After being left behind by my old sales person from Smith & Noble and 3Day Blinds who bought them, I had a couple very expensive roller shades that were slowing and needed their yearly charge......but alas no charger!! The problem I was trying to solve was with two 20+ year old Hunter Douglas blinds that were battery-powered, very high up, and large. The batteries would lose their juice and could only be replaced with a large two story ladder. Elite Shutters was able to provide new Hunter Douglas blinds, which are solar-powered and also managed with an iPhone app, so now my blinds are on a schedule to go up and down or I can control them myself. read more

I just moved to a brand new development in Brentwood. On Thursday, March 23, 2023, I observed a white van emblazoned with graphics and a logo that read "ELITE Shutters and Shadings" pull up near our newly installed community mailboxes. A person got out of the van and affixed advertising signage to both mailboxes and then left quickly. Subsequently, a representative of our neighborhood association removed the signs which revealed damage to the newly installed mailboxes that will now require both mailboxes to be repainted at significant expense. This kind of conduct is analogous to tagging and is certainly not going to convince anyone in our new community to buy anything from a company that would engage in this type of conduct. After living in our home in Pleasanton for over 20 years, I decided it was finally time to take action to address the afternoon sun that beams into our dining room and kitchen through our 12' patio slider and absolutely cooks us while we prep and eat dinner every night. I was a bit nervous as I had purchased some vertical blinds to solve this problem when we first moved in, and was never pleased with the outcome. I did a little research online and had a company come out to provide some guidance and give me a quote. Although the experience was satisfactory, I was left feeling like something was missing. I turned to Yelp to see what other options I had and saw a lot of excellent reviews for Elite Shutters and Janice in particular. As I made an appointment to come down to the showroom to talk with her, I thought to myself, I wonder if she can live up to all of these wonderful reviews? Spoiler alert - she can and she did! I had 3 separate meetings with Janice and she was fabulous throughout each one. She took the time to ask me the right questions to help me determine what I *didn't* want and what I *did* want in my window coverings, and then asked *why* I felt that way. When I was unsure about the exact fabric color, she kindly left me several samples which I kept on my slider for a few days to see how they looked in various lights throughout the day which was enormously helpful. Her questions really helped me pare down my options and I eventually selected Hunter Douglas Roman Shades, motorized, with 4 separate panels. I'm honestly not sure I would have perservered with this project if it wasn't for her knowledge and patience during this process. Installation day was just a few days ago and I absolutely love how they look in my dining room. They work wonderfully with my decor and the motorized feature is such a nice addition! My only regret is that I didn't find Janice and Elite Shutters years ago.
