it down to make it short and natural looking) Came here with a friend who got multiple designs and only paid like $20 more than I did and didn't get charged for the nail shape so maybe it's dependent on who you go to. I've been to other nail salons in the area who charge much cheaper for the same style of chrome powder, length, and shape. Looks nice but seems overpriced so minus one star. I had been coming to Elite nails for years. I loved the way that Lily did my nails and she was so talented with her designs, I thought that I found my nail place for life! To my extreme disappointment, the prices were increasing without letting me know ahead of time. There wasn't anything posted in the salon or online when I would book my appt. They started with charging me extra for matte top coat, then they started charging me for shaping--that should be included in a manicure price--then they charged for gel removal. When I asked about all of the separate additions to my normal manicure charge Lily did not offer me any explanation and blew me off (quite literally, with me physically standing there). I started seeing Bella and really liked her a lot but she was out of town when I needed to get my nails done for an event and I made an appt with Lily, they canceled my appt before I got there. Being naive, thinking it was a mistake I made another appointment and when I showed up for my appointment Lily and Henry both told me that Lily would not be doing my nails. I have never been treated so poorly before. I am in the service industry myself and I would never disrespect a client or anyone for that matter. I would never recommend anyone go there, their prices just keep increasing without transparency and I would never want a friend or family member be treated that way. I love going to Elite Nails for nail designs. I show them ideas found on Instagram or just random on the internet and they do great work to put their own creative spin on it. Service attitude is great, but I have gone and not all employees are of equal skill level. No one is terrible but sometimes you can tell how good one is in the attention to detail with their techniques. Don't be afraid to speak up about what you don't like, but also don't be rude - I have seen that in other customers. They are willing to fix something you're not comfortable with. Make sure to set up an appointment, especially on Saturdays, because they get mad busy. Sure, they take walk-ins, but they might ask you to come back in an hour. This was my go to nail salon for a while because Henry did such a fantastic job but there was one time he was on vacation so Lily did my nails (for my hubby's 50th) but the design and shape was crooked. I didn't have time for her to fix it. When I told her about it she didn't say a word and had always been unfriendly towards me. Now when I call to make an appointment with Henry they will not answer my call and she would always tell me that Henry is busy. So I tried to schedule my appointment through their website and my appointment was canceled. I tried to find out who the owner is if this salon but I don't know who to complain too to address Lily's bad attitude towards customers. I do have a copy of my appointment and the cancellation. This seemed like a fair price and I was taken back to my chair, where a young lady asked if I wanted my polish removed? How else do you do a pedi? I thought it was odd... I was satisfied with my pedicure and massage. When I went to pay, the same lady that quoted me $35.00 now said it would be $40.00. I asked why and she said that I got polish. I said who doesn't get polish with a pedi? So she yelled back to someone (not in english so I couldn't understand) and then told me it was for polish remover. I don't think I'm going to be going back. I feel like everytime I go to the nail salon, I'm being upcharged by them and they don't say anything until it's time to pay. I went in for a filling and was charged 52$. I don't wear long nails, but I was charged for long nails. There is no nail length standard or measurement shown out on display. He charged me for filing my nails into coffin - they were already coffin shaped. And he upcharged me for having to fix some nails that were coming up from my original nail.... Visited here two months ago when I brought my daughter to get a pedicure and the place is beautiful! Love the ambiance and they are very clean. However as a practicing and licensed nail tech since 2006 the service I received was ok at best. The older lady that did my pedicure made me feel judged and uncomfortable about a few things. Though I love how clean my cuticles are for the $120 + tip I paid for us both my feet aren't much softer then when I came in and I usually do our pedis but I was looking forward to treating my daughter and getting a massage which was more rubbing lotion on than a massage, not to mention we were rushed so they could service others. I got my nails done a week ago. This photo below is 4 days after I got my nails done. Cici did a horrible job. She is good at pedicures, but that is it. I asked for tips with pink gel (acrylic) and a white gel French. She did dip. I said it 5 times I didn't say I wanted dip. She filed the dip off and did this. My nails look horrible. I won't be going back. It looks like I need fill in's and she missed parts of the nail with polish and the French lines are uneven. read more

This was my go to nail salon in EC until I tried their gel manicure. First, I asked the gentleman if he knew how to do ombre of fading with gel manicure. At first he said yes, but it was evidential he didn't as his co-workers tried to get him to watch YouTube. Then he convinced me to try mood color changing gel with sparkling coat on top. OK, I thought I'd try. He did my right hand first, then when he tried my left hand, I could tell the colors were way too light even though y were applied with same color. So I ended up with a mismatched hands: right hand dark navy/purple and left hand light blue and purple. They asked me to come back to fix since I didn't have time then for a do-over. I came back two days later. I grew to like lighter colors on my left hand better so they re-did my right hand only. A different nail technician did my right hand. It took us awhile to even locate the right gel color. She re-did the right, and it came out much darker again them the colors on the left. I couldn't be more disappointed. They didn't charge me for this and said they'd do it all over again, but I can't wait going to nail salons three times in a week to get them fixed. The odd thing is, I really liked the colors on my left hand, the lighter shades because they remind me of ombre colors. Don't any nail salons in MD do them? I used to get "fading"/ ombre colors all the time in Hawaii. read more

When we went to pay the added on $6 for polish remover, $5 because we used 5 different color nail polish and another $5 for the polka dots. While getting our pedicures a woman came in screaming at them because they charged her an additional $15 the day before and she insisted they pay her back while calling them frauds. My girlfriend's pedicure was more of a polish change. She was done in about 15 minutes - no massage. She had to then sit and wait for us to finish. Not relaxing due to a lot of staff loud chatter amongst themselves. Sadly, I would not recommend them! read more

Ok so I'm back at the review...here i am at the nail place and the strangest thing happened. I had a 10am appointment this morning with Lily (you could catch her on a good or bad day, all depends...today was a bad day) but didn't start till around 10:15am. I scheduled for both a mani and pedi and after she was done with my pedi she explicitly told me she had a customer and she could not do my scheduled mani because she had another customer waiting. I asked her how long the mani and pedi was meant to be for she said 45mins for BOTH. I was rather shocked because even factories can't make things happen that fast for both service. Thank goodness for Henry who stepped in and for his intervention and because of that alone, I remain honest with a 3 star. He spoke gently in their language and she came back with a lot of hesitancy to do the mani in less than 10 mins which was okay because I just always clean my finger and thats about it for me as a mani but pedi, I am super particular. I saw a lot wrong with the picture and I am not one to shout discrimination but I saw it clearly. She basically had a more important customer to attend to and I was not important enough to finish what she started with. Funny thing is I walked in here this morning with a $50 bill i felt inclined to give her for her son as a Christmas gift but with what just happened and the complete embarassment, I knocked off the 0 behind that 5...shame shame shame.. Can we have some nail places in the area without just over rushing customers and show some concern in this particular space? OMG..disappointed this morning. I wish we had Thai people who entered this market space. They are super patient and super loving and caring people. Also they don't interact or look at you during your appointment, they just talk to each in other in a different language right in front of you and don't talk to you at all, not very welcoming. Then they don't even tell you the different types of pedicures, since it's my first time here, I expect you to explain that stuff to me - hello????!!!! When I asked about the different pedicures she said she was already almost done - seriously? So fast!? Don't expect any type of massage with the basic pedicure- which is what I assume I got since it lasted only a few minutes. They didn't bother to ask. Then she points to a list that was on the side of their cabinet like I'm already supposed to know that. This is my first time here! WTF? I've been supporting this small nail salon for about a year. I've been seeing the same nail tech (who was new when I started with her) and I've stuck with her because she does good work. Over the past month, she has had to cancel twice. I always set up my appointments two weeks in advance. Yesterday, I received a text 1.5 hrs before my scheduled appt telling me that my nail tech is "sick" and asking me if I could come in 2.5 hours later than my scheduled appointment time so that someone else can do my nails. I was unable to change my time due to other commitments. After a few texts back and forth, I was told someone just "canceled" and that I could come in at my regular time. When I got to the nail salon, they were overbooked and I had to wait for a long time to get serviced. It was obvious that no one canceled and that I was lied to about the situation. I was paired with Cici who was not friendly and the pedicure and manicure took very little time. There was hardly a massage given for either service and she just didn't seem to care about what she was doing. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to Elite Nails due to the way my appointment was handled yesterday. Customer service is very important to me and I feel like I wasted my money yesterday. After reading the other reviews on Yelp, I would encourage people to go elsewhere to a place that values and appreciates loyal customers. read more
